I live in Sweden and have an American friend who is a Marine and Vietnam Vet. I love the way you American honour and respect your Vets and show them the appreciation for their services. BZ

You sir are very respectable yourself. Hello from Kentucky USA.

My uncle bought a 2001 ws6 my senior year of high school. He got a DWI in it, lost his license and I got to drive him around and man did he let me drive it like he did, pedal to the metal. I'll never forget my time driving that majestic machine while blasting Pantera/Metallica/Megadeth. Thats another thing about those cars, they had a pretty decent factory sound system. Man this brings back all the memories of whipping donuts and getting side ways.
Monsoon 8 speaker, IIRC. Yeah, light on bass (all cars were back then), but decent stock head unit w/ equalizer. Throw an amp and stealth box in w/ aftermarket head-unit, it'll bump well enough w/o being too heavy or cluttering the trunk area.
Still blasting the metal in my Elise, blow speakers every six months!
I wish I had that machine. Unfortunately my Uncle traded it for an SS cobalt and I have never forgiven him for it. He had something worth more than he paid for it and traded it for an economy turd box with a tiny turbo.@@keyser456
Still the same for me in my durango, well except for the blown speakers. Ever heard of Lazarus A.D.? @@CherylCold
You sir had a cool uncle and an even cooler experience!!!
I saw a 99 Trans Am back in 2006 sitting at a used dealership. A helicopter mechanic was selling it at the time. Garage kept. Ended up buying it first. A lot of people were trying to get bank approvals. Luckily at the time I had cash to pay. It was 12K total. 40k miles. I ended up putting an Ls6 in it with a Vortech S/C. Had so many good times in it. 6 Speed was awesome.
Dennis - I always appreciate how respectful and reverential you are to everyone, regardless of age. I'm not a huge car person, but I always love your videos because of your interest in the stories of the owners and their cars. Thank you.
❤❤❤❤
Once traveling I was on a layover at the DFW airport when a guy came up to me, shook my hand and said "thank you for your service" ... (I was wearing a VETERAN t-shirt), that guy was Dennis Collins
My dad before he passed used to work for Pontiac when these were brand new. Good memories I miss my dad !🇺🇲
Sorry for your loss, I miss my 01 grandprix GT.. the series 2 3.8L was a much stronger motor than the transmission lol.
I've been daily-driving my 2002 since I bought it in 2004. It's hands down my favorite car, but I wouldn't consider it the best ever made. As endearing as I find the interior to be personally, it's late 90's cheap GM plastic. Dash shattered years ago, door panels are cracked, you know, the usual, but damned if I don't love the car. I'd be buried in it if I could. The LS1 with a nice cam and ported 243 heads with a nice stall, she still keeps up with all the new stuff, so that's a good testament to the LS platform.
Back before the 2009 financial collapse. I had a small car dealership that specialized in the 98-02 SS Camaro’s Trans Ams, Firehawk’s etc. great vehicles and it was fun while it lasted.
Firehawks were the best looking, but I prefer the Formula 350 ( less plastic cladding ) and same engine .
Lighter and quicker 👌 my '89 Formula was the last muscle car bodystyle before the big chassis changes, which the following chicken-nosed 1990 debacle has to be ugliest version ever.
The 2002 ws6 is hands down the best handling , if not the quickest, and the Hawk version would scream . I got to ride in a brand new one that had a replacement engine done, by the local pontiac dealer , 1st oil change gone wrong ... I will never forget how easy it broke the tires loose at 50mph shifting into 3rd
Was your dealership called Veracka Motors in Brockton, MA?
Aok Motors in westminster colorado always had some here. Rocks auto had them all.
Wolf Motors Corona California
I had a 95 Z28 t-top in high school and I had so much fun in that car!! Every Friday after school/work washed it, shined it all up, took the t-tops off and went cruising with the windows down and music up. Only thing I did to it was Flowmaster exhaust, tinted windows, and add more bass to the Bose system. Miss that car but it gave me a lot of lifelong memories.
Cruising back in high school not a care in the world…damn I miss those days
@@melvinsmiley5295those days was the best even better than getting married and kids. In my opinion.
@melvinsmiley5295 boy you ain't kidding not to mention the world was just a better place late 90s early 2000s (when I was a teen)
Had a 93 t top z28 and only thing done was Flowmaster as well.. that I knew of anyway. Bought it used and had to replace the front bumper piece from a prior wreck. Got it cheap and had so much fun in it. For the time it was fast and just chewed up mustangs lol. One time.. once I got stupid and had it showing 145. Dunno if accurate but the gauge showed it at least. Many cars are faster but not being rich and having so little in a car that scared me was fun lol.
