Love how your beaming Dad with your daughter explaining how much she loves the park.
What a beautiful comment, Robert Thank you!
I have to say the same thing. Its one reason i really enjoy your channel
@@dixie3087 Thanks, Daniel!
Your daughter nailed it! Of all the Parks I've visited, this one IS the most enjoyable: because it's so varied, it could have been divided into three separate Parks (the beaches, temperate rain forest and the Olympic Range). In 1974, I came thru with my Mom and Dad - to say they were amazed would be an understatement! In 1998, I was here again with my wife and daughters. We spent 3 days being amazing at the sheer variety X 3!
FYI: my second favorite is Glacier NP in Montana! Great to see you two enjoying Olympic so much - I can understand why!!!
Good words and good taste! Just shared your sentiments with my daughter!
Seeing Randy’s face while Natalie describes why she loves the park so much, so wholesome! Great video guys. I’m visiting Washington from Scotland in September, can’t wait.
Really appreciate those warm words, Andrew! Hope you have a wonderful trip!
Did you have a good time Andrew
Born and raised here--I live at "the bottom of the hill*"! Tears streaming at the beauty and wonder of this place seen through new eyes. Thank you
*Hurricane Ridge/Mt Angeles Rd
p.s. My son refers to this place as Narnia and calls it "magical", also Very astute of Natalie!
Beautiful words, thank you! We really loved visiting Washington. No place like it in the states!
Hi dear nice to meet you.
I like your channel. Great video as usual. Visited 24 US National Parks so far, Olympic is one of my favorite. Still long travel each time as I live in Germany. So greetings from Germany and all of you stay safe and healthy.
Hey Patrick, welcome and and thanks for the kind words! 24 Parks is impressive... especially coming all the way from Germany! All the best to you and your family!
I love the diversity of this park and it’s one of my absolute favorite parks. My favorite part of the park is Hurricane Ridge.
Good taste, my friend! Diversity is definitely the right word for Olympic!
I wish I had a Dad like this! ❤
Thanks for the kind words. Actually didn't have much of a great earthly father either. Kind of found myself determined to learn from his mistakes. All the best to you!
Randy, your videos are such a ministry. The way you model shared family experiences is a blessing to many. Thank you!
Hearing that really blesses my heart, brother! All the best to you!
I'm from WA state and there is no place like home! Gorgeous
So true! Your beautiful home state unlike any in our great nation!
It can be chilly even in the middle of August.
Yes, we experienced some strange and unpredictable weather up there!
Your videos like this one are gonna help people researching their NP trips for _decades!_ Thank you America's Parks!
That's really encouraging stuff to read! Thank you, my friend!
Randy, I just booked these exact four stops on my Washington state National Park trip for next summer. Thanks for the video assistance yet again my man!
Happy to hear that and hope you have a fantastic trip! Washington is an incredibly beautiful state!
Your kids all seem so great, you guys definitely did some good parenting
Nothing more special than reading a comment like that! Shared it with my wife. Thank you!
@@AmericasParks More then welcome! As someone that teaches kids I can tell, trust me. I also took your advice in the Delaware water gap video and had a great time.
So Glad You are Getting to Spend Quality Time with your Grown Daughter. Next Week I plan me Vacation with My Grown Son who moved to Seattle Recently. We plan to See the Sights and Sounds like You Two Did. Any Time with Family is Time Well Spent.
That was a great comment! I sure do cherish these those were were able to enjoy together. Hope the same for you and your son on your upcoming trip!
Looks amazing, love how you both embraced the rain. Way to stay positive :)
Appreciate the encouragement! Have a super week!
Vlogging at its best. Seriously. The rain forest and beach shots are spectacular, even despite the poor weather. I love the interplay of her enthusiasm for the place and your pushing back on that enthusiasm. I've also always loved how in so many of your videos you balance music and dialogue; as well as how you can clearly record an experience without letting that recording lessen your enjoyment of the experience.
This video in particular deserves way more than 27K views in 9 months.
