While Danny is singing the first verse, I love the way Cory Wells is just standing there with his mic, pants pulled way up like my grandfather's, moving to the music like a 7th grader at his first school, and then,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he open his month and that power voice comes out - too cool!
Even the waves stopped crashing when Carl sang Heaven. Carl truly was an Angel that God allowed us to share with him for too short of a time. R.I.P. CARL AND DENNIS
Corey and Danny from Three Dog Night, two of the greatest voices ever...I love the Beach Boys, I remember the first time I heard them on the radio back in 1963 singing Surfin USA and Shutdown. Brian Wilson is a genious and their music will never die.
During Heaven, it was so quiet. I'll bet you could have heard a pin drop. It's almost like time stood still for those few moments and like everyone was totally immersed in Carl singing this song, to not miss a thing. That is how beautiful Heaven really is. Thank you, Carl Wilson for writing such a beautiful song.
Watching carl sing heaven really brings a tear to my eyes. Not only is that such a beautiful song but such a beautiful person sang it. God bless you carl.
Thank you so much TahoeCanoga for posting this hidden gem. Lots of Carl goodness here which is always a great thing! This is the first time I've seen "Heaven" performed live and it is done to perfection by the man himself. R.I.P Carl & Denny!
The song at 6:32 that Carl sings in memorial for his older brother, Dennis is particularly touching to me. I recently lost my older brother Dennis. We grew up in Hawthorne, within a mile of the BB, and went to the same Schools. Sadly we have lost Carl now as well. I love the Beach Boy's they were truly America's band.
if Brian had had his way and the Darlin' single had come out as a Redwood single - that would have been their first hit - Brian would have left the Beach Boys to produce them (this was right after Smile after all) - not sure what would have happened after that - Dennis and Carl make a power trio with someone - David Marks - Ed Carter - Bruce and Mike start the oldies tour in 68 (?)

Chuck was no slouch, either.
The best group ever.

After all that, we hear who the real singer is. RIP Carl.

Well, this just proves Brian was right to give Darlin to Carl
@CDH41057 That song was the highlight of the show. Wish I could find some footage of Carl on his solo tours.
you didn't include the closing number when Brian introduced spirit of rock and roll
Yeah, WTF?
Belinda was cute back then but who dressed her???
First dress ever sold on Craigslist...
