It is and it isnt. This might bring in fomo which personally im not a big fan of. I like to drop in drop out and feel like im not missing out on anything while im at work. With this you might start thinking shit did i put those guys to work or not during work and that is an shitty feeling which i dont like personally.

@@Ps1ClassicGameplay It'd be the exact same without it. Shit did I finish my maps, oh i forgot to buy xx investment item now it'll cost a lot and so on. If you've got fomo for the game you'll have it regardless, there's people playing the game for 36 hours in one sitting, you'll always be missing out.

I'm glad that they're bringing over mechanics from PoE 2, helpless familiarize ourselves with the mechanics so it's a seamless transition over to PoE 2

@@ninetailedfox579121 Gold or some equivalent will be in the future, as there is no other way to put automatic market, it has to be something generated by playing to pay for transactions so bots wouldn't be a problem.

Also quality on armors in now multiplicative instead of additive, which gives a large amount of flat defense.
That's actually a godsend. And not being coddled into slamming determination on every armour build is a big opener for build allowance for especially melee builds' reservation skills.
Determination is still really important for armor stacking, it still has the percentage more bonus.
ye they just cut away the flat value on it, so it won't just give you solid armor boost on its own. To compensate we got higher bases and multiplicative quality. More armor will come from gear than from cringe auramod stacking.

Love the changes. I find myself burning out after a couple of weeks normally and never finishing things like voids, bosses, or challenges. I think having a city builder will pull me back into the game and keep it interesting for me.

I'm a more casual player but I am so glad I can finally play melee...well, with real viability
But there are barely any changes for melee if you read the patchnotes. They removed melee totems and just doubled melee skill base dmg, that is all. It's basically same thing just that you won't need totems since they are gone for melee. Raider is also deleted from the game for some reason.
@@GTRaijin but hasn't the fact that melee requires gem spaces taken up by the totem and rhe support gems, been a major issue with melee builds?
It's so much more than that, rage is much more accessible, overexert for warcries, tinctures, quality amounts to a more damage modifier on physical damage, and better armor bases. Melee was JUICED UP in this league.
Not to mention, vaal pact is back to its original glory and is melee only, banners are the new totems and are unkillable, and also gladiator rework.
So hyped. Just being able to take a chill pill and keep playing the game while I build a town is so awesome to me. Rebalancing the meta is a breath of fresh air as I haven't played melee into end game in a long time. So many QOL's. This'll be my first season on PC after 8k hours on console which makes me even more exciting. See you out there exiles!

I loved almost every single thing announced. I don't even mind the banner placement bit, it's instant, doesn't die, and auto picks up. Though they're kinda dog water effects. The city builder sim looks AMAZING for casual gameplay. I get to play bleed lacerate. Just, it's so nice to see everyone (mostly) excited for this league and I'm excited to dig in.
The golden age of arpgs is here. These games are properly dueling out for our time.
I genuinely feel like LE pushed GGG with its amazing quality of life and streamlining of old dated ARPG design.

Hey Ziz this new league was really making my itch to come back a reality, is there anyway you can make a POE university on some QOL changes or some new permanent base league mechs they kept in for someone that hasn't played for 6+ leagues since Scourge which was in 2021 which is crazy btw didn't think its been that long.
i always wanted age of empires in poe with currancy auction house and more. this league best ever
Div cards being on the AH is crazy, that basically means you can buy most uniques off there
7:38 conditional molten shell with cast on damage taken is actually amazing because it is not just conditional it work as you want it to work perfectly.
I thought I was just going to wait until PoE 2, well that may have changed.

This type of thing usually starts off good and then ends up trash over time, in a few months when it's worn out it's welcome it will be gone forever

I think the league mechanic could be really cool. A lot of micro-management early on then a lot of passive income after your set up.
I got 23 hours in Path of Exile. Never got into it that much. I also always chose the melee class which never felt great to me.
Well, now, there's no way I'm not gonna play, return, get into this and give PoE another chance
What skill did you play? Anything but Boneshatter for melee was awful, many consider it the only melee build that felt good in a long time

I only have 100hrs in game since November, this is amazing to me it's a full new game I'm sooo impressed my wife will probably leave, never finished campaign btw so this time...
@@Daniel-zy1ir only did the first few missions, did like act 1 or 2 if I recall correctly. So yeah, always chose the melee class, can't recall its name either

