"Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one." Chills..
fr
That sentence is from the Buddha himself
many people may not know
"Throughout heaven and earth, I am alone am the honored one" Actually from Gautama buddha
Interestingly, the animation production team seems to have overlooked this detail. Gojoâs pose is wrong.
In the manga, when Gojo said this, he pointed to the sky and the ground at the same time
This is also a reference to Gautama buddha
â@@user-bq4cs3dn2kexactly the anime director change is the reason why they blue balled me this ep. Geto and toji figjt was better than gojo vs toji fight in the anime đą. These mfs really don't know where to put their budget into.
People saying the fight in the manga was better r delusional. The fight was the exact same. It's just that the angle for Gojo's pose when he said the heaven line was better in the manga.
In the manga, the author has personally explained
gojo's standard of good and evil in this period was set by geto for him
geto pulls gojo back when he is about to tune into dark
But in the end geto went to the dark

To quote Gojo, can only save people who are ready to be saved
To put into context how high on his own power Gojo actually is here: "Throughout heaven and earth I alone am the honoured one" is a quote that was (allegedly) first said by the Buddha ĆÄkyamuni. Gojo is basically calling himself enlightened and that he thus stands above everyone else.
I think that interpretation is a bit wrong.
What Gojo said means that "I am not more precious than others.â
â@@ejogiaish2649 watch latest theFakeWeeb analysis on this episode, he tackles what Gojo meant with that line
â@@ejogiaish2649 Gege himself said Gojo didn't said the quote to compare himself to Buddha, theFakeWeeb explained it well
I donât believe Gojo was high at all. Itâs just him finally seeing cursed energy from all angles finally and not just that, I think itâs also how his infinity enhanced where he could feel quite literally everything. Like when Gojo uses his domain it overloads everyone with everything to exist. At least thatâs how I interpret it
@@MrJerrytheSlimehe was literally high on Life
Yuuichi Nakamuraâs line delivery this episode was chefs kiss. His portrayal of Gojoâs manic euphoria was perfection. Mappa really put a huge chunk of budget into this ep. Sibuya Arc gonna be so wild and crazy.
I always thought when he said the heaven line, he was saying loudly but in the anime, he's just saying in a normal tone. Is that how it was always supposed to be?
â@@anonisnoone6125i think that is how it's supposed to be, because gojo thinks he's higher than everyone (literally)
@@anonisnoone6125 it was always supposed to be a "peaceful" moment, idk where this perception of gojo saying that line aggressively came from. he was being enlightened, like he said everything felt right and he was at complete peace. he was not angry at all, he was feeling amazing in that moment.
@@ugh5281 He doesn't have to be angry when he says it. I just thought he said it more loudly.

Not to mention that he walked into a room full of people applauding her death. Iâd lose faith in humanity too.
and it was just a start đ
Oh man, while I was watching this episode, I prepared a list of things to comment đ
Here they are:
1. Geto couldn't absorb tojis curse because there is a master-servant relationship between them, he would have to kill toji in order to absorb the curse (geto explains this in jjk0 while applying it to Yuta and Rika, im pretty sure gege confirmed this in an extra)
2. Gojo received Toji's "blessing" aka megumi while Geto received Toji's curse
3. Jjk's author (akutami gege) said that gojo was using geto as his moral compass in that scene, had geto said yes, gojo would've have done it. It shows how being the strongest and having absolute power can corrupt someone and that gojo did indeed have that dark side to him.
While this is where gojo walks away from the darkness, this is the place where the darkness begins to sprout within geto. I like to believe that the ground represented the sprouting of the darkness within geto at 19:54
5. Satoru says "you're late suguru" in this episode and in jjk0 Suguru says "you're late satoru"
Feel free to correct me if I said anything false!

