    What an unsuspected poet is hidden behind the appearance of a thoughtful hi-fi critic ... I almost have tears in my eyes!

    Great fun with a little satirical touch. Your reviews are truly a refreshing alternative to American baseball caps.

    My favourite review so far, Paul and what an intro! Too many great quotes to extract, but I'll settle on. "You can't really go wrong... it's a great all-rounder"

    Came late to this party, Paul, but glad I did. I’m wondering what to use when my MF A308 finally gives up the ghost and the Tucana II is on my shortlist. This is the power amp section of it, of course, and I’m delighted you like it. Great review and I loved the intro. Thanks.

      Sure Simon - in the description of all my reviews, I list the reference kit at the bottom. Just scroll down to see.

    Hey there, have you heard the non anniversary edition by any chance ? I upgraded my speakers to Focal 936 K2’s and my Leema Pulse amp doesn’t have enough grunt to push them. I’m a University student again with kids and I didn’t think I’d need to upgrade my amp so have to address this shortfall as cheaply as possible and I know of a Hydra II second hand. I love Leema and want to stick with them if possible but the Hydra II is older so there aren’t many reviews, but it should be powerful enough. What are your thoughts ?

      I haven't I'm afraid Daniel - sorry - but the general personality will be the same. I think the non- Anniv offers around 150W or so. There's plenty of grunt there :)

      @@TheAudiophileMan thank you for getting back to me. I find the Leema stuff incredible, I’ve moved to different options in the past but thankfully never sold the Leema Pulse as I keep going back to it. There’s something magical about its pace and transparency.

      Sorry to bother you again, I’ve now got the similarly priced options of a Naim - Supernait 3, or adding a Naim 250DR to my Leema Acoustics Pulse, or paying a bit more to get the Leema Acoustics Tucan II Anniversary. If you had to live with one of these options for the next ten years, which would you go for ?

      @@danielstubbs9455did you get to hear any these amps? I'm considering tucana Anni and Supernait 3, also Sugden A21se and Avid accent. Cheers

    Paul hi I know this review is quite old but I have a question in your personal opinion does the Leema amp sound better than the Naim sn3. I know the proof is in the pudding I’m going to listen to both in the New Year but what’s your opinion. 🤔

      Hi Paul yes I did listen to both I wasn’t that keen on the naim The leema sounded a bit dry. There was a T+A Basic amp which I thought sounded better than both. However in the end I bought a LUXMAB 550 classy A With Focal KANTA. I stream music so perhaps not the best format but I’m looking forward to buying a record deck. Thanks for asking Paul

      @@clintonwalker5000 it wasn’t Paul, it was me sorry. What do you mean by the Leema was “dry” ? Was there anything about it that you liked ? The Luxman is only 40w per channel output, how does it handle the Kanta’s ? Why didn’t you like the Naim ?

    • @clintonwalker5000
      @clintonwalker5000 Před 2 lety

      @@danielstubbs9455 Daniel. The leema to me was very upfront and in your face like a monitor speaker powerful but not a lot of sound stage or depth The shop played them on Martin Logan speakers not my sort of speak at all I like to hear background depth in my speaker but the leema was very forward and upfront. The Naim sounded muddy and dull. Compared, we also demoed A+T And one of the basic apps that sounded crisp and sharp I liked it. However in the end I took home and demoed the Luxman, which in fact is only 20 W the kanta is 91 db , very efficient speaker 20 W from the Luxman class A seems more like 60 or 80 W , Powers the Kanta easily. The Luxman Has tone control treble and bass which makes a massive difference listening to music having that quality adjustment. All the best Clint