I have a 97 ws6 with slight mods love it
I love the way portrayed one of our military heroes at the end of the program keep up the great work
Thank you Dennis for honoring his service in the Marines and for saving a great car and all the other cars too !
Stand Up Guys!
@@MICHAELWALTON1I'm sure when he sells it he will make at least 30k that's about a 50k car with that low of miles.
as long as there's money in it for sure they are super stand up
As a former owner of a WS6 Formula, I have to say the TA was a bit heavier than the lighter Formula with the same engine, and the Formula didn't have overheating issues.
That said nothing looks as good as the Ram Air TA , in any year, in any color.
I've had my Trans am 12 years. Never over heats. I didn't know they had over heat issues
Those smiles during donuts....ear to ear like kids...priceless!!❤
WS6 was definitely a beast... but the 1970 Ram IV was awesome too... as well as the SD455 T/A's it kills me everyday that Pontiac is no longer in production.
I owned a SD-455 TA back in the early 1980’s. It was my high school college car. Unfortunately, I sold it in 1993, wish I’d never sold out screaming chicken.
I believe that the 74 SD Trans Am was considered the last muscle car of that era. It was pre smog and a high compression beast.
I bought a 70 Trans Am Ram Air IV in 1977 my senior year of high school for $3000 and didn't fully understand what I had at the time. That was a couple hundred cars ago. Never should have sold it!
I had a '72 455 HO Formula. 4speed posi, Ram Air IV w/ functional hood scoops..I've heard Dennis talk about '72 being a strike year and that fewer Firebirds were built that year. I often wonder how rare my car was.
With all due respect to Coffee Walk and Dennis Collins. I will refrain from bringing politics into the chat. So I will just say that the reason we no longer have Pontiac is because of a person who's name rhymes with Barack Obama.
I had a 2002 Firehawk Trans Am back when these were new. Getting rid of it remains one of my biggest regrets to this day. Especially given what I'd have to pay to get another one in that condition today. The fourth generation F-body remains my favorite car of all time.
And that snorkel hood was badass..
czcams.com/video/uvBNmFYPwnQ/video.html
No time like now. Here’s a 2002
I'm a second generation fan, having had a 74 Esprit and a 75 TA.
I had a red 97 WS6 Formula that I sold. Till this day, I regret selling it when I did. 😢
man the regret i sold this list for these cars is long and getting longer. but gotta do what ypu gotta do.
Love those cars. Especially the anniversary cars. So many people dislike that era of GM muscle, but it was unmatched in performance and style.
It wasn’t until like 2011-2012 that Ford finally matched/surpassed the HP in a 1998 Camaro Z28😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I had the privilege of driving one of these when I was a younger dude working for a detail shop. No one else could drive a manual so I got to run around in the car for a large portion of the day, picking it up a couple hours away, driving it to the shop, dropping it off at the auction after detail, etc. I will say it's difficult to argue the WS6 isn't one of the best cars ever made after you've driven one, especially when it was current. It's one car that's left a lasting impression on me. That thing was a beast and I had a blast spending the day with it.
Best show on the internet! Thank You to those who served 🇺🇸
That guy was having a blast. I bet he remembers that for the rest of his life 👏👏
The commercials that PMD put out for these back in the day was simply awesome!
My buddy had a triple black 6 speed ws6 back in the day. I absolutely loved that car, one of the funnest cars I've driven
I have a 1999 30th Anniversary Trans Am for sale, still has the window sticker on it 850 original miles
That white and blue color combo was nice
@@GNXperimental not really. looked stupid actually.
@@scotmandel6699I thought the same about you.
Between him and Jay Leno making videos about them, I'll bet prices keep going up on WS6 cars.

I love to see this. I have a 2000 WS6 that I bought about 8 years ago with 8k miles on it. It might pass 12k miles today, just enjoying it as I have time, amongst other vehicles. Glad to see these getting the attention they deserve!
😂😂 ok
@@KA-om9oz whats funny?
glad you're enjoying it! I bought a 2003 SVT Cobra last year with 5500 miles on it, just passed 8k miles last week because I drive it a few times a week for fun - we have to enjoy them while we can!
@MikeDawson1 heck yeah, great to hear! I have a few cars so it's real hard to rack up miles sometimes when I'm trying to get time in with them all.
I like the tribute at the end. Thank you to all who served. Really cool car - never knew about this one.
