      I was the exact same way. It wasn't until I joined the Army and realize I had a whole team to back me in a firefight. Whereas many times, cops are by themselves and if caught in a battle, they have to call for backup while in the midst of a firefight. Even in a matter of seconds, they could be dead by the time backup gets there.

    Some great pointer and tips. I was military police on the Marine Corps and was on SRT on Pendleton. I say that to say that we worked extensively on shooting tactics and weapons manipulations , sometimes ill our fingers were bleeding . I think that all police officers in today's dynamic and ever changing policing environment should get more and more training like this instead of qualifying once a year or whatever their dept standard is . We all know it is one thing to stand static and shoot at a target , and another to practice actually handgun fighting moving , shooting and communicating . Keep this good shit up guys not that you need me to tell you how important what you are teaching is .

    Remember folks, one phrase which does NOT appear in the 2nd Amendment: "Except for against officers of the law" In fact by the spirit of the founding fathers the police forces are the PRIMARY reason for the existence of your and my right to not only KEEP them but BEAR them as well. Remember to keep arms is an intransitive verb, to BEAR them is a transitive verb. To bear arms necessarily refers to bearing them AGAINST SOMEONE OR SOMETHING

    This was a really good video. I take a lot out of these videos and use it when I train as well. The only thing bout this one in particular is... one of the guys on here just was not gripping the gun the way you’re supposed to. The muzzle flip was ridiculous and no one corrected him. I kept waiting for the gun to fly out his hand or pop him in The forehead. Not only was the grip unable to manage the recoil it looked like he was holding up to his face when he shot, arms bent instead of extended out in front. Was I the only one who noticed?

    The main problem I see all the time with new shooters is we go straight to self defense and not to the basic fundamentals. New shooters probably should start with bb guns or .22 rifles and fun targets before getting into the life and death stuff. A guy being told he can't shoot and it's life and death is like the guy who's in a hurry mashing the elevator button because he's late for a business meeting. I have never been to any of these classes based on fun. It has always been if you don't do well in this class, you're going to die. Some of these people are probably better off finding a steel match and having fun. There's thirteen year old girls who might be able to off some tips.

    At 16:40 this trainee should have just dropped that spent mag and just fluidly brought up the second mag...to much wasted time in a firefight, could and does get a officer deceased. My uncle was a Sheriff and killed in action because he didnt have strict traing on reload. I wouldn't want that officer in jeopardy because of a reload issue. Just drop that mag,dont worry of it, count your trigger pulls and on the last round, in one fluid motion you are pulling another mag and reloading. From trained instinct no matter of the threat...you count your fired shots, I have a twelve round mag in my bread and butter, i count my fires on my 11th, i drop the mag at 12 and am loading the next. I was awarded top brigadier and expert marksmanship in the Army because I learned these methods from my father who was special forces and my fathers brother who was the sheriff who died.... all because of faulty training.

      @@CarryTrainer Of course!!!! I enjoyed watching these fine officers learning from such a great trainer. IF the gentleman is yourself in the video, I commend you. This training will potentially save their life. I have seen to many cases where a officer is down, like my Uncle who was a Sheriff, killed in the line of duty ...the assailants took away my most loved family. May not seem big to general public, but when you have direct family ties to a officer of the law, it is a huge painful ordeal to lose your family. My best friend in high school is also a police officer. I was approached by all agencies to join when I ETS'd from the Military. However, I was DONE with all that. Was shot twice in active duty. Having ten times more training than a typical field officer, A Forward Assist Unit, wore a black beret, trained in Spec Ops-Green Beret - I said screw that, not joining a police force, Im done with all that.I did my time in service of protecting my Country. Got my badges of valor - the two bullet wounds.

    Let's be real, most police officers no matter the agency or bad shooters. Most departments only require annual qualification so after that the officers don't shoot until the next year. Then you have cops/officers don't have a gun other than the one the department gave them.
    Most officers DO NOT PRACTICE, nor do they care to because as long as they qualify barely their good until the next year or so that's it so no amount of training is going to change that.

    BTW..I never carry with a round in the chamber. But I can chamber a round faster than some opponent. This is a critical lesson. Many who carry for self defense debate this issue, chambered or non chambered. Myself...I never have a round chambered, this is from very strict training protocol,. My training was, never have a round chambered at ANYTIME..unless drawn for a critical situation> my training, i learned how to draw and chamber a round instantaneously. However , I do get it, this kind of intensive training may not be suitable for the public at large to learn. Only that my angle, it may save a small child's life, to a regular firearm owners family ...to never leave a firearm with a chambered round. Most children do not have the hand strength to actually get one in the receiver. However, most kids can figure out a safety. The problem is...gun owners think they need to have a round chambered. Even police officers have had their kids curious about their dads gun...and they ended up killing themselves. Because the officer kept one in the chamber, This is the most critical and important training of all.

