I was afraid i would get spoiled but, as it turns out, we seem to have made almost exactly the same decisions. Strange.

The video has mostly footage form my first run. I did a few more with different choices and results as part of my research but somehow the progression of my first run seemed to me the more "conventional/mainstream" one. I have no idea what percentage of the players made these specific options, it would be interesting if Obsidian gave those numbers at some point

This was a fantastic video, Pentiment is my favorite game. The idea is so unique, I would love some DLC for it

Thank you! Because of the nature of Pentiment's narrative, I don't think it is easy to add DLC that can significantly extend it. But I too would like to see some more stories about Andreas and the people of Tassing

Watched both your Pentiment videos and all I've gotta say is: great work, you surely provide trough words your perspective and very personal thought on it and it makes it very insightful. Props to u

Thank you! I love Pentiment and there is still a lot to say about it. I will eventually get back to it for at least one more video.

You are very funny, wise, and take the time to do your research. I will subscribe to you. I noticed much of the same things that you have about Pentiment, however, you went even more out of your way to learn about the history of the game. Much respect. Until then.

Thank you! I plan to make more of these videos. There are a lot of games out there who are directly based on real world history or contain many elements from it.

Loved this video and the other pentiment one, gonna check more of your content but I felt like sharing something that is your discouse in this video made me realize something about myself. I have lost the interest in studying history years ago as I went to high school: because (at least how it is taught in my country) it is way too impersonal. Rarely you'd hear about the regular person perspective because Columbus is such a pivotal guy so you just have to know the ship's name.
Even going in museums later I always prefered to see mundane stuff that depicted real life as it went.
I realize it's not an objective approach and there is importance in the bigger picture but in conclusion your video made me realize why while playing Pentiment I felt again joy in learning history.
    Thanks for that!

Thank you! I understand what you mean about losing interest in history going through high school. The way history is taught in schools is just terrible, it rarely allows people to make a connection with it and their own lives or if it does it is frequently in a negative way. As I mention in the video games like AC and Total War can make people interested in history but they too miss the element of how it affects everyday life and how our everyday life and actions can affect history. In my opinion, Pentiment is the only game that got this right and I wish we will see more of this sort of game in the future.

I was little bit disappointed that your decisions in murder investigations do not matter, or to put it differently - what you'll decide will always be the truth. But later I realized that's part of the message the game is trying to tell. Your insights were spot on, especially at the end of the video, where you compare portrayal of history by different games and showing what makes Pentiment unique.
Just for feedback: the sound effects in the video were very loud :) Also I didn't understand why you've put" censored" over the hand drawn in-game bodies? If it's only because youtube, I think cartoon violence isn't a reason to demonetize video.

Thank you! Balancing sound, in general, is something I'm still learning to do properly but I think I'm getting better at it. As for the joke, it was more of a tongue and cheek censor. This video was my first attempt at a more fun essay-style video instead of the usual "historical elements list" video I do. So some of the visual jokes kind of worked, and some of them didn't :)

i'm glad i found your channel! loved the game, figured out who the thread puller was halfway through by the good old method of exclusion (the mystic's purple coat hint escaped me tho).
the flawed investigations and trials bothered me to no end lol. i still think noone of the suspects are guilty for baron's murder, ugh....

Loved the video and your perspective about how history is handled so differently in Pentiment compared with other games. I have a recommendation of another game for you to explore, if I may. Have you played Heaven’s Vault? It is an unique game that puts you into the role of this archeologist/translator and the main mechanic of the game is translating an ancient forgotten language. It’s not a game based in our world, so the history aspect is not realistic but the game makes a similar point to Pentiment in the way it shows that history and our ancestors’ legacy is something that is ever evolving and not clear objective facts.
Thank you for your lovely videos!

Thank you! A couple of people have already suggested Heaven's Vault to me and a friend actually gifted me a Steam code for it! When i started working on history in video games videos I desided that i should do them in one indie title-one AAA title groups. The last videos i did was for Plague Tale so technically the next should be some AAA title. But it is not some rule writen in stone so maybe I'll do this one :)
