Congratulation from China. Most Chinese greatly appreciate the decades of friendship between Serbia ( Yugoslavia) and China, specially the support you have given us at our hard time. The movie "Валтер брани Сарајево" (Walter Defends Sarajevo) was one part of Chinese people life who was born before 1980s. This movie was every kid's movie enlightenment. The movie "Most" (Bridge) was another one and the interlude song in the movie “Bella Ciao” was most popular foreign song in China over decades。 Red Star Belgrade soccer team (FK Crvena zvezda) was very famous in China. Chinese Proverb says: A drop of water shall be returned with a burst of spring. Meaning: Even if it was just a little help from others, you should return the favour with all you can when others are in need. Now it is our turn to return the favour.

Kalispera Ellada. My first travel to Greece 30 years ago, from Novi Sad to Athens. It was the train Munich-Athens. I left NS about 8 in the morning and arrived in Athens the next day very early, say 5:30. I remember the night crossing from Thessalonikh to Athens was quite fast back then. The name of this train is EMU Stadler KISS 200. It is rarely used as an RE, RE is not the name of the trains, RE as in Regional Express or Swiss - RegioExpress is more of a service than an explicit model of trains. The KISS 200 trains are usually used as interregional transport because of their capability to drive 200 Km/h. In Germany of now you will find these trains in small quantities as IC line. Germany has ordered 47 of these, to be used as RE line until the end of 2022, which is not much if you ask me and if you know the DB it might won't even happen. I think it is a stupid plan, even if it is in small quantity, because these trains will not be used in their intended manner. They will be allowed to drive a max speed of 160 Km/h, which is also not very likely to be achieved because, german RE trains rarely have the possibility to accelerate to such speeds because they share most of their tracks with freight trains and often even high speed lines like ICE/IC, so they are in a constant battle of surpassing freight trains and having to wait for ICE/IC lines to surpass them. If the track system in Germany was different then this would not be a bad idea, since it is as it is... it is stupid. The ordered trains were formerly assets of the Austrian WestBahn where they have been purposefully used and are now getting rid of for the KISS 3 type of trains. In Switzerland these trains are used as S-Bahn line, which is a even lower category than RE but since they have a great railway infrastructure, a different standard can be applied.

I BLS imaju KISS 4delne u Švajcarskoj i lepo izgledaju.

The train is good, but unfortunately, this line is completely unfunctional and non-profitable.
First of all, Belgrade currently (and that will not be different in the future) does NOT have Central Railway station. At this moment, Belgrade has only two half-functional Railway stations, far away from city center and, what is more important, with NO access of public transport (buses) to them.
That practically means that you have to transport to those railway stations by your car (if you find a parking place), or you have to pay taxi, what is pretty expensive when you have to go to suburban station.
Second, current ticket price is promotional (about 3 EUR for 2nd class for one way), and when promotional period finishes, that price will be about 9-10 EUR one way.
That means following - for two persons, to go to Novi Sad and back, you have to pay 2*9 EUR for tickets + 2 * 7-8 EUR for taxi in Belgrade, plus taxi or public transport in Novi Sad, so all that is about 40-45 EUR.
If you go to Novi Sad and back by car, total costs (with all those enormous fuel prices and road tolls are maximum 20 EUR.
So we, citizens of Serbia, pay from our taxes, all big total costs of this tourist attraction.
USA, France and China have Disneyland, Spain has Portaventura and Terra Mitica, and Serbia has National Railway.

The whole point of the new railway junction in Belgrade is to have multiple main stations (New Belgrade and Belgrade Center the most central ones). Passangers can choose at which station to get on. New Belgrade has a great connection with trams, frequent busses and a large parking. It is also the future terminus for long distance busses in Belgrade, which will strenghten its position as a tranit hub. Belgrade Center, on the other hand, lacks good transport links. It will be worked one, trolleys are planned to go to the entrance and new point of entry will be added to the highway (with possible bus connections). A tram connedtion is plannad as well as a connection to the M3 in the distant future.
Prices will remain low, plans for high pricing have been scraped and they have taken a more social approach. Prices will be kept low by the government in order to encourage train travel. Regional trains have reached their highest price, while the REx and IC trains have not. IC trains will be 603 RSD (5 euros) one way or around a 1000 for round trip.In addition, there will be discounts for SRB PLUS card holders.
8 months in, we saw changes in timetables in order to keep up with demand, and yet we still have some overcrowding on certain days. Commuters are increasing in number (first generation of students started commuting from city to city dor studies), from now on it is only going to improve with new services, more capacity and better last mile solutions.
