I remember first reading this and thinking he was just doing that as a distraction, letting Tombstone hear what he wanted to hear and Peter had been called for backup or something. But the backup never came and I was left confused and disappointed.

Seeing how Peter looked beaten by some C level villain that’s more threatening to Daredevil with some nobody crooks with roses instead of someone like the Kingpin, I was thinking if this is something when he was still younger and inexperienced or a different universe, but the moment I saw Paul, I immediately went “oh no, this is a Zeb Wells era. Now I remember why I took a hiatus from caring about Marvel. It wasn’t the MCU but the comics…”
I can see it more fitting for Daredevil or the Punisher, (maybe Batman?) to be in a bloodied mess, tied down, threatened by Tombstone, and needs to be saved by someone, but Spider-Man? The same guy who fought and survived from the Phoenix 5, Morlun, and the Red Goblin? Hard to believe the same guy who fought the Avengers and X-Men would be in a horrible state by some low level threats and would’ve been killed unceremoniously if it weren’t for some regular guy with a gun.

the thing i learned from pvp video games is that:
starting to troll/purposly drag the game/make fun of enemies when you clearly winning is the most effective way to throw out of the window a victory that otherwise was guaranteed thing...lol
