Hello hello, I hope you enjoyed this episode! Does this film also fly under the radar like this in your country or this just my experience? I'm so happy that I could finally give it a try, but I think I'll have do shoot it at least once more in proper sun shine - maybe in a couple months when summer arrives?
Also big thank you to Zhiyun for sponsoring the video and supporting my work! You can check out their new portable lights below and get 10% off using the code "Teo10off"

Wishing you a lovely week!
I have a couple of rolls of this film, maybe it’s just uncommon in europe
This film is common here in Philippines. I just shot one recently and I loved it. It’s one of the cheapest films you can buy. Loved the vid Teo!
Why don't you store your film in the fridge? It will save it for much longer. It's widely recomended to store film in the fridge because low temperatures help to save the emulsion.
From Mexico here! Found it for the first time around 15 years ago, and I would always choose it over other options because of the fine grain… also used to buy the 5-roll pack for $125 MXP (around 8 or 9 USD) 😭 now it’s just incredibly expensive
I think you're an incredible photographer, but the cinematography is just unreal - please never stop making videos
Agree
Second that
My favourite film for sure! It was only a couple years back when you could buy a 5 pack for 25 euros. Those were the days …
there are many shots I like from this roll. but the scooter kids and the guy in the wheelchair enjoying the view are just beautiful!
Bruh, you are a good photographer, but the cinematography is leagues better. I enjoy watching every second
Pro Image is easily my favorite film stock. The colors, grain, and speed are perfect for the kind of work I like to create.
The stock was originally sold in developing markets as a "professional" stock. They only started selling it in the US a few years ago, with no fanfare to it's release. I have no clue if it even is officially sold in the EU.
ProImage is a consumer film that Kodak only sold in Asia. When introduced originally, it was considerably cheaper than other Kodak color films.
It does best with lots of light. I like it a lot and I'm happy that it popped up in the US through sellers like B&H.
They used to manufacture it in 120 until I think around 2011
Can confirm, Pro Image is much cheaper here in Indonesia than other kodak films and frok what I heard from some other people, it's more resistant to humid weather or something
I really like ProImage 100, knew it from when you started. Great film.
I used to get it on Amazon like 10 years ago for $9.99 for 5 rolls. The funny thing is? I still have some of it from back then, not refrigerated, and it shoots fine. According to Kodak data sheets it doesn't need refrigeration.
I love the cozy feeling of your videos!
Love watching your content. Photos are beautiful and inspiring. And your music, style, candidness, honesty and video work is so nice! Keep it up
The quality of this video is insaneee. I'm a recent subscriber and I'm glad I found your channel. Thanks for sharing your passion and knowledge :)
Amazing work my friend! love to watch every video of yours.
This video was great Teo! I absolutely love the shot of the forest with the tree stumps in the foreground! It’s so funny that we are on such a similar trajectory with our film photography journey as I also just tried out Pro Image 100 in my LA video from yesterday haha
Hi Teo, I just wanted to say, I think you’re amazing! It’s not that often, that people admire such things like Film photography! Keep it up!
really love your word man, its a good day when you post
Your videos are not for just learning they're actually a therapy for enthusiasts like us.
I loved this stock, i still have a few rolls.
it's supposedly sold more in hot and humid countries as it has higher resilience to those issues.
I found it a very easily scanned film too.
really enjoyed this episode!
beautiful as always😌
I love your art, you are an inspiration for all young photographers!!
Fantastic video as always
Thank you for the lovely video :)
Im a wedding photographer and I use Pro image at almost every outdoor wedding I shoot. It is truly the most under rated kodak film
I gotta say, absolutely fantastic content, but those images from on top of the gondola station... DAMN. Amazing work!
Before clicking the video I just knewww it was gonna be Pro Image! Love the colors, Perfect for bright days
Love the vids teo ❤
Those mountain shots were so good 🤌🏻, keep up the work mate!
The scooter photo was beautifully composed. Nice work!
Very cool to see a video talking about this film. In fact, Pro Image 100 was my first color film because I was able to get hold of a five-pack quite cheaply. I still love shooting this film today, especially because it's quite cheap in a pack of five and the quality is really good. I've shot some of my best photos on this film. The somewhat more neutral colors also allow a lot of flexibility in post-processing, which is very pleasant for me, especially with scans, which are always just an interpretation of the negatives.
Thanks. I am quite familiar with this film. I started using it, because I had heard or read somewhere that the film was supposed to be better resistant to higher temperatures. Therefore, it is always with me when I am back in Central or South America. The 100 ISO is compensated for the the often brighter light. F8 is possible in street photography, giving me enough depth of field. It is a neutral (flat?) film, but that can be an advantage in harsh light. If still too bleak, a slight move of the saturation slider in post will work wonders. No problem, and I hate post work.
Not gonna lie. That's a really cool light and an appropriate sponsor. Love the vids as always i'm glad you keep making these.
I think Kodak Color Plus would be the next in line if you want to pick Kodak's underrated films. That's why it could be an interesting choice if you want to have a different look
You live in a nice place dude. Cool calming video.
