- In this video I show you what was causing bar oil to leak from this Jonsered 2071 chainsaw. This will also apply to your Husqvarna 365 chainsaw and it is a quick and inexpensive repair.
Oil Tube is part# 503426701.
Grommet is part# 504300026
My Jonsered 2156C has been doing this for awhile, what a mess! Thanks for such great and detailed instructions, will definitely check this out.
Thanks Dony. Great to see you address this problem. Had this on a Husqvarna 50 R. Different configuration. Fixed it with a smear of Hylomar Blue.
Hi Dony. I have owned a Jonsered for many years. Thank you for the great tips.
Awesome! I have three leaky saws and now I have a weekend task. Thanks, always learn something cool on your channel.
Great video. I love all your chainsaw maintenance and repair videos. Thanks.

you're welcome ed
very helpful, thanks, Will
Nice very clear instructions.
thanks Joe
That works! Now if I could get it to idle I be all set it has the blue and red plastic little sleeves on the idle mixture screws.
THANK YOU!
one thing you should mention is that its important to clean around the oil pump before you remove the screws as removing the screws allows the crankase to be open to debree and mabey a light duty locktite or sealant to make sure the is no crankcase leaks. i think this aplies to the 365 to the 390 and mabey the 394-395 not sure about the 3120 and the jonsered series
thanks for this...
Hey! Love your videos, great job! Could you do a video on jonsered cs2147/52 oil leak?
Keep up the good work!:)
Like your new end song XD
I got 2 jonsered saws, 370 and 535 would LOVE to get you to tune and check em, I know where you're shop is located, its several hours from me, but worth the trek! I'll be in touch.
Great video. A lot of info given. Tx donyboy
good video
mine just needed a good cleaning, thanks for making great vids. Where can i get a full wrap handle for my 2071? i guess the part # 503 80 69-01 has been discontinued
Good practical video as always, Dony. My CS 2150 accumulates oil in the area beneath clutch cover/chain break plate area that just meshes into an oily mass with the cut wood shavings. Yes, the bar is lubricated as evidenced from the cardboard test and the oil is coming out from the port. But, after many attempts to control the oil flow with the bottom adjustment screw, the problem persists. What is the problem? Love this saw, but hesitant to use it because of the accumulation of gummy, clogging debris beneath the clutch cover. Thank you.
good video, thanks
thanks man
Smashing tutorial :-)
THANKS DUDE!
This is really helpful. I have the same problem with my Poulan Woodshark that's 10-12 years old. It has been leaking for a long time. I have been keeping paper towels under it. It might get used twice a year, so I never inverstigated it.
Poulan's seem to do that from new.
The Limb Reaper:)
The Limb Reaper
Yes they do!
I acquired a 2054 jred turbo. I'm having trouble cross referencing jred parts to husqvarna since jred went out of business. Do you know any source that provides a cross reference? Thanks for your vids. Very educational.
the stihl 017 chainsaw that I have pumps very little oil, off and on.I have replaced the hose and cleaned the filter and the passages look clean. The oiler looks good, but i guess its worn out?
I think so I wondered how to reset the break so I can get the cover back on? My customers on his way!
Dony I wonder if my Stihl 034 could be leaking bar oil for similar reasons?
Where can I get one of those sprocket type of screwdriver. Us on sears or populan to adj carb. Thanks John
Do you need specifically bar and chain oil, or will any old oil work?
I’ve got a jonserd 2050 turbo, mine seem to be leaking from the cap, cap is snug, I how ever see a small cut out or slot at the top of the brim the cap screws over, not sure if that supposed to be there or not, not sure if I can put a pic on here in case you have no clue what I’m writing about..lol
Where do you buy all your chainsaw parts?
donnyboy73 I have Mrs snowblower with 6th Tecumseh engine that is hard to start with the rewind I have to pull on it a lot to get it going if I use the electric starter it starts right up just want to know what the problem could be thanks
Using saw out in the cold then bringing it in where it's warm will cause a saw to push oil out due to expansion.
