This food court and supermarket offers a variety of Japanese foods, from sushi to bento boxes to ramen. This is Mitsuwa's newest location in Los Angeles, and it's a really neat futuristic-looking grocery store and food court in Torrance’s Del Amo Mall. Thank you, we took a trip to this store based on your video and were not disappointed!
Awesome Zillabeast!
I remember when this was in the old location on Western and going further back when it was called Yaohan. Should note that the ice machine in the market is not potable water. It’s used just to keep packaged items cold. I’m there about once or twice a week, cutting up some sashimi in the foam tray with my trusty pocket knife.
thats when my dad used to own it, good times!
I prefer tokyo Central in Gardena
Love Mistuwa, there's a smaller branch next to my house, and they blast anime and jpop music and even have an attached manga store. I get rice balls, ginger pickles and miso pastes every month.
I love that there is a food court there along with the supermarket. The sushi and sashimi being sold there looks quite good!
It's all quite tasty!
Another wonderful video I lived down the street from one in san diego
This is the location I go to. It was a lot better at it's previous location a few years ago, they actually just finished demolishing the old location a couple of weeks ago
Great video, Chris! Love Mitsuawa!!!
Japan is ❤!

BIG fan of Mitsuwa, especially for its sushi. My go-to is the one in San Diego, which looks a lot smaller than then one you went to. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks wildfoodietours! I enjoy the one in San Diego too.. but yes... this one in Torrance is much bigger... and better :)
My favorite Japanese market in the South Bay and Santouka is the best!! Thank you for doing this great video
Mmm. Santouka. Aaahhhh
Looks great! I’ll have to check it out next time I go to Torrence.
Great video. Been there once but now I want to go back. Thank you!
You should!
I went to the one in Waikiki almost everyday on my trip in Easter. Love it.
The best!
There is one of the Mitsuwa Marketplaces in Edgewater, NJ. I love it! Great place to shop for some treats and a good food court!
Stay in the Miyako hotel and get a traditional Japanese breakfast in Torrance.
Mmm
@@YellowProductions yes, we miss Japan
Will have to remember that
Japanese fried chicken is something I’ve never had but I wonder about how it would taste. Another fun video.
You'd like it 😀
It's really damn good.
I had it a fair few times when I was in Japan
I wish the Mitsuwa in Norcal was this nice
Great video!I go here & that ice machine is like Mickey D’s ice cream machine lol i call it Hawaiian supermarket coz it’s like Don Quixote in HNL. My fave is their Japanese spaghetti 😍
Thanks Babe! Have you been to Tokyo Central in Gardena? That is actually Don Quijote just like in Hawaii 😀
The Mitsuwa near me in Irvine is amazing. It’s smaller then the one in Torrance!
Also one in Costa Mesa! Ive been the Torrance one and the Culver City one too: they seem to have different food courts, so it's worth it to check each one out for that.
Thanks for the video Chris! You saved me a 40 minute drive 😃
Glad I could help! 😀
We have a Mitsuwa in San Jose, but it's much smaller than the Torrance location!
🤯 - $400 rice cooker? I got mine 4 $12.99 @ Walmart..works great.🤩👍
Hah
Planning to go to California later this year. Great video as always.
Awesome! Thank you!
If you want japanese food in LA, go to Daikokuya in little tokyo.
My first job was at a inside mall store in Del Amo in 1984...back when it looked exactly like the beginning of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" :P I moved to another state in 1987 so you can understand my jaw on the ground! Heh
Hi Chris, there is a Tokyo Central Supermarket coming to Irvine, it will have a large food court as well. I like TC more than Mitsua because of lower prices and better selection of bentos, shabu meat and sashimi.😊
I'm looking forward to it Pierce! I find it interesting how they decided to open right next to the Mitsuwa in Irvine 😀
@@YellowProductions those are actually 2 seperate plazas with different landlords, I am sure Mitsua is pretty unhappy...
@piercechan Yeah. I'm not surprised that the landlord would rent to Tokyo Central. Im just more surprised Tokyo Central picks so close.. I guess there probably aren't alot build to suit locations left in Irvine
i love TC! When their meat is reaching the best before date they mark it %50 off! amazing deals on some high quality meat and fish! All of their products are cheaper than mitsuwa.
There's a Tokyo Central in Gardena CA that's really really good. That one and the Mitsuwa in the video are two of my regularly shopping haunts
I thought I recognized this specific location. I've been going to this place's udon place for a while now and still enjoying it
My local Mitsuwa! I eat at the ramen place all the time and they have some great affordable handrolls. Down the street there's a Tokyo Central that you should've visited as well!
