"Condense and then condense again" - this strategy is so useful! It helps to separate the waffle from the bits you personally need, works very effectively for me! Fantastic tips as always Jack, awesome video! 😅

Congrats On the A*!!!

I am such a neat freak and it takes ages to do my notes, going to have to face my fear and try that more 'messy' way of doing it from time to time!
just keep telling yourself that eventually you’ll write it up in neat and that’ll get you through hahaha
Maybe do both like make it a bit messy and neat

during study leave I used to get my mum to take my phone to work with her - a bit harsh maybe but there was no possible temptation to go on it at all during the day and I could really properly appreciate being able to use it in the evenings!
woaaahhhh I applaud you for that 👏🏼
The last tip just reminded me that I'm important. It hit me so hard. Thank you 💙
Mental health ALWAYS comes first - you’ve got this 💪🏼
Excellent tips, as someone who succeeded at A-Levels, I can confirm that these are good tips and i would highly recommend! Also, examiners reports are good to look at. I would also hand your teacher an essay every day, or two days, because they cant say no, as its their job!
Ah that’s so reassuring to hear - thank you! OMG YES I FORGOT ABOUT EXAM REPORTS!!!
You don't know the teachers in my school dude
@@infinity7647 omg Same, but it would be a great tip for teachers that really did this
CZcams won't stop recommending this for some reason. not that I'm complaining really
Super informative stuff. Personally, I achieve in History A-Level with a slightly taxing method. Throughout the year I would copy out all wider reading and textbook stuff the day I learnt it (yes this meant occasionally copying out 4-5 pages of text in one day). These notes would be neat, colorful and in a book. I would read the books sporadically throughout the year slowly getting the information into my head. Now, as its close to exams, I re-read the note heavy books and highlight but crucially annotate each paragraph as I go along with the most key ideas present This makes sure you engage with the notes and get important info learnt. Also, with each topic I would make an analytical summary with the key dates, questions, way of thinking and events/ links between events. This method is tedious but if you keep it up all year everything absorbs so well and you gets loads of extra information as you allow yourself not to just 'mega-condense' which can lead to a loss of some niche information that may give your essay that A* edge.
YESSSS the textbook method is exactly what I did! The really niche facts are definitely the ones that impress examiners. Sounds like you’re going to absolutely smash it 👏🏼
Hey! I am not sure if you will even see this reply (I am 3 years late lmao). If somehow you do can you let me know how you did any wider readings meaning where/how I can find books to expand my knowledge for a level history - I start this september so i am trying to get prepared!
"this isn't some 1080p humble brag"
-That's right, it's a 720p humble brag.

