Thanks! I got tired of hooking things at about 150 items per hour, so I started messing around.
@Krakenfall even more clever use paint with a stack size of 800 and they count individually so you can easily get it IDK how ppl always forget about paint
You can do it faster: drop as many stacks of planks in the water, Fill up your inventory so you cant pick it up, Then hook it again and again because every time you do so it just drops back into the water. It takes like 30s that way. :)
DO THIS INSTEAD! I assumed the item needed to be moving for some reason and was too lazy to take it one step further. Great tip!

@@Krakenfall I’m unsure if it’s too lazy, rather more detailed the tedious for effectiveness. If it was more lazy this would the original idea. So there’s many different ways to put this LoL

450 hours, yet i only have ~1500 items hooked, you're a lifesaver!
The Josh is leaking in all as planned
that is very very complicated and uses so many resources to complete. i just dropped an anchor and dropped a stack of items individually off the side so i had about 100 individual planks in the water, then used the hook to pick them up, then repeat until 5000. it took a while but it was simple and didnt involve making a contraption to complete.
It's like selling your stuff back to yourself

Or fill your invatory in full and toss at least 100 items in the ocean, then refill your invatory to where it is filled then hook the ball that forms. Takes about 5 mins or so

Using paint is actually easier. Since it's all counted as seperate items, a full stack of 600 paint thrown 9 or so times can get you that achievement.

Achievements should be a guide and a reward for playing the game, doing over and over the same action is no longer an achievement, it's a Job.

Raft? That's a name I haven't heard in a long time
I always play on peaceful mode and I usually just jump into the water in the early stages to pick up items. Then after I build nets I rarely need to hook items. So yeah I'm never getting that achievement.
If only raft was on console that base is awsome

You can just use paint but if you like this, this is fine too.

Works better if you drop all the items on one tile then delete the tile then hook the multiple inventories you stopped on it at once.

Just anchor your ship and do it while being in 1 place
Then drop single items lets say 2-3 full inventory of 20 stacks wood. Then fill up the inventory with another item. Then all the wood continues to drop and you get count every time. I had 200+ per throw. And all items was still in the water.
Now the difficult became easy

As the commonly misunderstood time consuming achievement that is not at all difficult but just time consuming.

It's funny how every time someone makes this type of a video where they end it in a way that's supposed to make a seamless loop, it fails miserably because you can hear the weird pause between the end and start sentence and because youtube takes few seconds to reload the video. 😂

Its not the most difficult achievement. Its the most tedious achievement. Cheese is fine because it's going to let people get that while not forcing them to spend (possibly waste) insane amounts of time

I'd say 250 hours in a single player game is a alot...that's a drop in the bucket for my multiplayer games though...😅
@@Krakenfall yeah multiplayer games are very different or at least story games, I have probably among all the halo games well over 6-10k hours over my lifetime although sadly I don’t have any accurate tracker
i did this once just to test out of i can do it to my own items
never had the idea of using it to get the achievement though

That's like the biome searching achievement in Minecraft. Not hard, but (without research) very tedious.
I just dropped like 3000 items in the same spot and hooked it all at once
one of the easyest achievements....... anchor next to a island drop a craptonne of items in the water and hook them.....
The boat doesn't even have to be moving, I have done this by just dropping things off the side and hooking them up in place
Could be even faster if you pull the hook to you while walking back the where you dropped them

i have played 70 hours and already 2000 but i play in multiplay idk if it matters
You could just drop it while stationary and then just hook everything in the one spot, then you dont have to move
a cheesty way to do it. you mean a great way to 100% a game made by cretin developers? 5000 times 5000!
Just use 10 full stacks of paint. Itll be 6000 items and only needs to be gathered in one go

If the game mechanics allow it without using a glitch, bug, or exploit then it is a natural law of that universe. It's just like floating blocks in Minecraft. You all know for a fact that if real life allowed for objects to be suspended in mid air fully supported by nothing...we'd be building so high you'd need a oxygen mask to go to work.

Its cheese but the finest of it's kind, it's like Dead Rising 2. Sure u may do it on your own but at that point your just getting the last few trophies to pop an dont mind cheesing it.
