Curiarracht dhomhanda - go bhfios dúinn
Liricí:
Tá an ticéad a'am don bhealach fada
Dhá bhuidéal uisce don turas
Is ba bhreá liom cara a bheith in éindí liom
Mé ag fágáil amárach, mbeidh tú liom?
Nuair 'tá mé imithe
Nuair 'tá mé imithe
Aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann
Aireoidh tú uait mé 's mo aoibh
Aireoidh tú uait mé 'chuile
thaobh
Ó, aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann
Tá an ticéad 'am don bhealach fada
Tá an saol mór ag fanacht liom
Measc na sléibhte, taobh na habhann
Ait a bhíonn an t-aer breá úr
Beidh sé i bhfad níos deiseleat a stóir
Nuair 'tá mé imithe
Nuair 'tá mé imithe
Aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann
Aireoidh tú uait mé 's me ag caint
Aireoidh tú uait mé 's mé ag seinnt
Ó, aireoidh tú uait mé 's gan mé ann - Hudba
Gaelic is one of the most beautiful languages in existence, and these are my favorite versions of these songs.
agat
Tá mé ag críoch a scéal . Bhí sé lig tharat focal amhain
Oh the comment I was talking about seems to be gone :/
Its gaeilge Gaelic is what the Scottish learn/know
its also Gaelic culture
I'm a Chinese,I can't recognize the word of Irish or Gaeilge, but I can feel the emotion of this song, and the charm of the language.
+Wong Christian Beautifully said!

I'm Catalan. I was born and raised in Catalonia, one of the Catalan Countries. I speak better or worse Catalan, Spanish, English, German, Occitan, French and Italian and I understand a dozen of other languages, and I ASSURE you that I have never heard something as beautiful as the Irish Language.
Happy Narwhal go raibh míle Maith agat😊
Happy Narwhal I'm Irish
Happy Narwhal awww thanks
Go raibh maith agat!!☺☺
Happy Narwhal go raibh maith agat!!
It's 2023, and I'm back to listening to this again. Still love it!
Ditto in June 2024!!! I have to watch it at least once a year!! LOVE the coordinated kids (not messing up at ALL during the song!) and their JOY at the end of it!!
Makes ya proud to be Irish when you see the talent we have on this island . Well done lads amazing .💚💚💚
❤️❤️
Yes 💚💚
That was shit
Then speak Irish 😅
Labhair Gaeilge ansin
Yea it really does
For me, this is pure love and beauty. I love seeing the kids performing perfectly. When I want a break from things, I come to this video.
I love when people from other countries listen to this, and love it.
Most people hate learning Irish but they should take more pride in it,Because you can do things like this and this is beautiful. :)
Irish is hard but you"ll get it soon good luck:)
I'm learning Irish too, it can be challenging at times, but I just believe I can and keep going.
It’s so beautiful to hear singing (great singing) in other languages. This one is incredible, never ever let it disappear Ireland 🇮🇪.
This is an excellent exhibition for anyone who takes the study of the English language seriously. Here are the roots of modern Irish and English.
My beautiful daughter Niamh Mcilwaine really loves this song. Hopefully she can find this comment when she is older.💚💚
Congrats to TG Lurgan for promoting the Irish language and along the way developing some fine and fun musicians!
This is one of the songs that make me start learning gaelic and i'm from the Dutch speaking part of Belgium. But it's hard. I won't give up en keep learning this beautifull languege
Just saying, the language is called Irish or Gaeilge not Gaelic. Gaelic is the name given to the family of languages it belongs to.
All these years i never knew there was an irish language until i stumbled on this video
I'm proud to irish. thank you GAA, Gaeilge league and Abbey theatre for helping this split country to hold its tradition

Seven and a half years later, and a random CZcams suggestion brought me here, and I'm very happy!
Its important to keep your language alive :) Good job, greetings from Germany
Slainte , love beautiful Germany too
this is somehow really heartwarming . . .
breaking my tongue trying to sing along with the lyrics. great song, beautiful language! :)
AngieMac1690 me too! :)
when your irish its much much easyer😊😊
bogey1ball
makes sense :'D
um learning it at school 😵🔫
+bogey1ball so true, learning Irish from junior infants makes it easier for us to say it!!
Only 4.2 million views? Should have easily got a 4.2 billion... Any day! What an atmosphere of sheer joy, beauty, togetherness and celebration! The best of CZcams!!
lol that's more than half the entire world's population
I don't understand a single word of it, but I must have replied this at least ten times in the last hour! Such a beautiful language!
