Some very nice upgrades there. A hopped up TT02 feels so much better imo 😇
I have upper deck from Fibre-Lyte in UK 👍

People new to Tamiya will never understand they will reproduce like rabbits 🐇
Good luck on the 01X challenge!

Get a TT-02 D kit and get ball bearings, a motor heat sink, oil filled dampers, sport tuned motor, probably more, and all for a reasonable amount more. I bought one and decided to get another and make a touring car from that kit rather than a TT-02 standard kit, I have some good road tires and now have spare drift tires too. Look into it, just not many bodies for the chassis option though. I like getting extra bodies too though for the few chassis I have, painting is part of the fun. Enjoy following your progress and will be making my own TT-02 journeys also buying pinion gears and spur gears myself now.

Thank you for watching and the time for your comment. Think I’ll be sticking with the 3 I have now.

I just got back from Japan and picked up a bunch of hop ups some Tamiya and some Eagle Model. The car runs really nice now and I also have enough spares to have a second TT02. The parts there are cheap where it says 750 for the deck that 750 yen or 3.75 quid which is what I paid for mine woohoo, thanks work for sending me to Japan.

Nice. Not sure my company will send me to Japan, Skegness if I’m lucky.

@rctamiyaaddict4687 that's one thing I'm lucky with as my job is for the Asia Pacific Region from Japan to New Zealand and the rest of the world sometimes. So I'm always looking for a bargain or something new as long as it fits in the luggage.

I would like to put the carbon upper deck on mine. Did you get it from JK-RC? Also, I love the Tamiya rally cars, I have a few myself but I really want an Escort cosworth like yours. Stunning looking car!

Bought the upper deck from eBay and the Cosworth shell again off eBay through a supplier called Kamtec. They also have website.

Major problem is the gear ratio on a TT is way too low for speedruns. Most you can get out of the mod 0.6 pitch is 5,74 FDR with 64/29 combo. Thats great for a 17,5 blinky but nowhere near what you need.
Do yourself a favor and switch it over to a 48 pitch with the yeah racing slider motor mount. HRC black delrin spurs are bolt on to the tamiya high speed spur holder. If you want a daily 48 ratio kimbrough 301 66/24 with 2 extra holes to mount it. That gives you a FDR of 7,15. That's fine for the box stock torque tuned or hotter brushed can.
My final drive ratio was 4.4 with a 60/35 48 pitch and a hole in the spur cover to hold such large gear. On top a F540 4370kv on 3s. That was good for 60 mph+
Number for said spur gear is HRC 74860 LW for the 60 48dp and Kimbrough KB301 for the 66 48dp

Wow. Some great advice there, thank you. Do want to explore the different gear sets, moving for 06 to 48.

@@333UNLUCKY HRC is the brand. There is others by 3racing. The white spurs have turned out to be less durable. Black delrin is what you are looking for. Making new holes isnt a big deal with a body reamer and a 2mm steel drill bit.

The carbon upper deck and battery holder are useless upgrade as much as the carbon fiber bumper holdef. Alu steering linkage, high torque servp saver, alu propeller, oil shocks and adjustable arms are the best ipgrades u need. If u want to compete oil diff and cvd is not a bad idea, it is just a very expenaive set and , forthat price, j qould get some higher end car

Hop ups are a rabbit hole. That’s what the project was all about, seeing if they did any good
