This band placed last in the finals with such a spectacular arrangement!! That is a testament to how complex and extraordinarily high the musical standard is for Panorama!! Great Job Darren!! You were chosen as the 11th best in the world in your craft for 2020. How many of us can say that confidently regarding our line of work.

Credit should always be given to hard work and tenacity. They came to play and play Fonclaire did!!! Congratulations on 4th place in my book. It was a pleasure to see one of my favorites back to form. Keep beating that pan!!!
The days of Steel Bands from outside north winning panorama, are long gone. No matter how amazing you played. Form a federation with Eastern, and country bands and do your own thing.
strongly agree with you and don't forget tobago too, cause no matter what those bands side of north do they can never win so sad yes.

That's true but the north band's hav a sting on the final night hard to beat especially bands like renegades All stars despers phase 2
@@garywarner6526 That sting you talking about partner is all in peoples mind. The next day every band and their supporters are telling everyone they were robbed. The rotation of foreign and local judges in between years, will solve a great part of that problem. Because you will never be able to satisfy everybody. But I think it is a better way.
@@harolddottin10 I agree with you 100% bt I remember the year fonclarie was looking like they would've won panorama and Renegades took it that night I wouldn't of argue wit that decision because Renegades playing that kitchener tune arrange by jit samaroo was powerful.

This band definitely didn’t deserve to be placed last. The arrangement in the frontline/high pans were amazing 😍 for the the entire song however personally I wanted more from the mid range pans, they sounded as if they were strumming from beginning to end. Maybe it was done on purpose to highlight the arrangement in the high section idk 🤷🏾♂️, but it was very noticeable in my view that the mid range and background didn’t add much to the arrangement.
kofi massiah Ikrr I played with Fonclaire and the band really didn’t deserve last place I know everyone is all the bands practiced hard and worked their butt off Fonclaire also practiced harder than ever and took every constructive critism and improved the arrangement tremendously from semi finals to finals so it was disappointing but when I watch the performance it makes me happy that we were able to perform in finals cuz they didn’t even make it to finals last year at least the judges didn’t rob them that opportunity , I loved the arrangement kinda wish I played cellos for it because they had some SWEET Parts😍😍😍😍but as for the arrangement with the mid pan range it’s a bit tricky when he was adding to that arrangement because you have to make sure that all the parts are in sync and makes Sense and most importantly is HEARD i saw so much comments on other band performances where people complaining that the arrangement all over the place and don’t make sense and I glad he took out certain parts and added certain parts to the arrangement cuz Fonclaire might have gotten backlash for that also and that’s the last thing the band need on top of placing 11th . I totally get what your saying tho maybe if there was more time he could of added a little more arrangement to the mid pans (excluding cellos cuZ they had a lot of music already) but time was the issue everything needs to be practiced so it’s better not to add it than add it and Flop on the big stage that would have been embarrassment
Zakiya Lesley got you! If I was to place Fonclaire on the high on arrangement only I would place them either 2nd or 3rd, yes it was that good. However, the band is being judged based on the entire band cohesively and the background music really hurt that. Mid range pans bring out the beauty in an arrangement and if that lacks then the performance will fall. Just hope next year the arranger does a bit more work with the mid section, quads and guitars howling and whistling a is the sweetest thing ever!!
Zakiya Lesley if you listen from 4:55-5:15 that’s the perfect example of the frontline arrangement is out of this world but the background arrangement did nothing for it, you can literally hear the strumming in the mid range pans.
kofi massiah Id agree to disagree because even tho it was (lacking arrangement in the mid range pans the performance still didNt fall💃🏾❤️) But I totally agree with what else your saying all constructive critism is welcome and appreciated I’ll forward the message

Look here let's face reality, i love the fonclaire band but this was stupidness on pan the lucky they came last truth be told they should have arrested the arranger
No tempo I agree not enough of the song itself to much so call arrangement yes I love fonclaire but yes they lucky to even make it to the finals with this not much musical value
For the people that love just texting stop !! This band should not have made it out of the semies!! This ain’t no fontclair an Darren Shepard will never be no phill get that clear !! No tempo at all this rendition was water down , so to the ones that know no music step an don’t talk music . New south run down move up the street if you are from south.