Mmm. I've been to that Tokyo Central. Just haven't made a video on it 😀
You make very good videos, i wish if your videos had more views. Keep up the good work and all the best.
Thank you very much!
Hi Chris. The best supermarket is Nijiya in Gardena/Torrance. Much better sashimi and other items.
Hi Chris. Mitsuwa is a great market for Japan products. We have a Nijiya Market but it doesn't compare to Mitsuwa. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks James. Nijiya is cool too. But yeah. They are definitely much smaller than the average Mitsuwa
Mitsuwa needs to open up in Las Vegas.
The Torrance location looks like it’s got more variety of stuff than the one in Costa Mesa.
always have lunch there when i am in torrance
Tasty!
We got that here in san diego too
Cool now I know what all those things are Arigato ⛩️
nice 👍
I like their sushi
Mmmm
WOW! Our San Diego Mitsuwa doesn’t hold a candle to this in terms of food! Only Santouka and Musashiya. Time to take a trip north!
The Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa also has a really good food court too
Long time ago there was a other store there.
Dang Mitsuwa in San Jose needs a refresh desperately to match this location.
It’s nice just pricey
💜💜💜😊
Meanwhile Japan is a 1 hour flight for me 😅
I’ll be driving from Vegas. Any recommendations on a place to stay in Torrance? My trip is for this store 😆.
If you're on a Japanese theme you could stay at the Miyako Hybrid Hotel in Torrance.. it's a Japanese hotel
I am hoping and praying that Mitsuwa would open in the Washington, D.C. area for years. But I guess there's no market for them in the nation's capital area. Most chain Asian markets in this area are run by Korean-owned groups with little and expensive Japanese products. We would have to drive to New Jersey next to the Hudson River to get to the nearest Mitsuwa. lol
Yeah. It is weird how there's no legit Japanese Supermarket in DC
"karrruaaageeeee"...😅
Chris, have you noticed if they carry milk from Hokkaido? When we were in Hokkaido last month, we really enjoyed the milk and ice cream....best ever! At our Mitsuwa in San Jose, they do not import Hokkaido milk.
Negative. I haven't seen any imported milk. Pudding yes. Apple Juice yes. But milk no
@@YellowProductions same here, guess I'll just have to travel to Hokkaido again next year, lol!
Yum chris did you have fun at comic con ?
Sure did Adam!
Awesome Chris I wish I was there to hangout.
Considering how things are going in Florida right now, chances are we might be cancelling our plans for Orlando this December.
If we still go to America, though, I'll have to keep this place in mind for when I'm in the mood for some good Japan food and other goods.
Bummer
Out of all the Asian markets in the Southbay, we like Mitsuwa's selection the best.
Just like Japan except the prices😂
Best?? I'm not sure about that... Tokyo Central in Gardena, owned by the same people as Don Quixote chain, is the best Japanese Market in SoCal.
Cute
The one in Costa Mesa is waaayyyy better than
I do like the food court in Costa Mesa.. I'm looking forward to seeing how it looks once they finish the remodel
The more you make the more you waste. I paid $26 for my rice cooker Not $400 and it works perfect.
This video works better if you mute the audio ☝🏼
hah
I'm sorry, but how did you miss Santouka Ramen in the food court? It's one of the best ramen in the Southbay and you totally skipped over it, dude. :(
I love Santouka as you can see here: czcams.com/users/shortsMnFimjJGKJk?feature=share
@@YellowProductions Ah, right on, dude!
If you're willing to go out of your way for it. Daikokuya in little Tokyo is on another level
NO it's not the best .... You must've been turned down to film at the much bigger market formerly called MARUKI , now called Tokyo Central Market in Gardena which is only a few miles north of there .... Matter of fact , there's a couple smaller Japanese groceries right across the street there , Mini Tokyo Central and Seiwa markets
Mitsuwa used to be a lot better before it moved to delamo. Other mitsuwas in california are probably better than this one
I do miss the previous Torrance location. My current favorite is the Costa Mesa one. Whats yours?
Try Nijiya Market in Torrance. It’s MUCH better than Mitsuwa. I’m Japanese so I’m saying as a native.
Hi Robert -- thanks for the tip. What do you find better at Nijiya?
I like your videos but it IS NOT the best japanese supermarket. I would rather go to Marukai/Tokyo central any day just up the street in gardena. This mitsuwa sucks compared to the old location on western as well. The only redeeming factor of it is that santouka is there.
It's actually good that you butcher the Japanese pronunciation. The Japanese like it that way.
