    So uhhh I just saw this and that exact reverend Jetstream 390 is currently sitting in my lap being played as I'm watching this video
    Edit: grabbed a screenshot of the serial number reverend write on the back of the headstock, and that's my guitar!!!! Went to my best mates house in Guildford and then to andertons to buy myself something with the money from my first full time job, and it was the first guitar in the shop that caught my eye, I bloody love the thing

      Triple P90 Pseudo-jazzmaster shaped Reverend for your first guitar?? That's cooler than any guitar I've ever had, and I've been playing for 20years!
      You done good, son! 😎👍
      Edit: My closest would be my Pelham Blue Gibson SG Special with a P90 in the neck, and a minihumbucker (Lollar) in the bridge. That's pretty effing cool.

      @@benhort5559 Cheers bro, yes she is my pride and joy. I like to have slightly different guitars than the hordes.
      They don't have to be madly different, or different for difference' sake, but I do like to have some quirks about them to reflect my individuality.
      Or, I could just join the masses and get a sunburst Strat, a butterscotch tele and a cherry burst Les Paul....🤢 Just shoot me!
      [ Me :
      Strat : 1)Lake Placid 2) Shell Pink
      Tele : Piano black /white guard - humbucker in neck

    Guitar tech from Australia, should of checked for push pulls, I've made many 3 humbucker guitars and in order to get all three you need a push pull or on off to turn on your neck or bridge, so in pos 1 (bridge) you get B and N and in pos 2 you get all 3. Takes 2 extra wires going to the volume pot and switch or anoutber way is a wire to your desired pick up and to the common on your 5 way blade switch.
    Also on a Gibson usually its set so middle is Middle hum and neck hum, if you wanna get access to all pick ups you have 3 volumes and one master tone instead of 2.

    There are few GIbson guitars with 3 pickups, normal 3-way switch for rhytm/treble and one knob dedicated to blending middle pickup to whatever setting you have. For that you have to sacrifice one tone knob (but anyway you can't have 3 tones, so going to single master tone with 3 pickups is logical).

      The one they picked though was a Bigsby style Vibrato, reminds me of the Chigsby that you can get direct from China that's a B50/B500-like licensed version of the B5 (made in USA Bigsby) for a solid/flat top. I've got a Chigsby, it's a mod project I haven't fully committed to yet, but it's probably going onto an Epiphone LP Special I w/ dual P90's in worn cherry. Really just waiting for the strings to break or go dead on the guitar before installing it.

  • @OzziePete1
    @OzziePete1 Před 5 lety +1

    22:02 On the Gibson LP Custom 3 pickup guitar the middle pickup is blended with the bridge pickup. There are limitations with the aesthetics of the instrument. They employ a modded toggle switch but to get the middle pickup only requires selecting the middle position of the toggle & turn down the bridge volume knob...Lots of variations depending upon how the player wants it..... These days to employ the all 3 on you'd probably go for a 'blow' switch.Pull the volume or tone knob, bypass the normal switch and volume, tone circuitry & just hook all 3 pickups up in series.....

    Just discovered your channel recently and am really enjoying your videos, as I work through them all. I have an oddball guitar that you may or may not be aware of. British made, my Hayman 2020 is from 1972 (I believe), which was a time when if it wasn’t Gibson or Fender, it didn’t sell too quickly. The build quality is exceptional, with nice Grover tuners and a great feeling neck. Odd clear plexiglass pick guard over a metal plate with 2 not overly powerful pickups. Every time I consider selling it, I pick it up and fall in love with it all over again. I’ve had it since 1975. It also has a very nice original case. Beautiful guitar, but rather odd.. Cheers and keep up the great videos!

Body is foam on an aluminum frame, mahogony neck that is set in and bolted on, brass nut and saddle, stereo and mono outputs, in/out phase switches on the blade style overwound humbuckers. Three way adjustable saddle, with a screw in the back to adjust the tilt!

  • @TheGhostGuitars
    @TheGhostGuitars Před 5 lety +1

    Lol, I collect oddball guitars! A few examples:
    Yamaha SC300T: an uniquely shaped s-type, that's lovingly nicknamed the banana.
    Ibanez Halberd XH300 BKF: a superstrat that's WAY bigger than normal ...and heavy AF, but love the sustain it has due to it's solid mahogany body. Had to get a bass gig bag cuz all other 'normal' bags are too small! And no, not a bass, it's a 26.5" scale length 6 string guitar that I usually drop d.
    Western: a S-Type that has ONE pickup at the neck that's microphonic as hell, metal pickguard, and the deepest transparent chocolate burst I've ever seen. Obviously a vintage, probably an el cheapo from the bygone era.
    Epiphone Les Paul Pee Wee: a teeny tiny 1 pickup LP-Type.
    An unknown vintage 17" scale length 6 string S-Type with HS pup config.
    Electra Futura X2RD: it's red, pointy with lots odd curves and from the 80s. Glam rock baby! (Rather tiny tho, lol)
    These are just a few of the guitars in my collection. :)
    PS: just remembered I picked up a LTD F-10 yesterday. It's the little brother of the XH300, style wise, but it's significantly smaller and lighter. But unlike the XH300's active dual humbuckers, the F-10 sports the passive HS pup config. It's also tiny compared to my other LTD, an AX-50, which is comparable in size to the XH300, more due to it's Warlock styled body sticking way out there, lol.
    PPS: Final note: I'd jump for that Fender Blacktop! That'd be a really cool add to my collection. And yeah, I'd certainly would mod the middle position to run all 3 pups!

    My Epiphone Black Beauty was wired with the neck and middle permanently combined. I customized it by removing the middle pup from the toggle, giving it it's own push/pull. Controls are 3 vol, 1 master tone. Middle pickup volume is the push/pull.

    I like humbuckers over single coils, I like tele style pups over strat style, but there's something about p90s that goes straight past my brain and into my heart. Love!

    Absolutely in love with the P90 tele-style Charvel. It's beautiful and it sounded amazing when Chappers kicked in the fuzz (?) at 8:26.

    "Solid As A Rock" is what kept me from discovering the magic of Ashford & Simpson for decades. I thought they were a one hit wonder, and good Lord was I wrong! The stuff they wrote and produced for others! Glorious!

      I love the irony that G&L dubbed it their Junior, even though it's got dual pickups. But sweet sounds, for sure.

    A desert Island challenge! One guitar, one combo amp, and three pedals! That's all you had the time to save from the wreckage! You'll have plenty of time in your hands for some months or years to wait for rescue, but only that! Choose wisely, and have fun!

      @SQUIRE LOVA No sorry needed. From what I have seen as the norm on social media, I am happy to be socially disabled. I am sorry that my 80s basketball court yo mama comment was weak sauce, at best. You deserved better,

    Gaudi designed the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona fyi

  • @thomassmith7608
    @thomassmith7608 Před 5 lety

    The artist who designed the cathedral ("La Sagrada Familia") in Barcelona is Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926). This delightful cathedral includes jewels encrusted in the walls and in the cathedral spires. Antoni Gaudi rocks, so it is only natural to create a scratch plate that resembles his famous cathedral. :)
