    Thanks for all the effort you put in to make this video. I now have a pretty good idea how good the Hyperboom is in terms of bass and overall sound relative to its size. Both speakers are now on sale online and I couldn’t find a place to hear in them in person so that I can decide which one to get. I am convinced the Hyperboom is my favourite. Thanks for the comparison video.

    @TheLifeGuards Před 4 lety +30

    Really impressed with the results, with that size, the fact that the Hyperboom can still match the loudness of the Partybox even be louder when compared outdoors/off-axis.. Imagine having 2x Hyperbooms paired up, it’s basically like two 360 degrees ultra-portable party cannons small enough to be carried and placed anywhere. If only they could make it IPX7 waterproof, that’d definitely make it one of the best all around portable party speakers on the market at the moment.

    The party box has bigger sound. It is really in the next class up more like a true party speaker for outdoors. When they are both turned up the party box dropped off and the hyper boom shines a little better at high-volume. You can’t beat the party box for the price, but the hyper boom is a more complete package and check some more boxes for what most people are looking for in the class that it is in.

    I have to say that this video does not do the hyperboom justice only because the type of music he's playing and it's settings and the equalizers that you have available to customize any kind of music you want to favor your hearing and your taste first off a hyperboom surpasses a JBL 100 in 20 different ways one you can customize your EQ to it lasts way longer up to 24 hours I had it up to 20 hours the other it is able to customize the sound around it with its Acoustics and hearing it also has Optical can I get directed to your TV or game console also the hyperboom has way more Bass has stronger tweeters if you set them it also recognizes what apps you are using to play music and adjust accordingly is lighter it is smaller and is more powerful and it's more efficient Plus it's easy to connect and it is also multidirectional so it covers the area better rather than Face Forward only I've made many comments on comparing a face forward speaker than one forwards two different directions it's not a good comparison in this video obviously Face Forward speakers sounds louder if he had both these speakers face forwarding on the hyperboom it would totally blow away the JBL 100 personally I think the only reason why the JBL sounds louder or more direct is because it is higher or taller if you bring up the hyperboom to your higher level of the ground it would sound the same or better as the JBL so they're many variables to consider before making a definitive decision the only way you will truly know if you have the speakers in front of you but I have to say there is so so much more to consider when it comes to your phone settings playing your music playing your apps using the music customization and all those variables make a world a difference so I wouldn't bash hyperboom at all for what it's able to do for you

    This Is truly long video And i really appreciate all the work you put into your channel. Thank you very much. I would like to ask you, what do you think about the Vifa Oslo in 2020? I really like that speaker and since the UE Hyperboom costs 400 euros And Vifa Oslo costs around 490 euros, it is a difference, but not all that great. How do you compare them? Is the new speaker from 2020 better than the a few years old Oslo?
    Also i would like to ask you one more question, if i may. What would you recommend to me as the best portable bluetooth speaker for indoor and outdoor listening? Something that Is loud, And just considering sound And battery life, nothing else. I just want something really great sounding for normal level listening indoor as well as for loud playing outdoor, that can stay on for at least few hours even at max volume. Please, can you give me your opinion?
    Sorry for bothering you, but i hope you can tell me your opinion or advice. And please, stay safe, have a nice day and keep up the great work, that you provider for us through your reviews, you are the best.

    That was a good battle but JBL has the deepest bass and tweeter do better jobs than those of hiperboom

  • @mattecrystal6403
    @mattecrystal6403 Před 2 dny

    I kind a feel like Hyperboom sounds better (at least through my headphones) Vocals sound better more silky and base sounds more impactful/dramatic. In person maybe it has less of the physical thump feeling compare to the JBL? But sound wise of how the bass sounds i think party box sounds better. JBL def sounds more open but not a fan of the way the treble sounds/vocals sound. Base may be good technically but i think sound signature of the other ranges makes the JBL bass feel less satisfying.
    For the Hyperboom due to it's design i heard you can actually significantly improve the sound by putting it in a corner of a room. So Hyperboom might have some advantage indoors if you take place it properly. JBL sound seems like it may get louder/travel further so may be better for that. But overall it sounds like Hyperboom is a using better quality speakers but JBL bigger size makes up for JBL speakers abit. But ultimately i think personal preference/familiarity with the sound of the JBL is making his opinion bias.
    I'm a firm believer that listening over a period of weeks or months is required to truly appreciate different speakers. If you listen to one speaker for an extended period of time and then swap to a new one you'll be missing lots of those little bit of the sound that you've come to notice and enjoy. However, if the speaker is good but just has a different sound signature then likely it has a ton of it's own areas in songs where it shines. But since your use to the other sound your missing those new great bits and focusing on what you currently perceive as different and worse even though really it tends to be more of a trade of situation.
    I for example had the air pods pros and the newer bose quiet comfort II. The air pods have a more treble focused sound and in a particular song i like there is a series of rapid hits that's very impactful treble bass sort of sound (mainly treble but still has the kick) But the bose quiet comfort II in comparison is a base beast. When compared to the air pods pros it feels like the air pods pros have actually no base at all. Anyways. in relation to this particular part of the song that i really liked on the air pods pro. It just didn't sound as good on the bose. the kick of each hit didn't stand out the way it did on the apple and it was easy to miss. It definitely made me really sad. But the ambiance the bose bass added to the rest of the song was certainly well worth it and overall i would say the sound sounded better on the bose. But my fav part of the song sounds better on air pods so I still find myself wanting to listen on them every now and then. (at least until the pros completely broke because Apple QA/planed obsolesce suck and all first gen air pods pros are destined to get a crackle)
    Anyway, I just recently bought the Hyperboom, as a b-day present to myself. Will arrive in a few days it was mainly between the Hyperboom and the Marshall Tufton. Honestly I feel like i might of like the Tufton more but I could only find like 2 short videos comparing them and the Tufton had worse battery, worse ip water resistance rating, and higher price and quieter sound and less bass. The quieter sound and less bass really not a big deal since it can still get plenty loud and i don't really consider myself a base head, but all my friends have less refined taste in sound and just want bass so figured I would go with the Hyperboom to appease there tastes since I'll mainly be using it with friends anyway.
    Anyway very long post aside, if you still have the Hyperboom it would be interesting to get your thoughts on it 4 years later. As well as comparison video to the Marshall Tufton.

    • @johnbuffey
      @johnbuffey Před 4 lety +1

      I tested both side-by-side. Neither are perfect but I found the Hyperboom better. The Marshall Tufton sound was too muddy - the bass was too fat and bled into the mids, the mids were far too recessed, and the treble too thin (you could really notice it on vocals). I found the hyperboom was a more neutral sound, with more separation of bass, mids, and highs, again in comparison to the Tufton. I agree with Oluv that it lacks musicality and sparkle - but its a less boxy and muddy sound than the Tufton. The hyperboom can also get very loud for its size, whilst retaining its sound signature. I found the Hyperboom app fairly useless - the equalizer just softens the music and the adaptive EQ doesn't really do much. I didn't want to get a bigger speaker like the Partybox 100 (although I gather its better and cheaper), and I find the hyperboom more flexible for positioning inside and outside the house.

    I find the worst part about the Hyperboom is the sound being boxy and not escaping the enclosure on top of that you have more upper bass in the tuning which further adds a boxy characteristic to the bass sound and I find the PartyBox 100 to be the exact opposite it has a very open soundstage and because it has more boosted lower bass you get better acoustic reasonance which helps separating the highs although yes I find the treble to be kind of grainy. Still overall if I have to choose regardless the price difference on both speakers I would always choose the PartyBox 100 for any generes I'm going to listen.