There is something totally amazing about the unity and the peace of these beautiful people.
I remember growing up and it was said Gaelic was a dead language, forgotten and swallowed by time. It was for at one time but here is a group of young people speaking with the tongue of their ancestors refusing to let it die. It was absolutely beautiful! In Nova Scotia in Canada Gaelic is also seeing a resurgence. Some street signs and place names are put in English and Gaelic and the government is investing money into programs promoting the language. I hope it continues!
Andrew Fairweather same ♡ my Uncle and Grandparents spoke it. Nobody else does or did to my knowledge ♡
music ambassadorship helps, enya, clannad, even the chieftans, in america they all had levels of success and showed us how cool it sounds, so there is some interest..
We have the only Gaeltect outside of Ireland about 20 mins North of where I live . Erinsville, Ontario.
We call it Irish in Ireland. Gaelic refers to a culture, not a language.
I won't let it die😁
lads I'm going there this summer can't wait!!! Irish is my favourite subject in school
ill see you their ;)
cathrine same! I actually had fun doing the Irish tests! I haven't done it in two years cause I moved but I'm back home!!!😆😆 I'm going there this winter or next Summer
Catherine I go to an Irish school
I'm going to a different gaeltacht, and I absolutely hate irish class :(
I'd probably get kicked out on my first day for accidentally speaking in English too many times xD
Best version of the "cup song" (when I'm gone) I have heard so far :D
Perfect tempo too. I always thought the original was too fast paced.
The pride of the irish is unparallel
Congrats to TG Lurgan for promoting the Irish ☘️ Language, and along the way they’ve gotten some very fine and resourceful musicians!
It's so nice to have the cup song in my own language 🤗
Same here although it's a pain in the arse to learn it in school 😂😴💯
I’m Irish and seeing all these people love Irish is nice
I dont understand why, but I listen to this video at least once a week, and always makes me cry. It gives me the feeling like I have come home, a peace within my agonizing soul. I dont understand the words (though I know the english version), and i am not any more Irish than any other mixed bloood American, but I feel truely connected when I hear this. Thank you for giving me one of the very few things that I cherish in this world.
It is the way that we speak in Irish that makes you feel right at home
Lontach! Go raibh maith agat!! :)
Same reaction. I don't know why either.
Love seeing so many young people singing in Gaelige
so proud to be Irish what a beautiful language and beautiful young women and men ☘️
Doing Irish homework while listing to this
Same!!
Omg sameeeee
Saaaame😆
Relatable
Great to see this! I can't believe the comments about the pronunciation. No wonder the language is dying. My family were native speakers from the Gaeltacht and I speak very bad Gaeilge with a Lancashire accent. But I'll sing and speak it as much as possible and love to hear others doing the same. Keep up the good work. Maith shibh!
Maria Boyle Níl an teanga marbh, ach tuigim cad tá tú ag rá. Fad a bhí mé i mo leanbh bhí cainte agus meon réasún an linbh agum. Okay, ceart. Ghoid mé é! (Is é an Bíobla iontach.) Ach, nuair a bhí mé mo leanbh (nó páiste) bhi cónaí orm i Lancaster. Ach, déanaim iarracht Gaeilge a labhairt gach lá. Níl an teanga marbh ar chor ar bith.
Having said all of which, you are right, elitists who complain about accent really put people off learning. My son is the second generation of his family to be born abroad - it's not nice for him to speak better Irish than I do, and then have people complain that his accent is off. The worst thing is that half the people complaining don't even speak Irish as well as he does. As for me, I know I'm making grammatical mistakes, and I cannot spell, and I've got an English accent. (In fact a Lancaster accent, so you are not alone in the Lancastrian Gaeilge. Or Lancashiran. Is that even a word? It should be. And... see? Even in English language is not always our best friend.) But at least I use Irish to communicate, for all my imperfections. That is what language is for.
So yes, it's great to see videos like this, and to know that Irish language teaching has improved massively. (Check out the other Irish covers of popular songs - Pompeii is one of my favourites.)
Oh - and also, great to hear that your family came from the Gaeltacht, and that you are still proud of, and using the language. Tá áthas orm a chloisteáil é! Is é sin iontatach!
Maria Boyle not being mean but its sibh 😀👍
True
Ba fear liom Gaeilge briste ná Bearla cloiste . Tá tú ceart .
Mar a deir siad i Tesco's
Cuidíonn gach rud .