Would the 2054 have a similar grommet?
I remembered when the chainsaws bar oil is leaking it needs to replace the oil pump immediately.
what if you use new oil say you ran out of bar&chain oil?
the brake on my homelite chainsaw is on all the time. how do I functional?
Is it normal to have oil to get inside the clutch cover?
I cant seem to find these Grommets for a 2054 Turbo Jonsered, Any help would be appreciated.
hello i have a husk 445 it never oiled enough even when it was bran new out of the box, i did some searching online i found that there is a prob with this model not oiling enough i called husk costomer service they woulnt help me. my question is is there any way to modifie this saw to oil more? after about 15 min of sawing the blade heats up and i have to let it coll down. tuvm
Someone just gave me a jonsered 455 and the oiler doesn't work and I can't figure out how to get the gear out from the bottom ?
Where are you located, I could use an honest and knowledgable mechanic like you
Ontario canada
Hello Dony. Hey Dony, how many hours do you recommend on a lawn mower/ snowblower before changing to full Synthetic? I wasn't quite sure.
may vary from engine to engine but probably every 25 hours
Ok, sounds good. Hey Dony how about switching from regular motor oil to Full Synthetic on a new Engine?,..... How long before a typical 5- 11 hp engine is Technically Broken in?? Some say after so many hours and some say so many Miles.......... Thanx!
Hypotheses... So the heat gets the oil hot an it expands an contracts then splits in over time .. yes or or no ? or a bad drop on the ground . TU Doc.

hey dony,,what is your preference in bar/chain oil? is one better than the other? say bar oil in these brands Husqvarna,Jonsered,Stihl,Echo,Poulan?? thx
Awesome video. I have a 2035 jonserd chainsaw, the oil system is similar. I am wondering if you are familiar with this saw. II need to order some parts but cannot find any numbers or cross references to other saws. Can you help me out?
hi dony good vid mate, the tube which you put gommit on looked a big rough? was that a copper tube ?
yes a copper tube, it was nice and solid
nie one mate
My MS181 is leaking oil. Do you have a video showing removal and inspection of the oil tank an feed line? I assume I have to remove the flywheel to get at the oil tank.
+Roger Taylor I have a video but it needs to be edited and uploaded
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm a big fan of your videos as they are always clear and well researched. I look forward to viewing this one when it's ready.
i have a husky 455 that leaks alot of oil after running it so much that i have to put the saw in a plastic tray would the fix be the same as what you did on this saw??
+Alan Chase also its not oiling enough with the adjustment is up all the way do you think its the oil lines
+Alan Chase MAKE SURE THE BAR OIL HOLE IS CLEAN
Dony, I have a 1999 Husqvarna 141 chainsaw. Can't get the cover back on. I took the cover off to replace the chain, but forgot to take the brake off first! Now I can't get the cover back on. The brake won't go back over the clutch drum. Do you have a video or suggestions for this problem? Thanks.
maybe the brake has come back on?
pull back the brake handle
Dony, my Huskies don't leak bar oil. They are just marking their territory. :>)
hi dony echo cs-550 looks a good buy ? 5 years warranty think echo chainsaws have good name ?? its over 50cc as yopu suggested
I like their big saws
Hi Chris. Excellent choice, however i recommed you to take a look at cs 590 model. It's almost the same price, but a little more powerfull.
Arborist 101 thanks i will have a look thanks for advice
cant get cs590 here but can get the cs 610 but thats £100 more ? stick with cs590 me thinks
Then your your initial choice ( cs 550 ) is great. 610 is powerfull and durable, but if you don't do any professional tree cutting works, then, imho, there's no need to pay extra £100 for it.
Which chainsaw is more reliable the Jonsered or the Stihl?
they are about equal
+donyboy73 you think you could give me a push in one direction or another
+donyboy73 just a little push as if I were twisting your arm