_And this is the very reason why I always watch Coffee Walk with Dennis Collins! What a great find, and a great testament to GM muscle in the early 2000s. (Shout out to another well-known CZcamsr who absolutely loves his 1000-horsepower custom WS6, Alex Palmeri)._
Im 45 years old now and since i was 19...the 4th gen ws6 in a black t-top 6-speed has been my dream car. One day!
Thanks for honoring our vets !! What a great find you have there!! I have a 2002 TransAm Convertible in Maple Red Metallic,(lowest color code combination of any Firebird in 2002)…My buddy has a 2000 Pontiac TransAm WS6 that he bought new, in black identical to this one…We both entered an Orphan Car Show a couple years ago at Grundy County Fair Grounds in Morris, Illinois…We parked right next to each other….He won a trophy for manufacturer no longer made from 2000 on up, and I won 1st place trophy as well for model no longer manufactured from 2000 on up…It was epic !!! Parked together and we won both classes with 2 Ultimate TransAms!!😎👍
Great video- still one of my favorite cars. As a high school kid I had a 96 WS6. I doubt Dennis remembers, but I worked at the Kwik Kar and he would bring me his jeeps and cars to do his state inspections and would to ask for me back in 07-08 in Wylie TX.
Guaranteed. Dennis remembers.
Great video, awesome find. I bought my 2002 WS6 brand new as well. Still have it. Still super clean. Has 99k miles on it, and it's been modified pretty well, and is still streetable.
Dennis, you have quickly become my favorite car guy on CZcams! Get you some of that!!
Agree....however do not add any of the alcoholic moron Richard into his great work. Just disrespectful.
What a fun episode!!! Why Coffee Walk doesn't have 10M subscribers is beyond me. Loved how Dennis genuinely thanked the owner for his service. Such a class act.
I love these cars, always have. Bought a 2000 Black on Black Ws6 auto last year. It's fantastic. Looks exactly like this car except it has the better wheels (imo, before they changed them in mid 2001). Even in bone stock automatic form, these cars are fun, exciting to drive, and also really livable. I daily drive mine and take it on trips to the city all the time. Great cars. I just wish GM had given the Trans Am a classier interior. It was like $8,000 more than the Camaro. Leave the plastic for the Camaro, give the T/A more!
You got headrests with adjustable lumbar in the seats. GM only somewhat recently got their heads out of their asses by putting decent interior into their sports cars. I had a 99 C5 and it's interior was only slightly nicer than an fbody.
@@zztop7306 This is true. Oh, the General. Can't live with him, can't live without his cars lol
You couldn't wipe the smile off of Mike's face the whole time he was in the Trans Am! Thanks, Dennis, for saving this beauty by getting her out on the road and honoring this Marine! They really need to bring back our beloved Trans Ams so we can dominate the Camaro once again with our class and style! I have four Trans Ams right now, two of which need to be restored, but I would give up the two for the WS6 in a heartbeat! 🔥 🔥 🔥
this is the final year for the Camaro. The Mustang is the only muscle car being built after 2024
Best part of video...Dennis didnt even want to talk price...he didnt care...he was buying it no matter the cost....THAT IS WHEN SOMEONE LIKES/KNOWS WHAT HE SEES IS THE BEST.
In high school i “Lost” the keys to my 95 2 door Tahoe sport
My girl friend now wife had a friend with one of these that let me drive my wife home in it.
After i dropped my wife off i took it to the high school parking lot at arlington high and did the most effortless dawgnuts ever. Insane car!
I always talked about that ws6 with such high regard, glad to know its been validated by Dennis.
That was the wrong window sticker. That one said 1995 Trans Am with 6 speed. The original price of the 2002 was around 33k.
Mike was having such a blast ! I enjoyed his excitement .
I remember being 18 working as a lot man at a Chrysler GMC dealer and we got one in as trade in. I’d normally be tasked to pick up lunch for the dealership and I could take any car I wanted. Well we had a freshly traded WS6 with a full cat back exhaust. Boy was I in heaven!
It's awesome to see someone like Dennis love an old fbody TA. They are great cars.
I’ve got an 01 WS6, black on black, 6 speed, with 55k miles on it that I bought new. Love that car, especially cruising with the T-tops out. I left it all original, but I do have a 67 Camaro completely modded too in my collection along with a 71 Cheyenne 10 and an 85 K5 Blazer 4x4 with a 4” lift kit and 12.50x35 tires.
i wished i could afford those toys, great choices. i have a 2003 bonneville SSEi 3800 supercharged. it's not completely rotted but it's far from perfect. it runs and drives strong, i park it in the winter. a previous owner did put the poor car through a few winters and it had some rot around the wheel wells inside the trunk. i had to cut that crap out and replace some metal. structurally the car is sound, the floors are solid, the body is nice and the interior is decent. i did the usual PCM tune and pulley swap, i really like the 3800. very durable, very reliable and fairly decent fuel economy for a supercharged 6 cylinder.
