I have an 08 VE Calais l98, only have an xforce catback at the moment but am very happy with how it sounds, deep smooth tone, looking forward to hearing it with an otr and high flow cat though.

I wish GM would have brought the Holden brand to the USA. Just love these cars. Really nice cars y'all have there. My G8 has 5th gen Camaro headers (1 7/8 primaries, 3" collector), 3" duals (exhaust builders kit from Ebay), Magnaflow cats, and a Gibson muffler sitting right in the middle of the car at the start of the exhaust channel. Welded up and installed everything myself. Probably have about $800 USD in my whole set up. I love the sound and tone plus it's really loud. Mine drones really bad around 15-1600 rpms though. Maybe swapping the rear to a 5th gen Camaro differential would bring those rpms up and get it out of the drone rpms cruising plus give it a lot more get up and go.
Man when I hear you guys taking about your cars it makes me realise how little I really know about my 07 ve ss 😔

Have a stock 08 VE SSV L98 Auto Wagon and appreciated the info.
Hence might go for a 1 3/4 Header & 2.5 DFE SS engine back exhaust.
Smaller diameter will help reduce drone.

I have a cammed L98 with stainless headers, 3inch mild steel xforce right through. Pops and crackles all day.

Did you find the varex system blew fuses and played up a bit I'm looking to get one of course Hurd a few negative comments around the traps but still think it's a great idea 👍👌
I just got a 2006 ve ss today, sounds awesome, not sure if it got a new exhaust on it, it's loud and has that popping sound (sorry don't know much about cars) lol

Cameron Grieve my reco is set up a full exhaust system with straight pipe ,resonator and muffler delete you will love your car’s sound for ever.

When varex exhaust is closed does it sound like a stock ss on acceleration/idle?
The system is quiet when closed however is still a little louder with a deeper tone. This is due to the larger 3" pipe instead of the factory 2.25". The system is still quite quiet and can be mistaken for a factory system to the untuned ear.

System was supplied and installed by Liverpool Exhaust. The Hurricane factory shares the same complex so everything is basically made in-house.
Cut outs were purchased from ProFlow and fitted by Castle Hill Exhaust
The Factory did u guys put better camshafts for roaring and beefer exhaust sound
Has the AFM been disconnected and returned from the SS G8? Does it drone through the inside of the cabin ?
Manual car so AFM not programmed in. At the time of filming all AFM hardware was still installed.

hello, I am on my green P plates in Queensland and am wanting to get a 2010 commadore sv6 ve series 2 with 200,000+ KMs, is it worth it? for 6 grand?
Sam Oxley yep I have a Pontiac G8 GT which is very closely related to their Holden counterparts. My car is incredibly fun so I imagine the holdens are far more fun to drive especially if it’s a manual

I bought hm header exhaust (same as walkinshaw except cheaper). Then put a 10mm nut between rear muffler flange and main pipe flange which creates a gap. Any bigger than 10 mm it gets too loud and drones. If on both sides the sound pulses get muddled. Wouldn't change it if I could. cost was a special 1400 aus.

Full system for both cars. In the intro comments we go over what’s included on both cars.

Are these street Legal? Im going onto my p's in two months and I am getting a VE ute, would love to make it sound like a beast but I really don't want to get a defect notice for it not being legal or it's too loud. Cheers guys, hope to talk to you soon

Definitely illegal and if you are on your p's you will be driving a 6 so don't waste your money on an expensive exhaust they sound shithouse. just buy some mufflers.

the xforce is terrible. the hurricane sounds much nicer but its a shame its mild steel . the mild steel days are gone imo. longevity surely needs to play a part these days also.
there are stacks of ve ss's driving around with hurricane mild steel exhausts, over 10 years old and there are no signs of rust on them.

@@cenzofrisina6517 i know the old x force mild steel would rust badly but it was due to no drainage for any condensation. if you look at pacemaker, hurricane, manta all the good brands they have tiny holes at the bottom of the mufflers for drainage