Im so excited to see how the auto map runs work and the loot you get, going to be either crap or insane. Imagine putting in 20 crimson temples and collecting mageblood cards.
the city builder really peaked my interest and made my jaw drop that they added this. Ive only been playing POE for a short time but I'm so excited for this league
People say Farmville League but this League reminds me most of V Rising where you stick resources into refiner machines that automatically make something out of them over time, then you spend that time in top down arpg combat.
I uninstalled PoE during last league and wanted to wait until PoE2 to get back into it. But this looks INSANE!
It wasn't even the league mechanics that bothered me. The game just felt a lot more like work rather than play, especially if you only have limited time to play it, but you've already played long enough (3k+ hours in my case) that only the endgame content feels rewarding to you anymore. That was my experience at least. First T17 map I entered tore me apart so bad I just uninstalled the game at that point to save myself the time. But they addressed that, apparently, and they gave us all this new stuff to play with... basically all that's missing is the ability to hire soldiers in your town and invade the towns of other people with them, and they'll basically have added Age of Empires into PoE, absolutely nuts.

If this is successful... Imagine town building going core. You could have a town and hideout. Then expand town mechanics to have Clash of Clans functionality. 😮
a little bit of nuance from what I've gathered:
you can respec anywhere via Regrets
you have to interact with the NPC (or in hideout) to respec with gold
Ward, tincure, endurance charges. That is what I am here for.

Thanks Ziz. So funny, I said the same thing as you when I saw the announcement: Now you can game while you game so you won't need to two-screen all your life (not that I do).
I think the absolute best part is that the mechanic kinda forces you to play the base game lmao. Things being time gated, what to do while you wait? Well, just go blast some maps and wait for the ping to show up. With ToTA as an example, you could basically stay there for a full session and grind and not have to play the base game at all, in fact it felt bad to play the base game since ToTA got so rewarding, for me at least. With this league, now you have both map based encounters (the circles) and a whole city sim to take care of while you blast and oh lord my multitasking is gonna enjoy this league so much I think!
Other than that, I'm insanely curious about what the auction market will do to the economy since now literally everyone can and should trade early currency. Don't have alch but need one, let's see if someone needs alterations. Or one or two orb of chances to buy a skill, selling all your transmutes for them in act 3, like you did not trade like that before because of the time it took to trade like that.
Did they introduce a hideout portal? Because at the beginning of a season, going to town takes FOR-FREAKIN-EVER. Early season, we just want to jettison blues and yellow to build currency faster. But we're time-blocked by the shear amount of time it takes to just enter town. The server capacity issues persist for weeks at the beginning of the season. Also, being able to turn off the annoying "first to do X" messages would be nice too.
Now they need an item auction house as bots and websites have pretty much taken the social aspect of trade anyways
I'm always happy to see PoE news, but the live was... Wow, I don't remember last time I was this excited. I went in with some expectations, hoping to get some met, but they were blown out of the water.
Still a couple of dark points with like tinctures and banners that I don't like, and crimson dance not really being adressed by the bleed changes, but everything else? I was just clappign for Mark.
I'm sad I'm gonna miss league launch, but I'm binging this league like crazy
A lot of builds which were considered suboptimal are going to be viable again. Bleed and Impale is back baby!
we've been here before - there will be landmines all over, don't trust notes, trust what happens when you play the game yourself.
I'm so freaking hyped up for the new league, I already was before the live stream showing everything new, now I'm unstoppably hyped, I have anxiety and I just want to play the new league already, I've had so much fun in Necropolis and now I will have so much more fun with a fun league mechanic, I love city building and management games so this is like a dream coming true. Also I wanted to play melee and with melee buffs I'm really happy and can't wait to try it out. And of course, in-game quick & easy trade is gonna be awesome, so much QoL for us!
You can also click all stackables from you inventory into your stash with the same mechanic. This will save thousands of clicks during this league for me.
someone took note of V Rising i tell you Ziz. this entire settlement building smells like it and i love it. we'll have reasons to farm and grind shit, rather then just bulk up stuff and sell. This settlement building mech can even go directly core i tell you.
I like when games are gated through difficulty or gated though location, so like if you need to find stuff, then you go find it, and you can now do things faster.
I'm the most excited about the settlement feature, I really want it in the base game

My biggest concern with having a game in my game so I can game while I game is that I will become clinically addicted and give up on all my life goals.
Every time I thought I was out, they pull me back in!
I feel like the point of defensive banners is to give you ANOTHER layer of defense, rather than adding what you already have. Like If I play suppression, I would just cap it, and use the block banner for the temporary boost, and vice versa. Not every build can afford to cap both of them naturally, so it's an accessible way to gain both layers when you need it, rather than letting you investing less in what you already going for before.
My warden heavy strikes build is already setup in my POB. Reaching already 2.2 million dps each hit with like 30 div Investments without the consideration of new armour, weapons, gem and ascendandy buffs. Looks pretty wild tbh

I mean a big problem with wod garrisons was it destroyed gathering professions then later give way too much currency

@@AndrewWilson-fb8ge It's probably going to give casuals more currency, but juicing maps will still likely be the best thing for stuff like divines or gambling with maps.