I lost it when he called the birds Eren đ
I like Geto too, he is a relatable character. He just got tired of saving ungrateful people who dispose of jujustsu sorcerers on a whim.
the people who generate curse energy in the first place. so they're basically protecting the source of all problems which makes it an endless cycle of sacrifices
@@valeriyav2149 it's the technical part of the problem with some of the sorcerer dying on missions like Nanami's friend. But truly the underlying problem is how he feels protecting the ugliness of the weak. Those they protect has an ugly side making them unworthy to be saved.
The cherry on top was that information from Yuki that curse user and sorcerer doesn't give birth to curses.
@@valeriyav2149 Because Geto so tired of swallowing curses and protecting ungrateful people in exchange for the lives of jujutsu sorcerers, he was having a dilemma if he would still continue this path he has chosen(because for him it was turning into madness). Yuki presented 2 options but Geto think of the third which was genocide. Yuki didn't say it was wrong she just said that she wasn't crazy enough to do it. This was one of the catalysts why Geto embraced the dark side, he found a reason to kill people inorder to save the sorcerers. Because as in this episode said the reason is very important especially to jujutsu sorcerers.
@@kintokisa well yeah. the first reason is rational (if you can call it that) yet extreme. the ugliness of the weak is a much more emotional reason since... it's very generalized. I'm sure Geto met nice non-sorcerers on missions before, even his parents or those people that help sorcerers with barriers, Riko, Kuroi, etc. but Toji and the cultists cracked his ideals and purpose and then his mental state got worse and worse, and then the village happened, so it makes sense only ugliness stuck in his mind with this trauma after trauma (also, Geto is idealist so he thinks in extremes).
but it's not a coincidence he kept telling himself he hates all monkeys over and over. "I've been constantly convincing myself, ever since that day". Gege said that Geto had to "always remind himself that he hated 'monkeys'" meaning deep down he knew this way of thinking is flawed too but thought there was no turning back and that "rational" reason to get rid of the source of curse energy probably helped with it a lot. after all, Geto's main problem was his black-and-white ideals. he needed to set higher purposes to keep moving and cope with using his quite repulsive curse technique.
@@valeriyav2149 bakemono! And I'm guessing you haven't shown your true power yet? Hahaha
bro screaming Eren when he saw the bird fuckin killed me đ€Ł
Itâs crazy when you realize Geto was Gojoâs moral compass and could have literally changed the entire course of the series if he had simply changed his response to killing the cult members. The sad thing is that, he reassured Gojo not to, meanwhile his own faith/âallianceâ was wavering and his worldview started to shift. This was when their ideals started to completely reverse.
I know most people expected this fight would be brutal and intense, but the fact that they chose this tone instead of the usual brutal and intense is actually genius imo.
It conveys different message, instead of making Gojo and Toji fighting on an equal field by making the battle have intense tone, they choose peaceful tone, signifying that they're not even close at that point.
The leading theory is that gojo was so close to death his brain released DMT and he is literally high in the scene with toji. Not only that but he literally was ascended to a higher plane of existence.
16:06 that "EREN!" made me spit out everything I ate today lamo
Gojoâs voice actor did a great job honestly
When i look into Gojoâs eyes, itâs like Iâm looking at the sky. Those damn eyes of his are too beautiful
Interestingly Gojo to me has the vibe of both Achilles and Icarus. When he claimed himself as a god, that actually worried me a lot. I'm not a manga reader though, but I keep thinking about what if Gojo end up losing his eyes just like Achilles' heel or Icarus' wings.
I also like how they made Gojo stepped out of the room while Geto still stuck in there facing the 'fake' light (just like facing his ideology). Geto saved Gojo from losing his mind while he couldn't save himself.
Also, you can see Gojo eyes started glowing just like in ep 20 ss1, no longer just plain blue like in previous eps. That's very well done easter egg to show his change.
Well if you remember what is supposed to happen in Shibuya... that should give you an idea of where the next arc is going and why this arc was put before it.
Your actually a genius (manga reader)
Toji remembered Megumi because Megumi is blessing in Japanese, also Toji said before that he can't remember guys names, that's why Megumi has a woman's name, so that he could remember his son name. Also in the last moments Toji remembers his wife embracing baby Megumi, Toji was living a normal life when he met her and had him, but when his wife died came back to his usual ways, really sad story for Toji
As a manga reader this episode was absolutely phenomenal. yes the panels were different and the angles and whatever but how they did this episode was incredible. different yes but still as good
I don't think it was as shaking as the manga but it was good. Also the viewers had an impression that gojo would be madly screaming the words of enlightenment. Personally i don't think the episode stands up to gege's manga
@@AdityaSingh-fy5vv sometimes u can't top the manga, and that's why gege is the goat, but holy shit they still did an amazing job with this episode, I've seen anime only's calling this the best episode of anime
@@hamzarasheed1998 ah well you know twitter is twitter but even the discord server admins of the official server said the anime entirely ruined the scene. Without bias yes the episode pales in comparison to the manga chapter.
I said pales bcuz it was nowhere near as good
They did a spectacular job. Why do we want all exactly the same panels? They caught exactly the same feel and drama in the imagery they did use. And the imagery, piano music and time stop to illustrate Gojo's 'enlightenment'. Chef's kiss moment. Slowed down time is something that cannot be done in a manga. Not to mention their use of golden colour palette at that moment, whereas manga is black and white. This is why anime is so great as a DIFFERENT art form if you use it correctly. it's not better, it's not worse, just different.
Yuuichi Nakamuraâs line delivery this episode was chefs kiss No notes. His portrayal of Gojoâs manic euphoria was perfection. Best Episode so far, Shibuya is about to go down.