Love all your choices, I got the same car with 53. Love it!
@@Speed_-vt7iq the bonneville never got the 5.3. it did get the northstar in the 04 and 05 GXP. the GXP grand prix got the 5.3 in it's last generation.
I mean I got the same 01 ws6 black on black 6spd with 53k miles
@@Speed_-vt7iq that’s wild! The exact same year car with virtually the same amount of miles on them. I’m in Dawsonville, GA.
Dennis is a true gentleman. Thank you for supporting us.
I love the respect that you give our veterans. I can't wait to see a follow-up on this car after y'all get her cleaned up
Love the WS6! I could not afford one back in the mid 2000's so In 2006 picked up a base 1995 TA out of Florida 5.7 with the 6 speed manual and have put 40k miles on it in 17 years summer fun T-Tops paid $7k for it. I live in Maine.
I had that exact car bought brand new in 2002. I wish I wouldn't have got rid of it, but I had to get to work in the winter...
My stepbrother had one of those about 15 years ago and came back to town for a class reunion and made me drive it for the weekend and it is a beast. He lives in North Dakota and only got to drive it 4 months a year because of the weather so he sold it later that year.
Got my black 2002 WS6 6-speed in my garage still. Love it. Even have original window sticker, Last of the Breed certificate, and great condition.
That looked like fun..thanks for taking us along for the ride..food looked great. Nice day to be alive..

The General Motors of Canada plant in Ste-Thérèse, Quebec produced the firebird trans ams until it's closure in early 2000's. Here's an interesting story, the gm engine plant in St Catherine's Ontario Canada produced the corvette engine during that period . A couple of engineers that worked there managed to get the vette engine installed into the trans am illegally at the plant Quebec. Some how upper brass found out about it afterwards and seized all the cars from there homes and destroyed all of them and all of them lost there jobs. That would of been the ultimate firebird to have of all time. I know this is true since I knew an engeer that worked there and told me the whole thing and how it went down.
Weren't they the same engines?
@davidsantos8206 no, that's why gm seized and destroyed the cars, because not rated to handle on a factory original. Gm could of got sued if a fatality occurred. It wasn't a 2002 model, I am not sure, over 20 years ago now.
The other side of the 15
Lol great story..however, isn't that is where the Firehawk was produced, using independent suspension and higher performance parts normally found on the corvette ? So , some employees have been modifying their own cars using 'stock ' aftermarket parts, and they were busted for, what, espionage? Theft or something worse? Rumors that there were several homebuilt TA's cloning the firehawk surrounded that era, bcuz test cars don't always get crushed they get sold and revived...
And the part about confiscation raises serious doubts ..
@williammc3183 it's not a story, it actually happened, I was told by an engineer that worked there that did not want to give to many details in fear of getting introuble. Car manufacturers don't want stuff to get out, it makes them look bad. I don't care if you don't believe, have a very nice day, bye.
If only my dad got a ws6, but hes a one owner of a 02 camaro ss with 20,000 miles and it's been in temp controlled garage since day one. The car is very sentimental to him and me because he claims I sold him that car on the showroom floor when I was 12 years old. I was blown away and excited that it was even an option for him to buy that car. Never had the extra money for a sports car, so I wasn't letting him leave the dealer without buying that camaro in fear he would change his mind if he slept on it. I've been buying and selling cars ever since
the Veteran tribute at the end brought a tear to my eye. That's what makes you a man Mr. Collins.
Kudos to Dennis for always showing the utmost respect to others!

Thank you for honoring that gentleman. Once a marine, always a marine. My dad was a marine first and then joined the army and also went to vietnam. Myself I went to the navy and my job was to take the Marines to the beach. I drove the assault crafts. That firebird is one bad ass car.

In 2002, my wife and I took a vacation down in Miami to go to the keys. We rented a convertible and when we went out to the lot to get the car, not knowing what we were going to get, there it was a WS6 trans am convertible. Honey, quick get in the car before they change their minds. Headed down to Key West and had a great time in a great car. Thanks.
That car was so far beyond its time Absolutely beautiful !!!what a find my dream car!!!!!!!!!!