( everything helps )
This is awesome... Irish people have such a will to preserve their beautiful language...
Ireland, i love Irish language. You sing amazing, i replay over again. Good job, and keep doing a great job!! Respect and love from Poland 😊
Thanks, Kocham Polska!!, I went to Lublin last year! And I almost can speak it fluent
This is the very first time I've heard this song in any other language. Irish seems very appropriate for it, very nice job.
you've brought more than a tear to a homesick Northerner I can tell you...and I'm spreading this far and wide here in New Zealand!! Thank youse so much :-D
Absolutely stunning and beautiful, amazing people the Irish! loved all over the world💕
This girl singing should get famous. Lovely voice.
How lovely and calming. It would be wonderful if more children could experience this harmony in their lives
I love this version, whenever I'm in a bad mood, then I watch this video and everything is good
Really brings tears of joy to your eyes...Irish Eyes, that is!
I love this song soo much! I speak Irish but I would never be able to sing like that😊
Absolutely an amazing harmonic song from Ireland very nicely done...
Just finished watching pitch perfect yet again and I remembered this gem. I’m so proud to be Irish especially when I hear beauty like this 💜
oh god. This is beautiful. Everybody knows, that gaelic (irish and scottish too) is one of the most beautiful languages in the world, but this cover of "Cup song" is awesome!
The young lady has a beautiful voice. Really enjoyed the performance, great use of the cups for the percussion.
Simply Beautiful. I wish I spoke Irish, but performances like this transcend language.
This song is such amazing. Greetings from Poland! :)
Omg! I'm Irish and I love Poland so much!! Its my second favorite country! I love the language and people! Last year i went to Lublin! For almost 3 weeks, I'm almost fluent now :) , Kocham Polska!, I can count to 30 and no all the basics!, jak sie masz? Dobrze a ty? Nie, tak etc
Shane Nolan Rellis yes that's Polish I an Portuguese and know many languages and that definitely Polish🙄😏
Amazing## Much respect from the Pacific Island.
That's it. Now, I need to learn Irish. The language of my people!
I'm actually surprised they haven't done the national anthem. But very proud to be Irish 🇮🇪🇮🇪
As a french speaker, i also think it's very beautiful !!! I wish I could learn this language...
I'd say go for it.. you will pick it up easy after a few lessons.. as a Irish man I'd encourage you to tbh.. take care
@@kdaly210been learning it for most of my life I wouldn't say you'd pick it up after a few but definitely within a decent amount
@@idkanymorewhatdoIput AHH yeah I now what you mean.. I guess I'm talking from a Irish persons point of view not a non Irish person lol
@@kdaly210 i dont get what you mean by non irish im irish myself thats why ive been learning it most of my life
@@idkanymorewhatdoIput I meant for us Irish we will pick it up quick then non Irish. Since we have heard it being spoken most of our lives from either family or school.
Is that girls voice not the true voice of an Irish angel?? Ireland you make us so proud!!
Omd!!!
Is breá liom é!!
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Go raibh maith agat!!
(South Florida, USA)
And any dislikes are from jealous haters... they WISH they could sing an Gaeilge!!!
The lead singer is soo beautiful! Agus tá mo cupán briste!
We learn these songs in school so you're really helping the young people enjoy the amazing Irish language. Really wish I could do that thing with the cups, ah well!
Joshua Reynolds there's an excellent (and short) tutorial video on CZcams - if you search "cup song or "When I'm Gone" you should be able to find it. By the way, it's not nearly as hard as it looks!
This song is so great, i love the voice, the sound, the performance - all of them!!! This is one of my absolute faforite!!!!
This is going viral now, half a year later, especially on those obnoxious third party sites who never bother to find & credit the original. One site had a complaint from an American that "we don't have schools like this anymore" ;-)
So I'm glad I kept digging and I'm grateful for your work. I would like to know more about the event, school, etc. Thanks.
Wow, what shivering performance. Great delivery and most importantly, the discipline and unity each "teenagers" must've had to pull something that is all around fluid-codependent performance. Outstanding!
Wonderful! I love seeing/hearing young people making music in their heritage language!
Her voice is so good!
This was great. I'm studying to be a linguist and have always loved to hear Irish sung. I hope all these songs they are doing are getting people excited to preserve such a wonderful traditional language and culture.
Thanks
Yet another reason why the Mexican people love and cherish the Irish ☘️
Beautiful way to promote our beautiful language, congrats to all involved :)
I spent 3 weeks in Colaiste Lurgan in 1985 and it's funny how it hasn't changed at all!
