I mean, atm he's still not that much of a threat. All on screen instances of quotes that reference power, or danger, are weighted heavily due to PA being there in place of ainz. I am glad it's not gonna be quite the steamroll we are used to, but PDL still pretty much doesn't stand a chance.

He wasn't, Ainz was a roleplayer and somewhat of a support player.
A lot of his teammates were even stronger than him 1v1 since they were pvp builds.
And they weren't even top1.
I'd say Ainz was only at top 100 players or something.
Not really a threat,
If 2 guardians moved, PDL would die like an ant and everyone knows that.
Any threat in the series is just a false sense of danger due to how cautious Ainz is. If he gave every single guardian a world item, they could probably destroy the world in 1 month.
Even if he just let Gargantuan let lose outside for a year, then every strong being would be dead by then.
Overlord will never have any character that will endanger nazarik, after all, it is an Isekai with an OP MC.
Things to note:
1. Ainz's base gear pretty much buffs his fire resist into immunity, covering one of his weaknesses. This is detailed in Shalltear's fight since the gear he switches to was for Holy resistance.
2. Pandora's actor was expressly forbidden from using ANY of the passive buffing skills his classes granted to the undead summons, meaning they were a lot weaker than what Ainz himself could do. Testing PDL and giving false info at the same time.
Awesome, good to know this, is sad to see the anime skipping so much content... :(
Also to note the equipment Pandora's actor was limited so it was lower tier. Also while transformed Pandora's actor is only 80% as powerful/strong as the person he is transforming into.
@@crislouise2509 he doesnt get the actual item nor does he copy the effects visual only he does have possession and able to use all the items he holds in the treasury to there best and absolute perfect timing so in a way he could use them at there most powerful time but likely he wont use them and he cant copy them so he can copy lord touch me in his armor but the armor is a visual gag
he can copy spells and passives certain ones he cant and he can only use 80% of a persons power but he is very deadly
Definitely my favorite detail from this fight, shame they didn't delve further into it. Ainz may be stupid when it comes to governing, but he's a genius PKer. Just like in his fight with Shalltear the name of the game is fooling your enemy into showing their hand, while convincing them that they've seen yours as well. And he accomplishes that with flying colors here.
One of the things I like about Ainz is that he is so cautious. He has every reason to be completely confident in his success (access to vast resources, god-like equipment, nigh unstoppable subordinates, as well as super genius intellects like Albedo and Demiurge). But his belief that the world contains a being more powerful than anyone in Nazarick means he creates all manner of entertaining plans and schemes.
Not only that, the "fake" obstacles create r opportunities for him and his minions to evolve in different ways. With most of his top tier being high level creatures, they do not need power evolution, but mine development, strategy thinking and etc

Back in season 1, if Ainz didn't ask the twin to hide the tomb of nazarik, it would be discovered way sooner than season 3, by the group who was searching for it and end up striking on Shaltear with mind control. And there were a lot more powerful than the adventurers who came later.
I don't think he is a 'super genius', he actually can't follow the majority of the talks when Demiurge and Albedo talk, but he is good at faking it. I'm not saying he is dumb, but he isn't as smart as those two, and the reason why he even manages to keep up with everything is that he studies. He is always reading books to understand things and work on things he isn't good at. But, the thing he is definitely very good at is strategizing his movements, how to deal with enemies, traps and etc, most because of his great experience with this when it was a game and his incredible knowledge of spells. I mean he wasn't the leader of Nazarick when it had players for nothing.
It is true that he is outright paranoid on a tactical level and takes immense care to constantly check over his shoulder while bullying the local peasantry. On a strategic level however, I think his behavior is better described with the immortal words:" LEEROY JEEEENKINS"
but the fact that pandora's actor tanked those attacks from pdl makes him dang impressive. this is also probably the only time i got to see pandora's actor in battle and also casting high tier spells. ainz's creation sure is also a hell of a monster

