  • This algebra 2 math video tutorial provides an introduction into function notation. It discusses evaluating functions with a single variable x and using 2 variables x and y. It explains how to find the missing x or y variable using techniques such as factoring trinomials, GCF, and by grouping in addition to using the quadratic formula. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems.

    I’ve noticed something when solving a Quadratic Formula by factorisation question.
    If the co-efficient of A is 1, then the two numbers multiplied to make the product will have to change into its inverse
    Example
    x^2 - 4x + 4
    Because the co-efficient is one, I could find the product of 4 but it needs to total to -4. This will be -2 and -2
    All I have to do is the inverse of -2 which would be 2. The answer is x = 2
    Does this apply for every quadratic formula problem with the co-efficient of A being 1??

    • @uhuhuhuwhauwhauwhaaha7918
      @uhuhuhuwhauwhauwhaaha7918 Před 5 lety +3

      nope, you can test the function by replacing X with 4 and Y with the result, and if you set Y= -2 the function will turn out = 48 + 32 +20 which is 100, and the problem confirms that f(x, y) is equal to 100.

      The "26 - 10" is just an option but the answer is "(-26) 10" if you multiply those two you will get 260 and for (-26) 10 if you add them up you'll have the sum ( -16y)
