But I do know that they speak their own language because they all understand each other, Queen Margrethe does speak Swedish fluently because her mother was Swedish

There is a warmth and natural tactile affection shown in this royal family that you just don't see with the Brits. Margrethe was physically and publicly affectionate and playful with her kids and still managed to be taken seriously as monarch. Elizabeth was a fine person/queen noted for her stoic dedication to her "duty" but part of her "duty" was to parent the next monarch to be an emotionally healthy human being. I respect her but sadly think she failed as a parent.

@@stvhb1509 Yes because they are all descendants of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, or King Christian IX of Denmark , or both. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Margrethe are closer because Queen Margrethe's mother was the sister of King Carl Gustaf's father.