Even more impressive is that Pandora’s Actor was only wearing BACKUP gear, which is in no way even close to the power that momonga usually has with the real set
While I want to see PA going all out, Ainz would send one of the floor guardian first before him. But if PA was ordered to kill PDL, Imagine him being like his creator(ainz) switxhing to different players and throwing randok bs to enemies lkl
@@mejiajadonalberti.4208what I also like about PA is his intellect on par with Demiurge and Albedo which means he could choose the place, time, and conditions of their fight maximizing his strengths, minimizing his weaknesses, and switch out from different Supreme beings (like Ainz and Touch me) to different NPCs (like Rubedo) at maximum efficiency. He might be 20% less stronger, but in my opinion his potential alone puts him on top.

And the true irony of this fight is the fact that the Ainz that was fighting PD was actually Pandora's Actor. Meaning the dragon was fighting an Ainz that was only at 80% of his full power, which also means that PD just got a misreading of how strong Ainz actually is.
Imagine what's going to happen if Ainz actually decides to face PD now that he's armed with knowledge of the dragon's weaknesses and PD completely underestimating the undead king's full strength...

(Haven't read the light novel so idk if he actually was watching through magic, and in the case he didn't i'll refer back to how Pandora thinks and acts similarly to Ainz.)
Don't forget Ainz even forbid pandora's actor to use certain spells and pandora's actor used low tier equipment and didn't use world items when he fought PDL

S1 was good because they faithfully adapted everything- and then it had a twist ending that was a failsafe in case there never was a s2, but BUTCHERED the continuity. Itsuki's best scene, the corner debate, got comepletely cut from the show, which means theres no setup for Zeltoble and half as much setup for Bandit King, which are the two best arcs that S3 would have been built up to cover... BAAGH. Such potential, wasted. Spirit tortoise was supposed to be setup for kizuna's world, resolve the ongoing skirmishes with Glass and La'arc, name drop Qutenlo, establish the ongoing threat of the Cardinal Beasts, build up Rishia as a character, showcase the nature of the hard, soft and narrative based power systems at play to give a better idea of why Rishia has the potential to become the strongest person alive as setup for her moment in Zeltoble... but ffs they just couldn't be bothered to make 2 good adaptations in a row.
One the hardest thing for the cautious strong one is most likely holding themlselves enough that they don't accidentally kill their targets when they just want to gather intel
Yes, even the lowliest of enemies can be a pain in the behind when you're trying so hard not to kill them.
Feels like a battle to not have the enemy accidentally impale itself on your sword when it attacks.
It isn't tho, just use a paralysis spell or grapple.
Bro, I understand that pain. Like I’d be leading a boss with 1% health through a maze so that I triggers a trap and dies and then respawns back in. Cuz like the boss cant respawn after a few hours after a player kills them. So I was just basically farming it’s drops. And then I accidentally hit it and it dies and I have to wait 3 hours for it to spawn back in again like ahh the pain.
Hope this video will help anime onlies understand how epic this fight was in Light novel, just reading this part alone will be a lot of fun.

Its a bit disappointing that season 4 is only 13 episodes, 24 episodes should suffice to the amount of information the LN has for the anime to adapt, but madhouse has to make do with what they are going to have to do for the adaptation.

I mean, in the video at 7:13 you see Pandora's Actor in Ainz's robe, so... he did, he just didn't expressly state that Pandora's Actor was the one fighting PDL in his stead.
I'd imagine the other floor guardians would've handled platinum dragon lord easily but Ainz wanted to learn as much as he could from this opponent. He gave strict instructions to Albedo and went about to get as much information as he could.
Albedo was able to shatter the barrier due to the world level item she had on her.
Theres no need for other floor guardians PA can easily demolish PDL if he's left on his own without Momonga telling what to do

Quite understandable the fight against "Ainz" and Platinum Dragon Lord had to be cut short because the series was at its' final stretch but despite that, the fight itself was still very detailed. MadHouse did what they could with 13 episodes well enough to get the finale and final end to the Re-Estize Kingdom on episode 13.
I would’ve been more than ok with 100 episodes. I’ve been rewatching all seasons and OVAs back to back since s4 came out lol

omg. there was so much more to this battle than even I could think of. i wish the anime animated every part of this fight because it seems like a HUGE point in the story.
Its as epic as shalltear vs ainz. But time constraints (budget also) forced the animators to cut a lot of details.

