- They are rich in Beta carotene (great for your eyes) and anthocyanin ( A great Anti-oxidant) respectively.
I want to scale the production of these two sweet potato varieties so that they become accessible to any household in Kenya. The Orange- fleshed Sweet potato is rich in Beta Carotene which is critical for your eyes, whereas the purple one is known for its rich anti-oxidant capabilities.

Great narrator, for an exciting subject. You have really encouraged me to start growing these exotic tubers.Blessings.
I am an Iranian scientist. Sweet potatoes are very much underutilized.
One of the first things to do with Sweet potato is to make them tetraploidy like potatoes.
Great job sister you are very smart and on the right track.
Do you know anything about GOJI BERYS IN YOUR PLACE.tks
Hello Sir, what does that mean? to make sweet potatoes tetraploidy. I am please very interested to know more about that. Thank you
@@gillesdjio8194 Google it
@@drpk6514 I did. Just thought you could guide my search a lil bit with some articles :).
@@gillesdjio8194 Diploids have two sets of chromosomes like wild potatoes. Tetraploids have 4 sets like commercial large potatoes. They are done by techniques such as colchicine treatment.
This is so great! I just came across this video when i was looking for info on growing them in my apartment in the Netherlands. But this is so inspiring to watch! Not just for growing plants and vegetables but also for doing so much more for your country, your surrounding, other woman, other farmers. Verry inspiring!
Normally I dont like the lot of talking but i must say i enjoyed listening to you because you seem to be very informed. Like you i decided that i would plant things that i did not have to spray because i have a real problem with butterflies, slugs snails and millipedes. Now i want to see a video of you harvesting those potatoes. I live in the caribbean and i cant find the purple variety anywhere
I am adding Purple fleshed next season 😻😻
I love the story, step by step efforts towards food security...KKEP UP
Congratulations classmate. I am encouraged. Farming with a great purpose- Healthy foods not just profits.
I am humbled!!

JUST found your absolutely important products!! Soooooo happy and proud of you sister Sara"murimi"!! Not ONLY are you growing those yuuummy, potatoes for business, but your generating businesses for fellow nationals and AFRICA needs nutritious foods!! Thank👏👏❣️ wish you VERY successful life hugs and Kisses 💯👍👍🌟🌟🙏🙏🥀
I noticed that what i was going to add has already been pointed out by at least two commentators. My friend from the DRC has a one hect plot i helped him lease, just outside Pretoria in South Africa. I was waiting to consume his sweet potatoes, as is the norm in Kenya. Lo and behold it came to me as a surprise that in the DRC they cook the leaves of the sweet potatoes as a foodstuff!!! With proper cooking instructions, we not only discovered a delicious and nutritious food.
Girl!! You're a great presenter, so knowledgeable and such great information. Thank you very much. I want your contact so that I can organise to get some of those vines. You've sold me already. Wow!!!! Amazing, smart woman.

This very good and encouraging work. How can i get tubers for planting? From Eldoret.
Orange fleshed is indeed like honey poured inside but never heard of purple one .🥰😍❤🌻🙏
Woow . thanks for this information. I'm in Zimbabwe also doing sweet potatoes. But we do not have the purple flesh variety. How I would like so much to try it.
Can you please make a video on the complete growing process of Sweet Potatoes
just search around youtube. it's incredibly easy to grow sweet potatoes. if you're in the u.s., you can buy sweet potato slips online in the spring.
Spread your visions to the whole of Africa especially in Zimbawe people there have so much land yet they are always asking for money from their overseas relatives they can work the farms and feed themselves and make money at the same time🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
That part is annoying. I always share links to show what they can do with their life but seems like they don't get it. Tired!
🤣🤣
😂 😂 😂 How very dare you spread malicious lies about 🇿🇼 people lol.... 🇿🇼 Have always worked the land and self sufficient you come across a little bitter why? Even Kenyans ask for money from diasporans. 😂
You have a good heart mamaa
❤
This is an old video, so I don't expect an answer, but I have to ask why you would buy sweet potato chits after your first harvest? If you started with certified chits, then the potatoes should be fine to take them from. Probably be able to produce enough to plant your acre with 20 potatoes or so. Not a critique, just curious as to your reason.
Are these grown in Ghana Africa, I'm moving to Ghana. Do you Ship to Ghana?
I am sure you will find them.
