If you haven’t heard yet, the animation team snuck an NPC in every episode that looks like Matt. He was the guard that Scanlan peed on in Ep. 1, and he’s the guard at the weapons check at the castle here. It was a total surprise to Matt.
There are appearances in every episode to spot like an Easter egg. In future episodes, some appearances will be harder to figure out, but they are there.
Yes, the snake has an eyepatch. It's name is Simon and it is a one-eyed trouser snake. (totally the level of some of the humor for VM)
Also, the guy nailing up the call for adventurers in the first episode, is the same as the guy collecting weapons (aka "Fuckstick") looks like and is voiced by the DM of Critical Role, Matt Mercer. He becomes kind of like the cabbage man in Avatar, except he shows up in various forms in little easter eggs in most episodes. And it rarely ends well.
And now the real story arc begins. Buckle up! (having fun with your reactions, looking forward to the rest! and now the third season starts Oct 3, so you won't have to wait as long as the rest of us!)

Pike was enchanting Grog's axe with radiant/holy magic, which can actually damage a vampire. Just Sylas is a vampire -- Delilah is a necromancer. They pass a mirror when they retire for the evening; if you missed it, watch it again.
As of this point, Percy understands his "power" as well as you do.
Sam/Scanlan writes the songs himself, with some help from his studio musician brother-in-law. I heard somewhere that he improvised the lyrics to that song in one take. I couldn't get that song out of my head for a month after watching this episode. During the original game, Sam/Scanlan would parody whatever song popped into his head at the time, but they can't do that here without paying a King's ransom in royalties.

The safe word is chenga because Jenga is copyrighted.
During the liveplay, a former member of the group enchanted earrings so that they may communicate at a distance, if anyone got into trouble, usually Vax, they'd shout Jenga and the rest of thd party would be alerted to the danger.

Since you liked the intro music, I think you'd want to know that it's a riff on the Critical Role's Campaign 2 intro "Your Turn to Roll".
The show's creators are working on their next animated series based on the second campaign, The Mighty Nein. There is no release date for now, but it's speculated to come out next spring.