The fact that Pandora's actor was putting this much pressure on PDL is crazy, and they went easy just to gauge the strength of his opponent. This whole fight was simply just to see how powerful his opponent was, while the mastermind of the opponent is now underestimating the strength of Ainz because his puppet was sent. I suspect that the real dragon lord might actually be a real player from the real world capable of using world items, it's gonna be amazing to see when they decide to face off against one another

@@desparagon4595 Is it a spoiler, I've only watched the anime and it seems pretty obvious to me he's not a Yggdrasil player who got transported to this world, and instead just knew about Yggdrasil and players from it. The reason for this is 2 fold, first off when he was introduced and in many of the instances we see him, he doesn't act like a player from another world, he doesn't talk like a player does, anything in regards to Yggdrasil or players he only refers to indirectly, like when he asked his friend (the old adventurer woman) to look into items from Yggdrasil. If he was a player than he likely wouldn't ask a native of the world to look into items from a game he came from (unless he just didn't know about a lot of items, which is possible, but I wouldn't stake anything on it given he's a high level).
Next he doesn't know the name Ainz Ooal Gown, there isn't a single Yggdrasil player who wouldn't know that name (again unless they were very new and that's unlikely given the level of the dragon). This for me instantly meant he couldn't be a player and must just be a native that knows about Yggdrasil instead. Also while it's not expressly stated what limitations there are on character creation, I don't think being a full on dragon is a player race option. It's possible for NPCs made by players, at least to a certain degree, so maybe it could be a player race option. But given none of Ainz's old guildmates looked to be dragons, maybe one of them could've been a demi-dragon of sorts, but eh. And then there's when Ainz was thinking to himself after learning that dragons are in this new world (back in season 1), he remarked in his head that "Dragons were some of the strongest creatures in Yggdrasil.." Not seeming to refer that there are players or players could be dragons, but this is mere speculation on my part. I think the previous points are more compelling as to why I thought the Platinum Dragon Lord was a native anyway. Didn't think that needed confirmation, the only thing I want to figure out is how much does he really know about Yggdrasil, and what players might he have met in the past.

Ainz being overly cautious throughout his entire time in the new world seemed kinda pointless considering how pathetically weak the new worlders are but it really comes in clutch when dealing with people like the slane theocracy and PDL.

Ainz(Pandora's actor) vs PDL is one of the greatest fantasy fights of all time. The anime did a good job but in the novel it is so freaking good well written and gripping along with the reveal that ainz isnt even fighting him it truly is so well written. I was reading it at arou d 3am and I couldnt stop reading till finishing the novel.
I'm not a fan of PvP in games I play, but it's a lot of fun in both the LNs and the anime getting to see what makes such a player tick. It's demonstrated logically and the thought process Ainz uses is well-presented. It's going to be really interesting when the "real" PDL and Ainz fight, Ainz may be surprised a bit but he's dealt with enough Yggdrasil dragons that he should have a real edge over the dragon. Not to mention the extra 20 levels he has beyond Pandora's Actor about which PDL has no clue. Heh.
80% is not a reference to their levels, but the potency of their abilities. His stats, save for HP, MP and Special Abilities, are adjusted to match the original forms base stats. Base since that doesn't account for equipment they have that could enhance their stats. I might be wrong but, the way I see it, if he was to mimic Warrior Takemikazuchi for example, his base physical attacks and defence would be equal to the supreme being. But if he was to use the Bright King Combo or any of its constituent moves, it would only be 80% as powerful.
I used to enjoy PvP solo or group back in the day prior to cash shops and micro transactions. Dark Age of Camelot Asherons Call even World of Warcraft back in 04/05. It was about grinding with online buds and just having fun. If you wanted to min/max you had to put in the time and get the help from others in some cases. No wallet warriors. A 9to5er if they had a good group/guild could easily be on par if not stay current. You didn't ahve to worry about certain banner events and how much to spend. Items or gear weren't made useless every month.