Those words blessed my heart, Normie! Beautifully stated!
nothin poor about that weather, that rain is what makes the park what it is
Absolutely gorgeous is so true!!!... I visited in the month of August and loved the beautiful hikes!!! 👏☺️
Happy to hear you have enjoyed this gem!
Natalie said it all in 2 words…”so pretty”! Thanks for sharing.
Right on, James!
Just got back last weekend from our longest family trip to date. We spent 3.5 weeks exploring Washington. That is some state, just incredibly beautiful. It was hard to believe it was real. Started in Seattle, then up to the San Juan Islands (highly recommended), over to the Olympic Peninsula, down to Mt. St. Helens and the surrounding National Forest, quick stop in the Columbia River Gorge, and then finished in Mt. Rainer.
We went to all the stops you made in Olympic NP except our weather was quite the opposite. Bluebird skies the entire trip and not a drop of rain the entire time. We all loved Olympic and share your daughter’s opinion of the park. It is definitely up there on my list of top parks visited. Diverse is the word always used to describe Olympic and it rings true. From the wild coastlines to rain forest to the imposing jagged peaks of the mountains, this park was a joy to explore and am so grateful that I got to experience it.
So many great stops and experiences. My top highlights were hiking Mt. Storm King (amazing views of Lake Crescent), tidepooling at Rialto Beach/Hole-in-the-Wall and Ruby Beach (so many starfish and anemones), Hurricane Hill, Hoh Rain Forest, and some waterfalls on east side in the National Forest (Murhut Falls and Rocky Brook Falls). We were pretty fortunate Hurricane Ridge re-opened because the visitor center burned down like 2 months prior. Also went to Cape Flattery which is the most northwestern point in the contiguous US and a very beautiful stop as well. So much more but those were my top 5, well I think that was actually 6. Also had some unfortunate luck with some National Forest roads. Made it unscathed but ended being a looooong end to the day. I could on and on but I should stop here as I am becoming long-winded.
What a great comment describing an amazing trip! Made some notes regarding your highlights if I ever get back!
@@AmericasParksvery blessed to have been able to take this trip and share these experiences with my family.
I hope you get the chance to go back if this a place you want to return to again.
The joy and enthusiasm you both have translates well thru this incredible content. What a great memory for you and your daughter to share with us.
Thanks! That was a special day I'll always cherish! Merry Christmas!
Great to see you were able to fight hard enough to have those moments. It is a beautiful place.
Thanks for the beautiful words!
You guys are truly blessed, as are we🌞
Always appreciate the reminder, Mark! Glad you are rejoicing!
Nice to see a father and daughter exploring the great outdoors.
Much appreciated, Gary!
my daughter just started working there TODAY.....SHE IS SOOOOO EXCITED
Dream job! Hope she has a great experience!
This is awesome - reminds me of hiking with my dad in the Appalachian mountains. Good info on park too thanks!
Happy to hear of the time you and your father have shared together. Did several trips with my three daughters - so thankful for the memories we've created together!
I have lived in Port Angeles for the last 11 years. I love going to Hurricane Ridge, have been up there numerous times. Unfortunately, about a year ago or so the visitor center up top burnt to the ground.
I've just watched 3 of your videos and I enjoyed them very much. you have a great time with your daughters and are making great memories.
Really appreciate your kind words!
@AmericasParks you are welcome, keep on hiking
Such a beautiful place, glad you both had fun, thanks for sharing. 🙏
Appreciate your kind words!
AMAZING!
This video made me feel very happy. Thank you.
Enjoyed reading that!
Love the video Randy! The black sand look so cool, especially with the river & the fog on the mountains. Thanks for sharing & have a blessed day!
Thanks, Tim! Have a blessed week!
Love the bond between both of you 💕
Thanks for the warm words! Have a great week!
Excellent job creating memories with your daughter, thanks for all your videos...M.Renier!!!!
Much appreciated, Ed! Glad you "see" that - these memories with my family are what drives me on to make the videos! Take care!
What a beautiful place! I can understand why Natalie says it's her favorite park. You captured it perfectly in this video.
Thank you for taking us along.
Appreciate that, Debra! What a beautiful park and memorable day!
