Bicol Escapade || Cagsawa Ruins

The Cagsawa Ruins are the remnants of a 16th-century Franciscan church, the Cagsawa church. It was originally built in 1587 but was burned down and destroyed by Dutch pirates in 1636. It was then rebuilt in 1724 by Fr. Francisco Blanco, but was destroyed again on February 1, 1814, during the eruption of the Mayon Volcano.
It is located just outside the city of Daraga in Albay Province. It is one of the popular tourist attractions in Bicol set against the magnificent backdrop pf Mt. Mayon.
HOW TO GET TO CAGSAWA RUINS?
FROM MANILA
1. Book a plane to Legazpi or ride a bus bound to Legazpi.
2. Ride a jeepney to Camalig/Guinobatan/Polangui. Tell the manong driver you are heading to Cagsawa Ruins.
3. From there, take a 5 minute or 300 meter walk to Cagsaw Ruins. Or ride a tricycle.