    • @CarryTrainer
      @CarryTrainer  Před 5 lety +1

      Carry how you wish. The issue arises when you can't chamber a round. As for kids getting a gun....no one here would ever condone or recommend that any firearm be left unattended. If it's not on your body and there is any one that can gain access to the weapon, unload and lock up. Context and logical analysis is required. The comparions to "even cops" doesn't do it for me as most have little firearms training. The public assumes that police are weapons experts. This is simply not the case. Anything you would not want unauthorized access to should be stored in a manner to prevent said access. Pretty easy to do.

    • @liamalepta8003
      @liamalepta8003 Před 5 lety

      @@CarryTrainer Agreed. Acquiring firearm locks or safe's is required, I tend to think this should be incorporated into the laws of firearm purchases, some kind of training class for new gun buyers. I fortunately was trained very young in proper marksmanship, my parent, who was Special Forces in the Military, trained his boys as Militia, I went on, joined the Army, then Ranger School and Sniper School, just as we in the Military are instinctively trained, we turned our firearms into the armory to be locked up. We also were trained very intensively in clearing, cleaning and presenting arms. The theme I am laying down here is, we should indoctrinate a class, mandatory, that all firearm purchasers must qualify. Not just about firing, but all the other topics, like proper field stripping, proper handling and proper clearing( the clearing seems to be the problem that so many kids and gun owners are getting killed from - they simply just did not know how to properly perform )the said class teaches students. Always lock your guns up! Common sense! My thought, people who dont have common sense shouldn't own firearms, even in a open carry state, idiots still unholster their firearm in a public setting, which is a felony, nothing worse than a stupid felon. About the Police, however, they have had extensive firearms training, a sizable amount more than most of the public. Yet there are criminals who always try to push the boundaries of that, you know, thinking they are just going to win a shoot out and the police are going to go home. It doesn't work that way. There is always bigger departments, essentially....shit does roll up hill. Criminals are stupid to think they will win firefights with Police. Multiple agencies come in. I am saying this from experience from a situation that escalated to the point, I was deployed in the military, like homeland security.

    • @liamalepta8003

      I live in Arizona, we can conceal. I have a problem with this as a gun owner, I do not like the fact that I can not see if a person is armed. Respect is the duty. So, I open carry, everyone sees, there is no surprises. Likewise myself, i want to see your firearm. Hiding or concealing makes me nervous. I am all for our 2nd Amendment, but I am not really for conceal carry. It is a respect issue. Have the respect for other people to see that you are armed, because concealing 'in a rudiment way' - in my mind, that the person is up to something malicious, may not be the case, but that is the train of thought, sane people think when someone is concealing a firearm. Respect for another is telling them you are armed or open carry visual. Also, people who are legal, who have their firearms registered in their name,.you almost never see many violations, however you see mass madness with illegally owned firearms. A illegal firearm is why some would conceal. I am not worried when some guy has a open carry, firearm, i dont even bat a eye at this, because he is giving me/others, direct respect, but hiding your firearms..scares the hell out of me. - I figure that this forum is a great place to start, to teach others proper firearms handling.

    • @liamalepta8003
      @liamalepta8003 Před 5 lety

      We do have conceal carry here in Arizona... However there are restrictions to this, Just so your other people know....The firearm needs to be in a proper HOLSTER, in your waist band. Even in a conceal carry state, it is still illegal to brandish a firearm that is not in a proper, certified, store sold holster. This means you cant just shove that 9mm down your pants and call it 'GOOD'. I do conceal but when I am in a public setting, I tuck my shirt behind my waistband holstered firearm, that is in a proper holster. THAT is the law about conceal carry...your gun needs to be in a proper holster, i dont like pocket guns for this reason....because despite state conceal carry laws, that is a brandished firearm, it is not in a certified holster. I am writing to CLARIFY stuff ...because if you just waistband your pea shooter, un holstered, you will still spend some days in a jail cell, or prison.

    All of this is BS. The main reason that people miss, is because they are doing something "extra" right before the trigger breaks the shot(preparing for the BLAST). You ever notice that your sights don't move one millimeter, when you're dry firing? Yea... So, stop pushing on the gun, or squeezing it a little harder, right before the shot breaks. Result? Bullseye every time. Until you master that, the rest of this crap is irrelevant.