Wow you have done it again! This brings back so many wonderful memories. The day we planned to drive to Hurricane Ridge it was very foggy, but at the visitor center they told us it was clear on top so off we went--kind of scary on a mountain road with extremely limited visibility. The fog enveloped us, but suddenly within only a few yards of the top we drove out of it to a stunning view. I have used that story as a sermon illustration (sometimes we just need to trust God and keep going)! We love the hikes to Sol Duc Falls and in Hoh and then Ruby Beach. Like Natalie the diversity and colors touch us. I so look forward to returning one day, so thanks for "taking" me/us back there.
Great to read that, Jonathan! Super sermon illustration too! Those personal/natural ones are always the best!
Absolutely stunning! Thanks for putting so much broll in. Also great edit!
Very kind of you, Daniel! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video!
I'm fairly sure that Washington is what dreams are made of...at least visually for me :) The pools are different - but hey if that guys doing that well at 83, why not?! lol Im sure it was hard with all the rain, but its just stunning, all of it...narnia. Listening to her speak- you have truly instilled a love for nature within her. Best part of all of it.
Appreciate the heartfelt words! All the best to you and your wonderful family!
Great job capturing the beauty of this park despite the less than stellar conditions. An even better job showcasing that positive spirit and just enjoying the moment and being out in nature. It can be so trying when things just don’t go your way but you always set such a great example on how to handle it.
This park really reminds me of the area around Juneau. The forest, Tongass NF I believe, is also a temperate rainforest. Really a beautiful experience walking in these type of forests. Also, I can’t believe you have had so much luck with air mattresses. We have gone through like 4 or 5 before finally quitting them. One time, we bought a fairly expensive one thinking that might solve our issues. It deflated on the first night. Never again! We switched to Thermarest pads and they have been great.
Thanks for the kind words, Michael!
Everything in the park is so so so awesome and so much pretty cool and awesome trails and so much pretty!♥️
Thanks, Michael!
What a great time. Thanks for sharing your fun😊
Appreciate your kindness to this channel!
Wow🎏
What a beautiful park!🌞🌈
Another gem. Hope you'll be a be to visit one day!
I really enjoyed this. You guys would make for great travel buddies. Thanks for bringing us along with you.
Really appreciate the kind words! My daughter will be encouraged!
Wow that place is absolutely gorgeous! Love how moody Everything looks and feels. And Ruby beach was beautiful! Thanks for sharing 👍
Such a unique place... IMHO most diverse National Park. Have a great week!
Taking my wife and 5 year old boy up there in July. Thanks for the video!
Hope you have a fantastic trip! Appreciate the encouraging words!
Gotta love the "liquid sunshine!"
Great way to put it! Need to remember that one!
Stunning, taking my 16yo son this July!
Have a super time! Nice to hear of the investment you are building into your son. Memories you'll always cherish!
Great video, as always! I was just in these same spots the first week of July and it's amazing the difference in weather in just a few weeks. Bright and sunny everyday, and fortunately no rain during our entire trip. The only snow at Hurricane Ridge was on the peaks. The Hoh Rainforest was dry. Altho your Ruby Beach day was a bit sunnier than ours (for a little bit at least haha).
Spent a couple days at Mount Rainier in the Paradise entrance and there was still a ton of snow there, but we had blue, sunny skies.
PNW really is such a great part of our country.
PNW sure is a great part of our country! We sure did run into some unfavorable weather, but still had a great time. Thankful you had a memorable one as well! Thanks for the kind words!
What a great video - so happy that you and Natalie had a great time
Thanks you very much! Really a memorable day!
What a great video to watch on a hot hot hot & humid day here in Pa! I enjoyed Natalie's comments on the "best" national park. Olympic was one of my first NPs out west on roadtrip from New Brunswick NJ (Rutgers Univ.) to Seattle area with stops at the Badlands & Mt Ranier along the way. This was in the late 1970's but I still remember my first view of the Pacific Ocean at Ruby Beach! By the way, check out the most recent offering by one of your fellow vloggers, Tristan & SUV RVing. He also did a nice video on the same area just a couple of days ago. Once again, Kudos to your photography and your daughter's comments.