Really great shots! I've ordered some of this film in Australia!
I definitely haven't heard a lot about this film but recently my lab here in California has been carrying it!! I think I have 2 rolls of Pro Image but I still haven't shot it, but this video made me want to shoot it right away! Definitely an underrated film and great colors. Your shots always make me super inspired to go out and shoot! Keep up the amazing work
Wow I’ve never been so early for a Teo vid!
The reason why we don't see pro image much here in Europe is that it is specifically designed to be more resilient to hot and humid conditions like what you might find in tropical regions. It could make it good as something to keep as an emergency spare roll of film in the bottom of your bag, where it can sit there unused for years and you don't have to worry about refrigerating it.
I think it's mostly just sold in Asia, and when I buy respooled cine film from Reflx Lab in China, if you peel off their labels you can see they're reusing pro image canisters.
Thank you for an interesting video. I visited Igls about 40 years ago and, from what I saw in the video, not much has changed. Enjoy your time there. It's a lovely country.
Cool video 🤩! This is the film stock I shot the most since a while ago, I like the balanced tones and controlled grain, and last but not least: it's affordable, definitely very underrated!
Just sat down with a hot cup of tea. I'm only 51 seconds in and the shot of you looking into the canister and then pulling out the film is so damn good. I already know this video is gonna be epic. 🔥
the picture of the people outside of the skilift with the dog is absolutely stunning
Never heard of this film. But for my 4x5 there's not a lot to choose from anyway. I love my Kodak Ektar though. What a great alternative for tough lighting. Great to see other Austrian film photographers around. Keep those nice videos coming.
Yup try it waiting ⏳📷
I’ve begun to prefer pro image 100 over Gold 200. It’s just so nice for outdoor, portraits, and anywhere you can’t get enough light for nice light tones with gold.
I agree! This was one of the first film stock I tried, because of the price and a Gold shortage in my country. I used it on a field trip with my school, and it gave me beautiful colors of the mountains and glaciers I photographed!
Got myself a roll of this from my lab in London and will plan on taking it to Marseille where the light will be great, hopefully for it.
Even here in the US ProImage doesn’t get a lot of attention, though it’s not hard to find. One of its benefits, especially here in the American South, is that it isn’t affected by heat. Makes for a perfect road trip film for me!
im really new to film photography. This was my third or fourth roll I ever shot. blessed enough to try it on a nice sunny beach, and the photos were really something. picked up some more to store in the fridge for another sunny day.
The best colour negative of its price!
Pro image is one of my favorite films!!!
The picture of the bench is probably my favorite i also like mountain
one cool thing about pro image is that it's supposed to withstand heat really well so good for summer trips when it might get left in the car
the level of cinematography in this video is insane
I love this film. I bought two 5 packs when it resurged again before the prices became Ridiculous. I bought some when it originally came out in 2010 I think itwas and still have some from that time period.
We have a lot of ProImage 100 Toronto there is a load of them in local camera stores. There used to be a mass shortage of it a few years ago.
They haven’t moved much so if anyone in that city is looking for some. They’re at Downtown Camera.
Hi Teo! Big fan of your videos. Anyway, I'm always wondering what lens do you usually use in your photograph? I also have the Pentax K1000 with 50mm f2 but I always wanted a bit wider lens
Beautiful work! On the technical side, highlights seem to be a bit green, would you consider correcting it slightly? I mean, one could argue that's part of the look, but the green highlights shift the color a bit too much, I think
Lovely video, as always. 4:13 A telephone booth! Pretty much forgotten in the U.S. and likely to disappear in Austria soon too. 14:12 If fine art photography doesn't work out, you can always get hired as an insurance investigator.
Teo! After watching your videos I started to pick up film photography in the little spare time I have. I had a question for you, In this video you pulled out your film from just a cardboard box. Do you ever keep film in the fridge? I've heard from people that I need to keep them in the fridge. Wondering your take on it!
The color grading of the video is quite warm. Does the actual photo from Kodak Pro Image 100 also this warm? Perhaps similar to Kodak Gold 200?
Kids down the hill, My neck off the woods and Double Grind are my favourite pictures of this roll.
I think two more things apart from the availability in many countries are #1 most people strive to for the portra look and #2 the slow speed may be off-putting for some people because they like more flexibility and therefore like something like ISO 400 film stocks.
And now i can proudly say that teo crawford got me into film photography 🫡💯
I have enjoyed proimage in the past when it was more affordable. Considering the price of film these days I will probably stick with Ultramax or Kodak 200 film for general purpose color shooting.
love so much your videos, ohh this vibe, respect from ukraine❤😊
Hi! What camera do you use to shoot hands-free? Is it the GoPro? Do people ever look at you weird for having a camera on your chest?
13:09 13:39 I think these two are my favorite shots of this roll 🎉
Teo, do you use apps for lightmeter during these photos?
