  • The Rode Streamer X is a superb device which offers great sound with an XLR microphone, as well as HDMI inputs and throughputs, dual PC streaming setup options and more. It boasts a Revolution pre-amp for great sound and works with Rode Unify (rode.com/en/apps/unify) though I prefer the other option of using SteelSeries Sonar instead. So watch as I show you the best setup options for the Rode Streamer X to make the most out of it, get great sound and open up virtual audio sources you can separate in OBS when streaming and recording.

Second comment. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was about to get rid of the Streamer X, but the combo with Sonar meets ALMOST all of my needs. You're the GOAT.

I've been thinking about picking on of these up even though I have goxlr and rodecaster 2.

its pretty amazing their entire x line up works better with third party software and not their own software. i have the xcm-50 and it works bad with unify. so i used the gg sonar and it works wonders. wanted to buy the streamer x buy got backed down by the software. now i know i can buy it and use it with gg also.

I had my setup perfectly with voicemeeter banana and an audio interface. I got a Streamer X and its been a huge headache. Unify needs to have EQ functionality for their outputs... Why the hell do I i need to use additional software to EQ my audio... Come on Rode. Get it together.

got something from this and enjoyed the presentation. so I’m interested too in the inbuilt capture card, I want to use two camera for a couple of angles. Doe the inbuilt capture card enable the camera to exceed its normal 30ming recording time? Thanks for making this video btw. 👍

The camera isn't recording it's just passing its live feed to the Streamer X.

Im really struggling on the best route for wireless headset and zero latency XLR mic sidetone in my ear but with physical controls/sliders for separate channels like game, chat, discord.
What in your opinion is the best combination setup?

@@TheProvokedPrawn so I don't need a mic booster using the Rode X right? all good if not. I have the SM7B, rode X and XLR cable on the way.