I haven't played in a few years now and waiting for 2.0 but i may play this league, feel like i can't miss out on it. i have a lot going on in my life though so may have little to no time to play but i will try.
Reading the patch notes felt like hell, but I think that melee (mostly marauder and duelist) will be one of the best classes. Like you said, a lot of defences such as Phys Dmg taken as elemental damage (Gravicius and Korell Unveiled Mods for example) are removed or nerfed. While the extra max res from the skill tree can be found from mostly the skills in the southern hemisphere and also elemental damage reduction from Endurance Charges.
I'm excited to finally play slams again! Especially with a few of my build's warcries auto exerting.

I think the one bad thing about this league is that Raider got deleted instead of a buff/rework.
but everything else is just crazy good, even though raider was my favorite ascendancy and i am devastated by its removal, the melee buffs, central market, etc etc are so good im still happy with it lol

I'm hoping to see a guide for some necromancer builds come out. I've always wanted to get into this game, but I prefer summoner builds where my summons do a fair bit of the work when it comes to CRPGs like this.
I just started playing on my Mac M1 a few days ago, game ran flawlessly just got to level 38 on my duellist and went upstairs for dinner, game back down and I keep getting an error code “path of exile is damaged” and the game won’t start

no unlimited trauma stacks and massive mana cost increase, hope you find a way to sustain it.
@@vendelinvomacka7559 I didn't find anything about Trauma support in the patch notes, gonna read that again, and the mana, well it will not be only me, everyone will have to figure it out, the tree has new mana passives, you can use Fuel The Fight in the clusters, Elreon Rings, or simply ignored it with a Soul Taker that is a very good weapon for my build, is fast and makes all the phys dmg chill so my main weapon Frostbreath mace will always do double damage, i did all the challenges in Necrópolis with it
Technically you can tick off Race! on your Bingo Sheet since the new Hideout has a Rhoa Race track :)
question regarding the endurance charges.
the most of elemental reduction you can get is 90% so if you have at least 4 endurance charges, there is no point in even investing into 90% all res since you will have 90% damage mitigation anyway right?
while that would make res capping easier, it would also mean that the jugg will be far less tanky overall then right? cause adding armour into the elemental damage mitigation got you over 90% elemental damage reduction. so why do people claim jugg didnt get nerfed?
While res got nerfed, almost every other aspects of defensive layers got buffed. More hp on most Armour, multiplicative added defense from quality on Armour instead of additive, more defensive nodes etc. Defense should actually be easier to keep up with this league

SST is absolute garbage in terms of damage and scaling. So good luck with that in more difficult content.

seems like alpha testing for PoE2 to see what sticks... but also, kinda genius.
Had low expectations and was ready to appreciate any sort of improvement over Necropolis, but they just kept going and going with the announcements and features and it blew my mind.
I was also whiplashed from the D4 stream so maybe I'm a bit vulnerable to the hype like Ziz but damn, GGG really cooked!

Conditional defenses that aren't reliable (the new banners) are a weird choice.
Nobody wants their reactive defense button to be a dice roll. It's way better to take 15% less damage every time, than take 30% less damage half of the time.
It's not conditional, it's manual. You use it when you want to stop dodging and start doing lots of damage instead. Melee has a problem where you spend too much dodging, the answer is temporary defensive buffs that let you bring the pain.
@@blackomega34 It's a manual trigger for a conditionally beneficial buff (chance to suppress spell damage)
Also to the point of defences: a lot of extra damage last league was coming from necropolis mechanics
I havent played poe in over a year i think. I am curious if an old build i ise to play would be good now. It was a multine strike life leach build. Dont remember if it was jugg chieften, etc. I always enjoyed that build. Wasent the fastest boss killer but man he was unkillable unless you dont attack.
Early game archmage did get nerfed by the change to inspiration support now being less mana cost instead of reduced.
Everyone's thinking on playing melee but archmage frostbolt ice nova is literally unchanged and very few will be playing it so it will be insanely cheap.