The character analysis is just stitching together old content he made awhile ago and reposting it for people who never saw it and to bundle the info into one video rather than spread out. So that really isn't taking much time. He has real life things to do outside of this channel, so I'm sure he is doing as much as he can to keep up with cut content. Cut content is most successful after all when it is up to date with what is currently airing, which is why he chose to skip ep 10 for now and come back to it later.

Ainz biggest challenge so far has been his duel with shalltear nothing has come close to the danger he faced fighting her.
Yes biggest without his full equipment including staff of Ainz Oool Gown. All because he still afraid that his enemy would have a countermeasures if they see him fight in full strength.
I wonder if Pandora's inherited the same sort of PvP expertise Ainz has, I know in Ainz's case it comes from experience and maybe he programed such knowledge within his creation, it seems Ainz approved the choices he made here but this was really more an issue of subterfuge than straight duel, I guess his performance in this combat while maintaining like two or three successful layers of deceit could not be achieved if he was not something of a PvP expert himself too.
He didn't inherit it per-say, but Ainz did fill him up when he programmed-created him with his vast knowledge of PvP and tweaked his abilities and spec'd him towards being an ultimate PvPer as per and far as Ainz's experience.
So yes, PA is capable of sweeping the entire world solo basically.

I've always loved your videos and have read the novels as well. It's just that I found it confusing that you didn't explicitly mention during the video that "ainz was fighting" in the sense that he was giving pandora's actor orders. It made it confusing, and i imagine that it made it even more confusing for someone watching the video that didn't read the novels.
For instance, when you mention that he needed to understand if the barrier blocked messages, it presents a problem, cause if ainz is messaging pandora, then obviously it doesn't block it. And if it does block it, then it's pandora's actor leading the fight, not ainz.
Other than that, thanks as always for great videos, love your content.

The red orb where Ains' stomach should be is actually a World Item, and it's the only part of his kit PA wasn't allowed to borrow.
@@ladyofmisery6519 From other comments it looks like PA was hardly allowed to use _any_ part of Ainz' kit. The only real gear he got was the cloak, with the rest being lower level backup gear. He was explicitly told to disable support passives tied to his summons, making them a lot weaker, and he was not allowed to use any spells above a certain level.

5:23 [Body of Effulgent Beryl] doesn't negate the first instance of bludgeoning damage, it can negate a single instance of bludgeoning damage on the users activation, it doesn't have to be the first. The spell is also dispelled on activation of said ability, and needs to be recast to gain both effects of the spell.
So why did ainz take buldgeoning damage?
@@kevishurdhin What do you mean? In what instance are you referring to? He simply was slightly wrong on the description of the spell. It can still fully negate damage, it just wasn't constrained to the first attack, the user can activate it on will. So they could negate the first attack if they wanted too, or wait for a more opportune time. It can only negate one single instance of damage still.

@@kevishurdhin He still took 0 damage, the book states this as you shared. He simply took the knockback. There is no book-stated explanation for this. Wild Magic is weird, it has been shown to bend reality and mimic World Class Items. Simply ignoring a portion of an effect from a Tier spell shouldn't be that hard. He already did it with teleportation inhibition.

i thought the reason why he wasnt hurt was because of his divine class items making him immune to fire.
Pandora's Actor didn't have any divine class items except the Robe.
This was Pandora's Actor, not actually Ainz, and he wasn't given Ainz's full set of gear, explicitly excluding the immunity gear to deliberately give PDL a false impression of his resistances and abilities.

