@PinkMetalHead Chris is a living Legend! He maybe under ‘Country’ umbrella but he is a genre of his own. Soul,blues,R&B & Outlaw Country all mixed in 1 amazing voice. A true Artist. He always plays lead guitar (only 1 guitar lesson even) & zero vocal lessons…it’s all natural! Also he writes ALL his own songs unless he does occasional cover. Also his wife, Morgane, sings harmonies with him on most of his songs. He’s so much better LIVE than studio versions.

There are many great singers, but only a few seem to have the ability to draw from an emotional well that touches us profoundly. Chris is one, the White Buffalo. Some of the greats that have passed, like Ray Charles, James Brown. Some of the older Blues singers. They could touch our soul.
You see Chris on country billings and award shows, but his is a true American Blues man. Thank you dear, for showcasing him.

I was lucky enough to see Chris Stapleton in Charlotte S.C. just as he was hitting the “Big Time”! I had first heard of him when he was in the bluegrass band The Steeldrivers. He then made a great Rock album called The Jompson Brothers before his solo career skyrocketed.
I love Chris Stapleton. He's fantastic. Anyone who has ever heard his voice has the same reaction...chills. The only other performance I have ever seen that gave me chills is Yebba singing the song My Mind (Sofar/NYC). You really must react to her.

My first time hearing this as well and I couldn't agree more, it was very moving. This gentleman has that rare Vocal quality that enables him to cover the entire spectrum of the Human Condition from a lilting tonal whisper to the wale of devistating grief. Awesome! The passion in this piece reminded me of another, the 6:33 version of "Wait a While" with Jon Lord and Sam Brown. A love song of such devistating beauty I can't begin to describe.
