    Hi Wendy and Matt. Thanks for your time and thoughtful comments on HTs. My wife and I are in the process of selecting a model and scheduling a visit to the IN facility. Your videos have been very helpful and informative. Please keep them coming. The bug screens are a great idea and would make a few extra bucks on the side. Sleeping position would seem to be easier the way you are doing it. We will find out...

    Great video and interesting to hear your perspectives. In our 5x8 with closed galley, we sleep with heads to the galley. For reference we’re 5’4” and 5’11”. We fold our trifold for travel because we load items on the bare floor instead of on top of the unfolded mattress. We have very rarely sat on it in “couch mode”. Thanks for all the great Hiker content.

    Our first three camping trips we slept with our heads at the front. On our fourth trip, we switched to our heads at the galley end. We find it easier to get in and out and I agree with Wendy, the dirt stays at the front end. We have long phone chargers so they reach anywhere in the Hiker.
    My nighttime rule is that nobody can open a Hiker side door while a light is on inside, it attracts bugs inside. It really helps to keep the mosquitoes outside.

    If I had a hiker trailer, i would sleep with my head toward the galley. I would have the extra shelf and the covers on the vent elbow. Your son did a great job on that cover. I just NEED a potty inside. Thank you for sharing and be safe.

      You could always do a potty in a side shower room...... :-)

    Hi Matt and Wendy! Eager to see you guys again in September, since we missed last year.
    We've tried sleeping both ways. Deb likes feet forward because she says it is easier to get in and out. I like the opposite, because with tucked sheets I find that easier than having to scooch all the way to the back to get under the sheet. We of course sleep whichever way Deb wants. :)
    Yes, definitely interested in the screen cover, and have filled the survey. I have the 90° fitting now with a piece of old tent screen repair over the end held by zip ties. Works, but not particularly attractive. I need to dig out an old bicycle inner tube and cut a Ranger Band to cover the edges.

    Two nights in new Hiker. Slept heads toward front. Theoretically, open space under galley is for our rather large german shepherd puppy. Will need to train this though! Max fan really works! Had to crack large windows instead of door windows so Colorado cold air didn't pull in over our faces. Think we will need all 4 windows open and turn fan up in warmer locations. Anyone one else using all natural materials futon? Put a coconut fiber mar under for air circulation. Thanks everyone for sharing- it really helps us newbies! How about an episode on mosquito solutions?

    Hi Matt & Wendy. My husband, Jason and I sleep with our heads to the front. Jason is 6'2" and the bottom half of the galley is open, so he can stretch out a little.

      How large are the sleeping cabins? Would the 5x10 accommodate 6ft 5 without me having to stick my feet under the galley opening?

    You could easily turn those into mosquitoe traps. Put the screen on the other end of the 90° use co2 lure. Your fan catches the pests

    How come nobody has awnings on the drivers side?

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  Před rokem

      The way most campgrounds are set up, people tend to live on the passenger side of the trailer. Some people do add them to the driver's side too but not as often.

    • @freetaylor72
      @freetaylor72 Před rokem

      @@MWDAdventures yea I kinda thought that, but what kind of awnings go good on the drivers side that won't interfere with the shower stall

  • @davidmaslanka3145
    @davidmaslanka3145 Před 3 lety +1

    Good idea but I think the grillwork is excessive and will unnecessarily restricts the air flow. Reduce or eliminate to increase the "free air" and allow for better circulation.