From what I remember from the light novels we don't know. The light novels don't give us much more information on the PDL than the anime
Its a player he was one of the 13 heroes, two were players in that group they were low level at first but began to level up fast till they got to lvl 100, the one he wanted to bring back killed his friend who turned on them after they defeated the evil deity's

This is the reason why overlord is the near perfect isekai, our MC is strong but he needs information like what shown in the video to get success... I dont get why isekai characters want to defeat a monster without any information and yet it feels like they know this monster for along time... overlord just show how complicated a fight truly is in a world full of magic

Not really that far iirc this season covers volume 14 and the novel is at 16 and from what i saw author want to finish overlord at vol 19 cause at 15 and 16 is theocracy arc.
its close ,the anime S4 cover volume 10,11-14, the upcoming movie is volume 12-13, the last novel (for now) is volume 15-16 and rumored to end in volume 17 or 18

No, it's Pandora's Actor, the real Ainz was observing remotely like in the anime showed.
This video is focusing on the cut content of battle, as it was being shown to the audience. Since the reveal wasn't done yet, there's no need to discuss it in this video.

We know at least an Adamantite Level Adventurer can go toe to toe with Ainz even though that was Pandora's Actor disguised as Ainz. Like the Pandora cut content video we learned Pandora's can copy almost anyone albeit with his skills slightly weaker than the original.

Meh. Honestly, I'm a little disappointed considering the whole premise and entertainment value of Overlord for me, was how these unstoppable and insanely overpowered beings navigate the unknown and world-build. Giving Ainz and his underlings a "challenging fight" or someone who can "go toe to toe with them" defeats the entire point of Overlord, and turns it into the usual generic anime imho. The other big thing is that it completely invalidates all the previous opponents who were supposedly considered "most powerful" in the world previously as side characters. Like we spent whole books and half a season discussing how the kingdom had no way to kill a death knight, and how one of them is equivalent to a full city garrison - only to have two of them one shot by the guy with gun armour in the last season.
So yeah, hate to say it, but this season has been a major let-down, compared to the previous 3.
Dude, that witch you have just said is exactly why you shouldn't think there actually is anyone that can go toe to toe with Nazarick, because there isn't and never will be. That is ,like i told someone in here before. Half the point of the novel, the other half is for the audience to figure out along side Momonga. The combined might of the new world, is insignificant compared to Ainz and his guys, and yes, that is like you said, by design.
I can only say that you...frankly don't understand anything about Overlord's worldbuilding.
Least of all the fact that anyone thought of as "the strongest" up to this point has exclusively been by human standards. And human standards of strength are pathetic. The Dragonlords were established all the way back in the first season/opening volumes of the LN, too.
And even then; PDL was not "a challenge" for Pandora's Actor, PA held back the entire time purely to get information. In a regular fight it would have been quick and relatively easy - and now, with the gathered information, the much more powerful AInz will be able to utterly obliterate PDL in their eventual rematch.

Because the Kingdom doesn't. Did you forget that Adventurers are not directly associated with any one kingdom? They're wanderers who just follow the work available, and Adamantites typically have to visit multiple countries at once. Furthermore, the armour is an YGGDRASIL item of a comparable level, so even if you ignore the adventurer angle, you then have the fact that there is exactly one man, anywhere, with inherited/stolen equipment capable of killing Death Knights. A limited number of times a day. And who, without his armour, is very weak. AND who, were Albedo not ordered to hold back, would have died very quickly.
Consider, if you will: Death Knights are thought by humans to be one of the most powerful undead. The only example of a human killing one is with an item that doesn't even belong to the new world, of which there's likely only the one, and his abilities without that item aren't even top-tier by human standards. He's a level 20 pretending he's in the realm of heroes because he has an OP sword he got from former players.
You don't seem to understand that there's a difference between "insanely overpowered beings navigating the new world" and "insanely overpowered beings kill everyone and everything with no thought whatsoever".