Can you make another updated lumix gx80 set up with the 20MM f/1.7 lense? I would love to see how much changed after 4 years! You inspired me to pursue photography
It’s still the same though?👀☺️
I want this in 120!!
Does anybody know of it is discontinued? Ot doesn't appear anywhere at the Kodak website, but I've seen a few canisters in Mexico
I really love your work. Once your photos are scanned. What do you do with them?
Thank you!🫶🏼🥹
Make videos about them🤔😅😂😂😂
@@teocrawford that’s fantastic. I was wondering if you had a photo album or if you sell them or something like that. Also, if you don’t me asking, are you Austrian born & bred?
Pro Image 100 hella underrated.
What printer do you use to print your photos
there are plenty of pro image 100s here in Thailand.
Awesome video and the photos are great,it's all worth it with your unprepared shoes going up to the snowy mountain 😂
What lens do you use on your k1000?
Do you develop your films by yourself or by a big lab or a „supermarket“ lab?
Not sure how accurate this is but I believe ProImage was designed to be an international product and is supposed to be less sensitive to heat and humidity, which is why it's not too common here in Austria 😊
YESSSSS
I bought 5 rolls of it or $42 USD, finishing my first roll on my Nikon F3. I'm curious on how my photos are going to look like
i actually bought 5 rolls of pro image yesterday ahaha
What wide lens do you use on your film camera? 28mm 2.8??
35mm 2.8 most of the time!☺️
I always use pro image instead of portra for portrait, it is too great
I've always been underwhelmed by the results I've gotten from Pro Image. You are taking some really nice shots (I absolutely love the wheelchair one) and the overall aesthetic of the film mostly works out in your favor, however I must play devils advocate here and say that you'd probably be just as well served with any other standard color film.
Do you have a cheaper alternative? I'd be willing to test!
@@longuito Cheaper? Gold, Superia etc. The usual suspects.
Personally I prefer Ektar to Pro Image, but it is more expensive.
Hi Teo, whats your opinion on this - that if we scan and tinker with the digital versions of our film photographs in Lightroom, then it defeats the purpose of film photography, specially that of shooting with a particular film, since we are altering the look of it ourselves. So we should rely on a scanner to interpret it correctly and directly print it?
A scanner is effectively just a digital camera.
Modifying your film shots with Lightroom in no way defeats the point. In fact doing so may be needed to actually reproduce what was captured.
Every movie shot on film you've seen in the last 30 years used the same like 5 film stocks and defined a lot of their look in color grading, largely in a digital workflow at this point.
Also keep in mind your film is a negative image on orange celluloid. Some amount of interpretation and conversion is needed to make it look like anything normal to the human eye. Post workflow puts you in better control of defining that vs it being defined by a computer algorithm with no sense of aesthetics.
If you want the most "true" to analog you could shoot black and white, do your own print enlargements, dodge and burn and dial the look in there that you want, then scan the prints and correct them in Lightroom to look as close to the way the prints look to your eye as possible...but they'll still look different on different screens.
@@benbunch4159 I know all that. Every film has its own look because it captures the light in a certain way, which upon processing gives the distinct typical look of that film. In earlier days, as per what I have read, photo enlargers were used to turn film negatives into colour positive printout. The only 2 places where we were dependent on the interpretation of colour was 1. the film stock 2. the printout paper. There was no manipulation in between. Now there are several layers of manipulation involved 1. film stock 2. scanner or digital camera's scanning the film negative 3. Lightroom 4. Screen which you are using for colour correction (eg. Adobe RGB) 5. Printer's interpretation of that colour.
What is that shutter sound from?
Apparently, the film used to be only sold in Asia and South America, it's only the last year's it has been available in Europe
FWIW I've been buying it on and off in North America for quite a while. From B&H and Amazon.
Hello guys, i got a Lumix gx80 and i want a Lens. a lens that have wide angle and a decent zoom. Is there a lens?
I used to shoot with the Panasonic 14-140 lens - the aperture is pretty high unfortunately but the zoom is insaaane
Thank you. Is the lans AF? sorry i dont know much about lenses
I've shot this film before, it's good but you definitely get alot of green hues
Pretty common in the UK?
Tmax P3200 is Kodak's most under rate film. In actually it is the only true 800 base speed b&w film in the world. And I do wish it was available in 120. There is Delta 3200 but it in reality it is only an 640 base speed film.
Tried it last year, I think it's the cheapest color film you can get. Didn't like it that much, with daylight theres too much green for my liking, with a flash in a dark environment everything turns super orange. I would prefer to add a buck or two and get gold or colorplus.
When i bought it 2 yrs ago it was about 6 dollars, but now is so expensive i would rather have gold 200 because it looks better and has more latitude
❤❤❤
Good 📣🧸
Are you LEMMINO?
Cheapest color film here. Seen it for 50-60 euro
the most overrated film: *Portra*
Share your playlist already Teo. The bgm is always so relaxing in your videos.
Aww glad you like it! It’s all from Epidemic Sound - I’ll have to make a playlist there to share at some point but I haven’t gotten around to it yet😬😅🙏🏼
