In this video, I'll be reacting to the insane world record Pantheon of Hallownest Tool Assisted Speedrun! It's made by Cuber Knight, who you should give a subscribe to. The run was completed in just 14 minutes and 56 seconds, which is about 2.5 minutes faster than the world record set by a player. Hope you enjoy this awesome TAS! It’s optimal because it deals psychological damage to the boss when you start attacking them

I have to applaud Cuber Knight, because not only did the TAS bow to all of the nailmasters (sly included) but he let grimm bow too. Barely any other person has the common courtesy to bow to them.
Well, not letting Grimm bow wastes time, I think, since it makes him start his pufferfish attack.
it does make him start his pufferfish attack, but the one thing I am quite unhappy about is the fact he didn't bow to the sisters of battle

@@nonymouswisp8176 yeah, probably with a tas. The ai manipulation this TAS used was amazing and it only took one abyss shriek. For humans though, dream nail -> abyss shriek is pretty dang good
most of the timesave is probably from Nail Cancel turnarounds on every hit EVEN ON SIDESLASHES through the use of a tiny one frame turnaround, across the 40+ fights that is bound to save so much time lol

@James Orendorff the knight slash, turn around, slash and repeat, which cancel the stop frame after each slash
the nailslash animation with quick slash is about 0.32s iirc, turning around cancels the last 0.07s or so of the animationand lets u reslash earlier than just slashing would

On the wiki: Quick slash can do the following
- reduce attack duration to 0.28 second (which is basically how long the slash animation stays)
- reduce attack cooldown to 0.25 second (when that time ran out, you can slash again)
*Remember the difference between attack duration and attack cooldown*
You can attack again after the attack cooldown end (which mean you can attack every 0.25 second), however, because of the attack duration, you cannot attack again before the attack duration end, so you are force to attack every 0.28 second. But here something interesting.
If you turn around (by moving in a opposite direction of your player) the attack duration cancelled, thus removing the 0.28 second from the attack duration, and there's only the 0.25 second from the attack cooldown. And by exploiting that, you can slash every 0.25 second if you consistent at cancelling the attack duration by turning around

TAS like putting stuff when they have to wait. There, it bows, but sometimes the tas makers do weird or flashy glitches

Deserves mentioning that TAS generally involves a lot of RNG manipulation as well. The TAS didn't respond quickly to No-eyes conveniently spawning next to it, it summoned her there.
I thought that before too. While it is possible in some games, but for HK it isn’t practical even for the TASer because of the sheer number of rng calls per frame. Check out Raylea’s latest video interview with ConstructiveCynicism (Any% NMG TAS) for the nitty gritty of HK TAS. It’s just that they can predict the spawn location as Fire mentioned, but manipulating HK rng needs a good amount of random luck 🙂

It's worth to point out that this is 14:56 REAL TIME, with all the loads between every boss. The (crazy) 17:29 that is wr is game time. This TAS is amazing

I was wondering, why doesn't the TAS collect soul from the false knight's armour after death? It doesn't lose any time, and it doesn't hurt to be able to use a spell at the start of mossy, right?
It might be more efficient to just nailslap Mossy for a while
Fury nail swings just generally outdamage spells by a lot. But maybe there would've been a use for the soul.
Maybe it was rng manipulation for mossy
I’m not sure what version this was played on- from my experience it looks like the False Knight armor thing has been patched in 1.5

This was honestly kinda funny to watch, which is odd given these normally feel a little stressful.
fireborn’s commentary and charisma as he explains what’s going on really helps. also the fact that he laughs at the fights where the TAS just bullies a boss that’s susceptible to knock back makes it feel like something you’re supposed to laugh at

Keep in mind there are 42 bosses in the Pantheon of Hallownest. That means this TAS killed a little less than 3 bosses per minute.
The way I feel watching a speedrunner is the way a speedrunner feels watching a TAS

Never seen someone in a rush to complete the last pantheon. You can really learn cool techniques, and skips from a speedrunner when you don't know much about hollow knight.

You need to see the radiant any radiance fire, the one who made it also made *charmless* any radiance
This is incredible, but what shocks me more is that it's only 2 minutes faster than the WR. People are insane!
If someone wants to watch a really fun TAS id recommend either the Metroid Fusion one or Metroid Zero Mission, the TAS is made to come off as really impatient and it makes up for some fun moments, specially if youve played the games
The Celeste tas is also a good time, spikes are just a suggestion

I think I get how air walk works. You jump on the first platform slightly before it spawns so it thinks you're always on the side of it (just a guess tho)