i just wanna say how nice it is when someone actually understands what theyre watching! He pays attention to the songs, the animation, the symbolism, and the story in general!! As a future animator i really love it when people understand what i want my story to tell. i just think it's nice :))
Throughout Season 1 up to this point, we see that Gojo has always been confident, borderline egotistical. His "awakening" cemented that. So the last segment shows Geto acting as Gojo's moral compass. If Geto gave Gojo the "okay" to kill them, Gojo would've done it. His literally being the strongest shows how when you're given absolute power it can corrupt someone, given the situation. The symbolism shows Gojo walking away due to the moral compass of Geto, showing that Gojo has a darker side to him. Yet, Geto faces those people clapping to the death of Amanai. Even though Geto stopped Satoru, he himself is lost there in the moment. When you look at the ground you begin to see the growing darkness within.
blue is actually negative cursed energy and red is positive so geto went from red room to blue and gojo went from blue to red carrying amanai is so much sense.
bro you're reactions are the best I don't care you're faking them or not . In any case you're acting so fucking well

Geto was the morale compass for Gojo at 19:50. This is definitely one of the catalyst where the 'Changes' started.

i literally just finished watching the episode and this man uploads a video reacting to it. Legend.
I can only handle so much adhd. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I don't know what I'd even do with myself if I had that much energy with that short of an attention span đ
Just to clarify⊠manga readers who assumed *that fight* scene was suppose to ONLY have a feral-crazy Gojo, heavily misinterpreted it and did not properly understand. The quote Gojo uses: âThroughout heaven and earth I alone am the honored one.â This quote is the one that Buddha used when he was born.
This serves two purposes: it firstly highlights how Gojo has reached enlightenment/awakening in his six eyes & limitless ability, and the traits attributed to enlightenment have little to do with being absolutely bonkers shit crazy intense.
And then two, it also highlights how Gojoâs birth also just completely changed his world. It sort of mirrors Buddhaâs because Gojoâs birth quite literally changed the power structure of his verse (later episodes in this season will reference examples as to how so I wonât spoil).
What I think went wrong is that Akutami Gegeâs rougher art style may have made it seem crazier than it is and the animeâs smoother performance kind of softens it, but it technically was suppose to be the way the anime portrayed it. Short, euphoric, and godlike. đ
That Gojo line reminded me of the Aizen line from episode 62 of bleach: "Since the beginning, no one has ever stood in the heavens. Neither you, nor me, not even God himself. But that unbearable vacancy in the throne of Heaven shall be filled. From this day forth, I will stand in heaven."
Man I waited all day for you to watch it