Nice to hear the video brought back some fond memories, Bob! What a road trip!!! It sure is an amazing place!
Nature's Always Amazing! 🌟
Keep Doing IT!! 💕
Thanks for joining us, Wendy! Such a beautiful place!
We were there two weeks ago. It’s absolutely beautiful! I liked the amazing scenic beauty of the park - Hurricane ridge and Ruby beach are my favorite. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you and happy to know you had a nice trip there!
Thank you Randy and Natalie, Olympic National Park looks spectacular. I would love to visit and hike there on a sunny day. I'm not fond of the snow nor rain, that's why I live in Arizona. Your videos are always, so professional looking and I thank you for all the time and effort you spend in creating them for us... God Bless you Both !! ... Robin :-)
You always leave such encouraging words, Robin! This is really a special place of creation. Diversity like nowhere else. God bless you, brother!
Beautiful place to visit. Thank you
Right on! Appreciate the comment!
I'm in LOVE with this channel. Wow! Love from Montreal and Boston.
Really appreciate that, Alexander! All the best to you!
Thanks for the inspiration. Recently visited ONP, it was beautiful but we missed to see a couple of spots there. Gave me even more reasons to come back soon.
Wonderful to hear! Glad you had a nice time out there!
Fantastic video! In fact, this might be my favorite AP video yet. This definitely makes me want to visit Olympic NP (and those amazing hot springs)! As Natalie said, with each trip, it's like you guys are stepping into "Narnia." Very cool!
Hey, that's really great to hear, Chris! Respect your feedback!
I work at Olympic this summer and I was hoping to run into you if you came! But I’m glad you enjoyed your visit!! Beautiful video
Hey Hope, would have enjoyed meeting you! You work at such an incredible National Park. Enjoy your summer!
It was fun to watch your video. Now i am really happy to travel soon there.
Thanks, Stephanie! Olympic is great... have a super trip!
I must say the father daughter relationship you both have us as beautiful as the National Park you share. She is a sweet wonderful young woman and you of course a very proud Dad.
Thanks for sharing. Peace
That was very touching, my friend! Glad you "see" that in the video. Definitely what's most important to me. All the best!
Really love your videos. You guys do a great job!
Really encouraged to read that, Mark! Thanks so much!
Ola Randy and Natalie..finally the sun came out, I figured it couldn't stay away to whole time you guys were there...even thou the sun wasn't always shining, your positive attitudes were..Great video, and as always, thanks for sharing...☀️☀️☀️
Appreciate that, Glenn! Hope you have a great week, brother!
We were at the Hoh Rainforest River Trail a week after your visit, dodging mud puddles along the way. No rain our visit. Love it!
So cool... would have been nice to see you on the trails. Sorry for all the rain that was left behind from our visit! lol! Glad you had a nice time!
So beautiful ❤️ thanks for sharing 👍
Much appreciated!
I will be taking my son there next spring. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks and have a great trip!
Great video, thank you!
Really thankful you enjoyed the video!
I love this park. It was my first National park and I’ve been a few times.
I went to 8:00 in the winter and felt totally isolated from the world. It’s such a beautiful area.
Right on! Olympic is among the most diverse NP's. Glad to hear you've been out there!
We're heading there next weekend!!!! Great great video guys!!!!
Thanks! Have a great trip!
Randy and Natalie, we love Olympic! “Like stepping into Narnia!” Have been visiting since the 1960s (and we tent camped in the rain at Sol Duc back then too (rained solid for a week). Glad the mountains were out at Hurricane Ridge for you. So happy for Natalie that she loves our secret National Park. Outstanding Father/Daughter trip. We enjoy Quinault Lodge, beach at Kalaloch, and Crescent Lake. So much more yet for you to explore on your next trip. Ruby Beach is a favorite, parking lot fills fast. THANK YOU FOR TAKING ME ON THE BEACH TODAY!
How much has it changed since you first started coming? Me and a friend have recently (the last two years or so) started exploring it.
Nice to stroll down memory lane with you, Mike! Really tough to find a more diverse NP. Always a pleasure to have you along!