#11: stop smoking weed instead of revising 💀
yooo recognised Yule right away! I thought I was the only one!
I am SO HAPPY I've found this channel because you've done the 2/3 a-levels i have and the same modules so far!!!
I've been feeling so unmotivated lately, but watching videos like yours and other revision youtubers really truly wakes my educational brain area (does that make sense?) up and gets me motivated to get as much as possible done!
FINALLY, someone who gave me some real help. literally, everyone else just keeps saying you're mental health is this and that and blah blah blah. no one has actually given me some ACTUAL tips that are study-related.
I just started my learning for my a levels (I’m in year 12) and found this video really motivating and positive! I’ve been really struggling with motivation and have been getting overwhelmed with work, this makes me think that it is possible to keep up with the mountains of work😂 I’ve also been off of Instagram and snapchat for a few days and honestly it helps so much, could not recommend it more!
I'm a mature student and having watched a few of these videos I have to say this was not only informative, but very responsible including the mental health advice. Sterling work young man. I'm not surprised you did so well in your exams. 👍
BABY JACK
You have no idea how much this helps! i’m getting so distracting and i’m nowhere near ready to do an exam next month!!!
THEY PLAYED THIS AT MY SIXTH FORM COLLEGE JUST NOW.
That just proves your tips are amazing. They surely got me motivated to go and revise for my three A Levels ❤️
This is so helpful. I started my A levels this school year and it was so much harder than I expected and it’s so hard to find a good way to revise and stay focused.
Thank you SO much for making this Jack!! I'm in year 13 and this has really inspired me to sort my self out and get my head down and revise in an efficient and productive manner.
AYYYY that’s all I can ever ask for! Good luck, I’m sure you’ll smash it 💪🏼💪🏼
this gets recommended like everyday
I've had this video on my recommended list for so long. Now I am watching it so it never gets recommended to me again... but cute little baby Jack (who was actually not very little in 2018) is making me watch the whole thing. I just told him that he will get rejected from Oxford and I don't know why I did that
Point 1 so right! Planning you revision is so so important! You will do so much better and spend way less time if you make yourself a game plan! Start with an overall weekly timetable and track your progress within each subject making sure you allow for space repetition
Self Control has saved my life- it's SUCH a great app! Great video as always! x
Honestly the best thing I’ve ever found, I’m literally like a kid who has to have his toys taken away hahahaha
when you’re watching this in 2021 being a fan of your booktube vids and found out you had a study video: le gasp
You give such genuine human energy and i'm here for it!
This is the first of your videos I have watched I can’t believe I have only just found you now! I am about to do my GCSE mock exams and all of these tips are so useful thank you so much we’ll done on your amazing results!
This was so helpful. I’ve been doing intense “topic a day” revision since the start of Easter and I found myself entirely burnt out after five or so days and had to just cut myself off from work. I’m starting again today and starting the day with this to get me in the right mindset 🌦
Ahhh good to hear! DEFINITELY take time out when you need it, and you’ll come back ready to work ten times as hard! You’ve got this 💪🏼
The fact I’m avoiding revising by watching this video is amazing 😂
These tips are so hecking useful. I’m taking my A levels in about two months and now I’m more motivated than ever to do well. That’s it I’m subscribing to him he’s freaking awesome
I can’t believe how much you’ve inspired me!!😭 I just did my GCSE’s and I’m about to do my A levels next year, I’m a bio student, I’m taking up chem, phy and bio and probably English and there are so many things to study and those tips just boosted my confidence and made me wanna start next year with hope to do much much better and definitely, work harder ♥️ it’s so inspiring, seeing you tubers like you! 😭 thanks a lot, I wish you immense success in the future! God bless♥️ and also!!! Congrats on the A*’s😭 it’s hard work!!
This is so useful for GCSE as well, thank you!
Thank you so much for the tips you have shared especially as exams are near. Making essay plans really works and helps me remember the information
Good luck! 😊
Just shared this with my students . I think it is really good to hear from students themselves. You are basically talking about the same things I would advise, but it is coming better from you! Thank you for this! :-)
This is honestly so much more helpful than any other video I’ve watched on this topic- thank you so much
I just found your channel and I'm doing GCSEs right now, but this was honestly the most helpful revision video I've seen. Like...I'm *genuinely* about to get up and revise because of this! Normally I kinda just watch the videos and feel bad at how organised everyone is compared to me, but this motivated me a lot :)

Jack Edwards thank you so much it’s not that I’m not doing well I just feel overwhelmed thank you so much xxx
You are so helpful and have such a likable personality. Thank you for this 💘
Aw thank you so so much! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! As a new year 12 that's aiming for medical school, this is very so. Even though I don't do any of the subjects you do, the thing I struggle the most is how not to procrastinate, I'll try out some of these tips. And may I add this tip that helped me during GCSE's and that's do past papers, they help immensely.
I've been trawling CZcams to find videos useful to my students, it's Biology but a lot of this is still very helpful - well done on your results and thank you for the video!

thank you so much for telling me that time spent planning is not time spent wasting. I've always been so annoyed that i "waste " time on planning but I realize now that some people just do much better with planning. and also...I AM SO HAPPY I AM NOT THE ONLY HUMAN THAT MAKES 15 MINUTE PLANS FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. it always keeps me going. Ticking the boxes are my motivation.
