    The only thing i don’t understand about what chris has said this off-season is he keeps repeating “Josh allen has played consistently better than Mahomes the past two years.” Yet after the afc championship game last season when Mahomes played flawlessly and Allen had a really bad game Chris said on PFT that “Allen is really awesome, but he’s not on mahomes’ level yet.” So now just cause Mahomes had a month stretch of some bad games in 2021 all the sudden Allen has been better for two years? Idk that logic dont make sense to me

    The Bills played 9 of their 17 regular season games against backup or rookie QBs. Every team gets some easy games, but the Bills played against bad offenses literally over half the time. Meanwhile, they got dominated when they played the Chiefs, Bucs, Colts, Titans, etc. They were the #1 defense in stats only.

    • @tohsakamine
      @tohsakamine Před 2 lety

      They weren't dominated by thr chiefs or the bucs lmfao. They were dominated by the colts but that was do to turnovers caused by the bills playing terribly. The beat the chiefs in the regular season. Quite literally dominated them and in the second game in the playoffs Allen was the better QB. Any analyst will tell you that. Even Nick Wright who is a Josh Allen hater admitted that and even said if that game was in buffalo the bills would have won. The game was lost by a bad defensive stint (Without their #1 corner) and a coin flip. And they weren't dominated by the bucs. They were dominated in the first half and then dominated in the second. And were robbed by the refs when they didn't call a blatant PI call when the corner tackled diggs before the ball was even close while in the endzone,, which would have won the game. Even the defender got up looking for the flag and was surprised. And in OT they got away with the same thing and then called a terrible PI call against the bills that was absolutely terrible because Mike evens pulled the corner into himself to get the flag on 3rd down. And the stats do matter man lmao. They lost their #1 corner and still had the best defense in the league and they've been top 5 for 4 out of the last five years. What, did they get a lucky brake every year?

    • @darylthebarrel2316
      @darylthebarrel2316 Před 2 lety

      @@tohsakamine yes, Josh Allen was the better QB in that divisional game with less passing yards, less rushing yards and rushing TD’s and more carries, worse QBR and completion % all against a significantly worse defense. Half of his passing TD’s (2) were against CB’s that literally just fell down. Story checks out.

    • @mafiamom3556
      @mafiamom3556 Před rokem

      @@darylthebarrel2316 DVOA accounts for weak opponents and still had Bills defense ranked #1 last season and had their performance against the Texans as one of the greatest defensive performances in NFL history. Some of those backup QBs had really good games against other playoff teams, like Mike White against the Bengals or Davis Mills against the Pats, or Taylor Heineke against the Bucs and Raiders, but were all dominated by the Bills. Were the Bills the only team in the last 20 years to play a soft schedule? Because that's how long it was since a team got 2 shutouts in the first 4 games?
      It's amazing because nobody cared about strength of schedule in the 2020 season when Bills played over 1/2 of their games against top 10 passing defenses, more than Mahomes and Rodgers combined that season. Yet strength of schedule was irrelevant because they all get paid?? Fast Forward 1 season and it's the most important factor for evaluating teams and players?? Go back and watch pregame stuff from games at the end of the season both year for the Bills and KC. It's incredible the 180 everyone did on SOS in a year.
      As far as that playoff game, just watch the game. Mahomes played out of his mind but Allen had the greatest playoff run for a QB in NFL playoff history. Allen is the highest rated post season QB in the NFL. Both before and after this most recent playoffs run, Allen averaged more yards per game and a better TD/Int ratio than Rodgers, Mahomes, and Brady. All 3 of those guys have multiple playoff games with more int than Allen has in his career in the playoffs. I understand they have played in a lot more playoff games, but especially with Mahomes, not enough to account for that kind of stat. Mahomes has played in 5 more post season games and has a total of 3 individual postseason games with more int than Allen has thrown in his post season career.
      Allen is the only QB in the NFL that no other QB can make all the plays he makes and he accounts for the largest percentage of offensive production in the NFL. If Allen played with the exact same stats and team for a team like New England or Dallas, he would be the face of the NFL but he plays in Buffalo so he still has people, with a national audience, claiming Baker Mayfield is a better QB.

    I love the pod and I watch every year, but there is no way you can justify Herbert and Burrow over Rodgers. Herbert, Burrow, and even Stafford, they make a lot of “wow” throws. But they also often put their teams in BAD spots. Stafford straight up lost a few games for the Rams. Rodgers has just as much “wow,” with none of the bad. Having him lower than 3 is joke, especially considering the fact you could make a compelling argument for him being #1. Chris missed big time on his top 5.

      Was Rodgers not putting his team in a bad spot when his offense only scored 10 points in a playoff loss this year, a game in which they punted on 6 out of 10 drives of which 5 were three and outs? He’s below those guys because his conservatism costs his team games

    • @papapeaches0149

      @@yvjlvyu They would’ve won the game had the special teams executed though. And alternatively, he could have given the game away had he pressed too hard, which is what these other guys are subject to do. If you want to put a grade on these guys, just about every Rodgers game will be an A, with him really only dipping to C+ about once or twice. Alternatively, you get these other guys that could really end up anywhere alone the spectrum any given week. I see the argument for Burrow and Herbert, but I think we’re dinging Rodgers too much and following too much hype on the other guys. Rodgers is far more consistent and intelligent, and even though he’s almost 39, not far off in the talent category.

      I can agree...QB's raise the opportunity to win, like no other position...but you do need a team...a RB...an O-Line...wrs...and defense....with these in tow...a QB CAN correlate to WinS.....Even Simms will admit, Goff doesn't WIN the games in the playoffs that Stafford did...the Super Bowl....vs SF...and I doubt he gets up on Tampa...then does that magic to avoid OT...vs the greatest....Hell, put another QB on Tampa...and they don't get close in that Rams game...unless of course it's Herbert, Allen, Mahomes, Russell...Watson

      Simms is right about Rodgers. He plays conservative after he believes they can control the game. Brees just got old and couldn’t score as proficiently as before.
      But noting that “Simms really epitomizes what’s wrong with the sports world." is a gross generalization and hyperbole that you failed to explain how an analyst with an opinion who isn’t actively playing the game, is what’s wrong with the sports world.

      lmaoooooooo, stop it, i got mahomes at 4, after that melt down with a 21-3 lead in the afc chip game, he's 4th on my list, Allen is clearly the best Qb in the game, thats why his team is favorite to win the super bowl, it's because of him

      lmaooooooooo, mahomes didn't beat Allen, tyrek hill beat the bills defense, Allen clearly outplayed mahomes, mahomes was throwing short passes and tyrek hill was turning them into 70 yard td's, which made his stats look good, Allen was doing everything for his team, mahomes then went to the afc chip game, where he was up 21-3 at halftime and wet the bed, only scored 3 points in the whole 2nd half, he costed his team the game, mahomes is the 4th best quarterback in the league, don't know how anybody with football sense can put him at number one with the Sb performance he had a couple of years ago and the afc chip game he just had, he's regression , Allen is trending up