@@3091181 Well, the roads are better now, and with the casino money shared among all Washington native tribes, there has been an astonishing improvement of appearances in Neah Bay (on Makah Indian Reservation - northwestern edge of the park, you go there to see Cape Flattery - currently closed) , including a wonderful museum there full of artifacts from Cape Alava (remote beach you have to hike to from Lake Ozette Lake in the National Park where in 1970s we watched university students excavate the Ozette Indian Village Archeological Site circa 1750). most of the sites are the same, except rebuilt Sul Duc Hot Springs, and a much smaller visitor center now at Hoh Rain Forest. Other than that, for the most part: the lakes, forest, rivers, and beaches seem to me the same as what they were in the 1960s. In some cases like at Lake Quinault Lodge, and Lake Crescent, time has stood still. Visitor Center near Port Angeles on the road up to Hurricane Ridge is new since I was a boy.
Thanks for your vedio.
Awesome video! First time at ONP this summer and can’t wait to go back already🩵
Glad you had a nice time enjoying this amazing gem in the NW! Have a blessed week!
Beautiful
It sure was, Darlene! Thanks for joining us!
I'm very late to this party but I appreciate that you guys got to do this. Locally, it feels like a very traditionally PNW (Pacific Northwest) day- grey and wet. And most of us quite like it. Secretly, our Summers are very pretty w/o a lot of the pesky heat (wear sunscreen still!). Hope you guys get to come back.
Appreciate the kind words, insights and warm hospitality!
Love your video. Love you guys too. Awesome trip :))
Really appreciate your heartfelt words! Thanks and enjoy your week!
A stunning park! Yes, camping is great, but the rainy days can be a challenge. Japan is known for their hot springs, so this place reminds me of that. The beach was beautiful. Too bad the sun didn’t stay long!
Hey Josh, we hit some serious precipitation that week. Still had a great time. Thanks!
Great to spend special time with your daughter and a it looked a real fun trip. June and snow - wow, looked great mind and loved the mountain tops, amazing views! Now on a cold day, the hot springs looked just the ticket and shame the rain had to come and hit your walk on the Hoh River Trail, made it look real green though. The sun was a blessing on the beach and a gorgeous sight indeed but maybe you spoke too soon, that rain was very determined! Cheers Alan
Great words, Alan! Thank you and hope you have a fantastic week!
Lovely video as usual! This park is definitely on my bucket list 😍
Thanks so much, Rebecca!
Hello 👋
That was a whirlwind tour! Your hit some great places, thanks for sharing. I went to several places you went to back in the mid 80's and it is still beautiful now. When you go back I would recommend the High Divide Trail up to Seven Lakes Basin, and the trail head is just up the road from Sol Duc Hot Springs, where we soaked off the hike to the High Divide.
Thanks, Mick! We were too rushed, but did thankfully get some other great sites in as well in beautiful WA. Appreciate the tip... made a note!
Going to Washington State at the end of July. Very excited!
Should be a nice time to visit. Still plan to get 5 more NP videos up. Hope you have a super trip, Mario!
You sound EXACTLY like Norm MacDonald. It’s scary.
Great video!
Had to look that one up... hear the resemblance! It's cross b/t a Chicago and NJ accent. lol! Glad you enjoyed the video!
The fog mixed into the mountains is called “clouds rest”. I am headed up in June this year. Driving from Cali. Can’t wait! Great video.
Really looking forward to hitting Clouds Rest one of these days. Thanks for the kind words and have a great hike!
Sorry... responded too fast! Just uploaded my Yosemite video yesterday where there is a hike there called "Clouds Rest." Just realized you watched the Olympic video. lol! Have a nice trip!
This video is super entertaining and wholesome. Great content
Really appreciate your kind words!
So beautiful 🥰 it's dream place 😍
Marvelous blog with lot of information. Simply super.
Thanks so much! Really encouraged by your kind words!
That really looks like so so so so much pretty!
Right on, Michael!
Great video!
Much appreciated, Brandon!
I like those pretty so so so nice water falls in the Olympic national Park so nice and pretty hot tubs and pretty cool ocean and cute little animals 😊
Good taste, my friend!