They made us learn this back in 3rd class. I never really understood the importance of learning irish, I just found it burdening. Now, 3 years later, I really understand. Its a majestic language, and that of my people. We wouldn't be irish without gaeilge.
It's wonderful! When my girls were younger, they would play the cups game with other kids while waiting for their turns at swim meets. It's great to hear it in Gaelic and to see all those kids having a great time!
me school is fully irish I have to sing song like this and we won last year for when I am gone in irish
Lontach!!! Congrats!!
STUNNING BEAUTIFUL YOUNG PEOPLE..🍀🍀🍀🥰 Great Song Too..!!
I'm not Irish by nationality, but I'm Irish by race and every time I hear Gaelige sung it brings a tear to my eye. This song is truly beautiful, we need to keep our mother tongue alive. Gods bless you all.
They are really TALENTED
I'm from ireland and I wouldn't have it any other way I love my country my language!
Is breá liom Éire is breá liom é anseo chomh maith agus is breá liom an amhrán cupáin freisin mar sin cuireann sé seo áthas orm ☺️
I love that I can understand what you said. Tá Éirinn go híontach.
Roomate was playing this, I'm in my room & I thought "cool Chinese rhythm". Oh dear, my dad spinnin in his grave-it's a cool Irish song!
beautiful young people, and song loved it all..............
I had this song in my head all day lol
Just plain beautiful
+Labhcás Ó Daimhín Tá fáilte romhat.
+Jasmine Villagomez / A Undertale fan why do you keep saying you're welcome?
Go raibh agat
Her voice is lovely.
Wonderful job by ALL!!!!! Never get tired of watching it!!
I was going through CZcams looking for something to watch. I saw the original song, wasn't all that interested in watching it again. Then I see this song a couple videos down. I watched this once, then went and watched the one in English and came back to this one and wrote this. Hell of a coincidence
This song has made me decide to learn how to speak Gaeilge
Iontach! Go raibh maith agat!
Scott thanks!, good luck but Irish is classified as a dead language!!! It's going to be hard to find a site that still teaches it!
Irish is NOT a dead language. There are still native speakers and the language has more speakers now than it has had in a very long time.
Dont listen to the people who say it's dead. It's not. You can learn it on Duolingo
its not dead its just hard lontach good luck :)
Such a soothing voice.
Go raibh maith agaibh! I had to look that up. Hope it is right. I have posted this song in English many times, but you folks rocked them all! good job, and thanks for the post
Just awesome!
I so love this video. I saw it a long time ago and could not find it on the net cause I did not know what to look for ... anyway, so happy to have found it tonight. It makes me feel good and we all can use feeling good.
Cinnte, tá sé thar cionn!
Wow this is amazing!
Why are you not singing Gaelic in the British music charts....and internationally in fact!
What about Eurovision?
I'm English and think Irish is such a beautiful language! I am very happy to see young people singing it. Irish is cool and you should promote it!
For me Irish is by far the most beautiful language when it comes to singing (and in general). But the singing is what got me literally obsessed with wanting to learn it. And it all started here...
how does this not have MORE views? this is amazing
well that was AWESOME.. you kids looked great and that made me happy here in the states.. Great Job!!
love it
What a beautiful, ingenious way to help keep the language alive!
Aww that’s so kind of you to say that! Oh and I’m Irish I am texting on my mom’s phone and I’m only 8 and my dad got cancer and died
We are doing the cup song with this song in an assembly on my last day of school. This is a good song because our teachers are going to miss us (Some not that much cause we are a crazy class) when we move to third grade into upper elementary! So this song is great! and our teacher told us we might know the song before we have to learn it! I love this video!
Amazing! What you are doing is amazing!
Still watching in 2020 and love it.
There used to be a sign on the door as you entered that hall that said "Tir gan teanga, Tir gan anam" (a country without language has no soul) Funny how that stuck with me over almost 30 odd years later. I had so much fun at Lurgan and music was always a big part of your time there. Sean Ban Breathnach used to DJ the discos, he lived close by as did the founder Pol O'Foighill whose son was the head of the school.
This is amazing.
I know all the song off by heart I learned it at home ;) the love gailge
ahhh this makes me miss ireland so much!! :'( beautiful video :)
på svenska Länge sedan jag hörde gaelic, då på pub på västkusten och Aran. Men det här... helt underbart och vilken koreografi