16:06 EREEEN?!!! Thats killed me frâ ïž
About the imaginary of color where Geto was in the light and Gojo in the dark, it gains a lot more sense if you think that cursed energy is blue (negative energy) and reverse curse technique (positive energy) is red. This part is the beginning of the end. After Riko's death Geto starts to doubt about his convictions, so while in the room that represents light, but has the color of cursed energy, he's standing in a cicular void of darkness that gets bigger and bigger while the religious people keep clapping the death of an innocent teenage girl.

âThroughout heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one.â is a frase of a sacred Buddhist text, these words were said by Buddha, who proclaimed himself to be without any equal.
as manga reader, i always wanna say the hand claps in op3 is very brutal
"Throughout Heaven and Earth, I Alone Am The Honored One" which was said by Buddha after achiving enlightenment (some believed he said it after being born). The quote has some variations like "On Heaven and Earth, I Alone Am The Honored One", or just "I Alone Am The Honored One".
I love how Nakamura Yuuichi, the voice actor of Gojo was praised in this video. He nailed it!
"I'm lost for words" while talking non-stopđ
This Episode was the Definition of PEAK!! đ„đ„
most graceful, beautiful, mesmerizing mental breakdown i have ever witnessed. brought tears to my eyes
Karamatsu dyed his hair white and decided that heâd be the best character in Jujutsu kaisen
On the topic of this encounter in the manga vs. the anime, I can see why people wanted brutal and scary, but I think the way they handled it here, this weird mix of serene, violent, unsettling, and slightly sad, was a really cool interpretation. I think both versions do a great job with the scene and provide a different perspective or context for it.
gege (the author) said gojo was using getou as his moral compass in that ending scene. so if getou said yes, then maybe things wouldve turned out differently. BUT WHAT MAKES ME GO BONKERS IS THAT EVEN THO GETOU SAID NO, HE HAD HIS DOWNFALL. also what makes me angry is that the people are clapping cuz they are happy that riko is dead, so they are like "omg yay shes dead!!" I JUST LOVE THE WAY MAPPA PORTRAYED EMOTIONS (ESPECIALLY GOJO AND GETOUS) THROUGHOUT THIS ARC. i love jjk I'm sorry the autism is popping off today

That's the time when he became the strongest, and it's much more crazy in the manga I bet you'll love it even more, the way he just fly like crazy, saying his quote with his feet up, damn.
The music , the scenery, the animation, so good so impactfull , the dialogue, VA , deep and dedicated .
Gojo not being angry, it's no one's fault he tried his best , being both in sorrow he didn't save Amanai and in pure Bliss because he needed this near death experience to step up to godlihood and is grateful of his new found life . Absolute best.
Ama No Sakahoko(Inverted Spear of Heaven) is really like a Mihawk's knife + Asta's Anti-Magic blades. That shit forces every kind of cursed technique to shut down.

Also it's ironic how Gojo took toji's blessing(megumi means blessing) and Geto took in Toji's curse(the curse spirit wrapped around toji) where megumi symbolizes Toji's love and pride as a jujutsu sorcerer and his only connection to jujutsu society whereas the curse representing his hate towards the same Jujutsu society that rejected him and called him a 'monkeyâ. We can see how Gojo's and Geto's ideologies interchange in the future where gojo came to love the people , jujutsu via his students and how Geto started hating Non-sorcerers and hated the word and so called 'monkey:
In manga "I am the honoured one" sounds like a declaration to the world . In the anime , its like a self affirmation. Moreover I prefer the jagged style of manga over the smooth style of anime.