Mt Storm King is amazing too
Just looked it up. Added it to the bucket list if I get back. Thanks for the tip!
Great video, thanks! AGREE w/Natalie, Olympic has got to be in the "Top 3 of Best National Parks".
Hey Jeff!!! Great to hear from you! Cool to hear you've experienced this gem!
I live right next to the Olympic National Park and hike and camp there as much as I can. If you ever come back I suggest you check out Ozette, Quinault Rainforest, and Deer Park.
Hey Ian, that is such an incredible section of our country! Really unlike anywhere else and so diverse. Thanks for the tip and hospitality. Made a note! Hope to get back and get another shot at Mt. St. Helens (recent upload).
Rain forests are just magical. Love Natalie’s description of it and that she doesn’t mind getting wet. Sounds like me! I really enjoy seeing the parks from different eyes - you have 5 different travel buddies! Not sure if we will have much time in WA yet - still no plans 🤣
Hi Heather, such a nice comment! Blessed with all these buddies... although getting harder to take the daughters b/c of their schedules. Hope WA works for you!
Hello dear nice to meet you.
If you ever go back there, I HIGHLY recommend going up to Neah Bay. There's a super easy short hike that takes you to a beautiful look out over the sea caves. Deception Pass in Anacortes is my favorite place in the state of Washington, but the overlook in Neah Bay is a very close second. 😊
Thanks Angela! Made a note as I sure hope to get back!
New to your channel! We were just in Olympic and without seeing your video first we hit all of your 4 essential stops! We didn't see as much snow as you but had an amazing time!
It's so wonderful to hear you had a great time at Olympic! Welcome to the channel! :)
Randy!!! These videos are great!! I have wanted to go to Washington state for a long time, but after your videos, I want to go right now!! Lol. Beautiful videography as always, mu friend. Hope you and your family are safe, healthy, and well.
Thanks so much, Sara! The landscape is unlike anywhere else in the US. So majestic!
Ruby beach is a perfect place for photography.
Right on! So picturesque!
That’s awesome I was actually just there I am working on some videos for it. It is just an amazing place. Awesome video!!
Great to hear! Glad to hear you we able to visit this incredible place! All the best!
Wow, TWILIGHT ❤️❤️😅
Thanks for joining is, Roan!
Welcome to my part of the world. Love the tour and cameras work. Rain? What is a rainforest without rain? Olympic National Park is a treasure that is not overrun by curio shops. Yet. Thanks for taking us there.
Absolutely loved our time in Washington!
Olympic NP is so unique and diverse, rain forests, mountains, ocean, there’s nothing like it! You have to check out the Tree of Life on Ruby Beach. Also I did a whale watching tour out of Port Angeles and it was such a cool experience, highly recommend! We saw dozens orcas and humpback whales.
That was so well said, Aliesha! Thanks for the tips... made a note for (I hope) a future visit! Take care!
Another awesome vid! I made the decision to move from ct to just outside of glacier park next month! Gotta love America's parks! I actually live half a mile from weir farm which you visited!
What an incredible move, Rusty! We live in NJ... beautiful on the shore, but nothing like the West. All the best to you!
@@AmericasParks Im going to spend a few days in wildwood before I go!! Looking forward to your next video! Safe travels!
Watching while cuddled with my 7 year old daughter Kaylee who was giggling that you guys were there 6 days after we were there
I have to tell you, I always like to read your comments to Randy.....from a fellow NP fan.
@@bobross9623 Thanks Bob :)
Well-said, Bob!
Here on the Peninsula, the rainy season is heavy from the end of March to the middle of June. It does not rain more than once all of July, August, and well into September. The short rains begin again in mid October. or November. Hurricane Ridge is only open in warmer months, the road is packed with more than 10 feet of snow after October.
Appreciate you sharing all those helpful insights! Such a wonderful area!
Great episode guys!! Hoping to get out there one day!! Sounds like July or August so it would be a bit warmer for us lol!!
Hey brother, thanks and welcome home! Enjoyed your pics I saw on FB. Need to check out your new video.
