  • a song I really like from old yeller (1957)...it makes me think back to the good old days of movies, and even though the quality is much better now and the computer graphics is stunning its still the story that needs to have heart behind it...bring back the good old days!

My favorite part is when Yeller saved Arliss from the protective mother bear. Also, in the book, he's suppose to be a Black Mouth Cur, while in the film, he's a Mastador, that means he's a mix between the purebred Labrador Retriever and the English Mastiff. Spike is my most favorite animal actor, he gets different roles in films and television shows, Spike played as King: The She-Creature (1956), Old Yeller: Old Yeller (1957), Patrasche: A Dog of Flanders (1959), Brown: The Westerner (1960) with Brian Keith and Pete: The Silent Call (1961). After his role in "Old Yeller", he appeared on one episode from the 1950's television show, "The Mickey Mouse Club". I love the best doggone dog, FYI, I'm a HUGE fan of Spike.

Joshua Reppert My favorite part was later that night after the bear incident when Travis was laying in bed thinking...probably replaying in his mind what happened that afternoon. Yeller gently opens the door, pokes his head in and smiles at Travis as if to ask “Are we cool now? Can we be friends?” Travis then motions to him to jump into the bed, where they bond. To me that was the “Old Yeller” moment. I also liked all the farm work/herding scenes....the cow and the hogs. It showed the training skills of Frank Weatherwax as well as displaying the abilities of working farm dogs and what they were bred to do.

I haven't seen any good Disney classics since the 90's and I don't even care flipping to that channel anymore I wished there was a Disney classic channel and a Disney Animation Classic channel like Toon Disney in the past but with both Televised Animation and silents from 1928 to the early 2000's I can't even stand the new Disney anymore and I wished that they would also show the classic animated movies like Cinderella, Pinocchio, Dumbo, Bambi which is probably one of those Disney movies that some might find dumb in today's times but I'm sure it's possibly one of the most underrated Disney movies of all time to others like Alice In Wonderland, and of course the other channel would have live movies like Old Yeller and many others.
I don't get why Disney treat there fans like Cartoon Network did in the past when it came to Boomerang but anyways once again I also wished Cartoon Network could extend on Boomerang to make it even better not worse in reality.
In my own opion I just we had more channels that would show respect to the classics such as TV Land and there was also another similar Network that we have that seems to have even more variity then TV Land does which is nice but if I were to make a classic channel network I would want really good transfers of the movie or film so that you have the best sound and picture quality but at the same time the picture is not saturated at all or scratched nor do you hear hissing sounds at all so that the viewer is satisfied with what there watching not the other way around of being upset of what there experiencing when wanting to watch there beloved classics on TV or I also wished that Netflix or Hulu Plus could show more of these on there services.
Still though I see myself being proud of owning a physical copy of the movie or TV show just saying wouldn't you have to agree with that?
Anyways anybody who is reading this from Hollywood I hope you can make a classic channel on these movies and TV Shows?
    Thank You!

    And when he hunted trouble
    He always found it double
And that's when Old Yeller had fun
    Here, Yeller
    Come back Yeller
Best doggone dog in the west
Best doggone dog in the west
    Old Yeller was a fighter
    A rootin', tootin' fighter
In any scrap he knew just what to do (just what to do)
    A rough and ready feller
    Although his coat was yeller
His bold Texas heart was true blue (true blue)
    Here, Yeller
    Come back Yeller
Best doggone dog in the west
    Here, Yeller
    Come back Yeller
Best doggone dog in the west
Best doggone dog in the west
    Young Yeller is a puppy
    A little old lop-eared puppy
It’s plain to see he’s got a family tree
    The image of his pappy
    He’s frisky and he’s happy
And that's how a good pup should be (Frisky and happy)
    Here Yeller
    Come back, Yeller
Best doggone dog in the west (In the west)
    Here Yeller
    Come back, Yeller

The song got stuck in my head, and I went looking for it on CZcams to get it out of my head! I first saw this movie in 1990, when I was 8 years old, and back then, I absolutely hated it. I was not a dog person back then (being chased down the street by a neighbors' two big dogs when you're six years old will do that to you; and no, we were not doing anything to those dogs, my sister and I were on our way home from the bus stop, and just passed the house where the dogs lived). Then there's the fact that the dog dies (I don't think I was old enough, or mature enough to understand the movie). Though years later, I have grown to really enjoy this movie. However, I've enjoyed the song long before the movie grew on me, due to the fact it was included on a Disney Sing Along Songs VHS tape we had (anyone remember those?)

Just rewatched this the orher day havent seen it since i was probably 4 and it felt like looking back through my younger eyes, idk something about that scene when travis leg was covered in blood and then puts the blood red bandana over it is something that stood out to me as a kid but also something i forgot, kind of a nostalgia thing almost a synesthesia feeling

drummer703 Chord progression is not melody, nor the harmonies, nor the note lengths.
I'll grant that having the same chord progression can make two different tunes sounds similar; however, it most certainly does not make them the same.