I have a 1994 Pontiac Firebird Formula I have owned since I was 16. I bought it non-running in 2017 as a Junior in High School. I can attest that these cars are underrated regarding the horsepower figures and that they are donut-cutting machines as I discovered myself when I was a teenager. Even now, whenever I am in it and come across an empty parking lot, I absolutely cannot help but cut a donut or two in it. It so effortlessly does donuts and is so easy to control. Even though my LT1 is bone stock, it definitely gets right with it when you put the hammer down. I could never part with the car. Way too much fun and so many cherished memories that I have created in it.
I had a 2002 ws6 black on black 6spd for about 13 years. Until an F250 Superduty decided to rearrange the rear end. I did a lot of work to that car, got thumbs up everywhere. I truly miss that car.
No way man sorry hear that. Thats one thing im afraid of. I also have a 02 black ws6

Dennis is a class act! Thanks for a great show! Now maybe this is the best of your finds???? It is hard to chose, as you have had so many. HA!
I worked at a Chevrolet dealership in the late 90s early 2000s and when our ordering manager got a Camaro SS he went all the way with the SLP package not just the decals, but all the mechanical modifications they would do for it. By far and away a 6 speed was SS faster than a Corvette from 2000 through 2002.
Not faster than a 2000 FRC. I owned both a 2000 FRC and 2002 WS6, both 6 speeds. Vette would eat it everyday of the week...
I own an '02 SLP SS. I've had it ten years now. It has 70,000 miles on it and it's a blast. Truly some of the best money I ever spent.
Well that's just an outright lie lol how is a vehicle hundreds of pounds lighter with the same drive train losing out to a heavier vehicle with the same rear end gear (when both are 6 speeds)? And "by far and away" at that? Lmao lay off the pipe big guy.
@@mikeross111 yes, the vette was faster when set up with a six speed and the “hard top “ package, but most of the vettes making it to the showroom were autos with the sport seat package.
@@zztop7306 most vettes of that era were slushbox autos with the sport seat package. A proper 6 speed slp SS was just better. And unless you were optioning the vette with the “ hard top” option, it was only marginally lighter.
I can speak for my 2001 T/A WS6 being a great car to own. It was super reliable, and made it to 250k before hydra-locking the engine due to a bad head gasket, which was my fault for not changing the coolant regularly. It then sat several years while adult life things happened. I put it back on the road last year with a new LS2, rebuilt front end components, as well as rear axle refresh and new control arms and bushings. The 4L60e is still doing great at 266k, so I'm leaving it alone! It's a t-top car, and the weatherstripping is still supple, and the car never leaks, and the doors shut with very little effort. My driver's seat is just now starting to split a seam on the side bolster. Otherwise, the interior looks very nice. Sunset Orange metallic and taupe/neutral interior.
If you really have a Sunset Orange Metallic Trans Am WS6 you better hold on to it. That color is rare.
With our family tree with 13 Marines in it------your respect for those who served is way beyond appreciated!!
Semper Fi! Dennis, How do you find these incredible cars?!!! Love it.😊
I think this show and his genuine nature lets the cars come to him. He is someone people trust with their life long treasures.
GM definitely under-rated the power of the WS6. If this car has the LS6 like the red 2002, it will have 385 HP.
LS6 intake, not LS6 engine there boss. 2001 LS6 engine had 385hp and 405hp from 2002-2004. That’s what you’re thinking of.
4th Gen Fbodies are criminally under appreciated. I bought a 97 trans am dirt cheap and i love that car. fun to drive and cruise around in.
My favorite all time good ole American Muscle Car!!! Luv Ya Dennis even though i never met you, thnkx for your JOY and content! 🎉🎉🎉
I really love how Dennis doesn't talk people down on the price and take advantage of people like Richard does and beat them up on price
Dumb take, people aren't forced to sell. Besides Dennis doesn't show the negotiations (on those occasions when he doesn't give asking price) on camera or mention the price. I don't blame him, I'm just saying. Richard shows both
In 2002 Pontiac was putting the LS6 block in some of these due to a shortage I believe. Check it just in case, might make it worth a little more. Also, WS6 is simply an RPO code, doesn't mean anything other than it having the RAM air hood and a beefier suspension.
And exclusive WS6 wheels?
@@DanEBoyd Good catch, forgot about the wheels.
Well Done team Coffee walk, that is definitely an amazing car and even a one owner with 6000 original miles OMG!!! Dennis I know you will make this Beautiful car shine !!! I admire how you always pay respects to ALL Veterans Dennis ...
I was not aware that the 2002 was ao highly regarded. My mouth was watering during the BBQ segment.
Still want a WS6!!
