Well, I never heard of Sparklehorse before today, when my boyfriend George suggested that I check out Mark and his music. So I watched this and Jordan's video. I do like his music and now I want to learn and hear more of Sparklehorse. Seems I missed out on a lot.
mark was probably born way too sensitive and vulnerable for this world. i guess he was destined to live a short life. i'm pleased he left this fruitful, loving legacy. thanks for this well done look at one of our modern artistic masters.
Thanks for uploading. It was my pleasure to see Sparklehorse 3 times. Once supporting Mazzy Star in Manchester and headline act in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Great memories.
Damn Sparklehorse with Mazzy star is a hell of a line up. Got to see both acts a few times myself. Both have been in my top ten favs since discovering in 90s.
@@davidcowan4942 Very nice. Sparklehorse only came to Australia once in Jan 99 as part of a music festival where they played in a small side tent. Got to see them at was one of Sydney's best pubs for gigs as a sideshow too which probably only could fit a couple hundred people. Then a couple months later with Mercury Rev and The Flaming Lips in Austin Tx. Love the song Hope did with JAMC.
@@Jefe_Perro Brilliant. Saw Flaming Lips support Mercury Rev at Potterow in Edinburgh. About 6 months before Soft Bulletin came out. Thankfully the Rev took them to Europe to convince the Lips to give it one more try as they deserved every success they both got.
That version of "Saturday" is extremely sad and beautiful. My god, how we miss you Mark.
this is really beautiful, Mark was such an interesting guy, such a shame he is gone, but he left some of the most beautiful music...
I wish he had been able to find peace some other way. At least he found it though. His legacy is beautiful. Rest in peace to his wife as well.
@@papi_dummy is his wife dead too?
@@superneko99 Yes, she passed in 2016 I believe, from an asthma attack.

My son loves this music, and through him I have come to love it aswell. So beautiful.
RIP Mark. You had a rare gift. Not just anyone can describe pain with so much majesty. Gone too soon.

They say never meet your heroes, and I will never meet this guy but he seems like a really good guy.
Très grand artiste, sans artifice, une musique qui me touche au plus profond de moi

@@Jefe_Perro Yes it was quite a small venue too. I remember that Jim Reid of JAMC was DJ between bands that night too.
