    I'm a big Cle de Peau fan & have been wearing their foundations exclusively for over 10 yrs. I agree with your review completely on The Foundation! If I want more coverage I use CdP's Radiant Cream foundation. All of the CdP foundations I have tried take about 30 minutes after application to 'morph' to their perfect finish. I apply them with just my clean fingers- to me not having to fuss with brushes or sponges is worth the extra $ & the finish & wear is just above & beyond any other brand I've tried. I love CdP's mascara, cream blushes, powder blushes, highlighters, and setting powder. I don't think most Americans would like CdP's eyeshadows as they are the Japanese slurry type that apply as a sheer wash of color rather than the heavily 'pigmented' sorts that are popular in the US.

      Bibi Maizoon Me too, I love the Radiant Cream Foundation with fingers to really work it in. Then I pat with a sponge to finish it off. I’m happy to hear someone else feels similar to me. I love that foundation and wore it to a wedding recently. It was glowing and made for a great makeup day! 🙋🏻‍♀️🌷

Yet, your taste in jewelry is impeccable. Would you ever be open to doing an accessories video discussing your favorite pieces and their back story? Thank you for making videos!

    I have used all of the Cle de Peau foundations and their skin care as well. All of their foundations supply a flawless finish. I have dry, 66 year old skin. My favorite Cle de Peau foundation by far, is the Radiant Fluid Foundation. Thanks!

    @MyCrownstar Před 6 lety +18

    This looks stunning on you. You know what is so very sad is that as a WOC I can only try one of the 5 foundations (Sunday Riley) that you mentioned this week because the brands don't make deep/dark shades, think NW45. Michelle, this is by NO MEANS meant as any disrespect to you or the products you've chosen. I enjoy luxury products and if they were offered in my skin tone, I would have chosen them too. I truy enjoy your videos. I still watched the videos and enjoyed learning about them...hopefully one day companies will be inclusive by making shades for everyone from the very very very light to the very very very dark. Even if they didn't happen to make a shade that matched me , least know that they offered the range would be a gigantic start. Even having the ability to mix shades, but alas, you can't mix light and medium and get deep. It just gets frustrating to see things and can't try them. Have a great weekend and thanks for the great series!

    • @alisastanfield6362
      @alisastanfield6362 Před 6 lety +1

      MyCrownstar, that must be terribly frustrating ! And it is extremely short -sighted of these companies not to offer shades to cover the whole spectrum of skin colors. Really appreciate how respectful you are in stating this point.

    Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions. I have a tiny travel size of La Creme (night cream) and it sounds like the foundation is similar to La Creme but with pigment and color. I have almost purchased this foundation, but the price tells me to hold off. 💸 I’m loving the Radiant Cream Foundation and have it in two colors bc it’s my current go to. I also enjoy the tinted moisturizer which is ultra thick and creamy. Once you start trying their skin care, yikes it gets expensive. I also love their oil which smells very rosy and it has many uses. But La Creme night cream is a special treat, it’s got retinol and lots of good stuff! Ps- This foundation has you looking like a BOSS!

I’m ready to invest in La Mer but I’m not sure if I should get the original or the Soft Cream. I have normal to dry skin- pretty well hydrated from my current skincare. Wow Michele! You really look stunning with this one. I was surprised that you said this would be your every day grab - only because of the $. do you have a feel for how long a single jar would last? I am also a sensitive skin gal - but my skin issues center around Rosacea. Do you know if this foundation makes any claims toward Rosacea improvement? I still don't have a clue on whether or not my skin is dry or normal or combo. I don't think I am overall oily but the T zone usually gets some extra care.

    Did not guess Cle de Peau yday! But you couldn't have picked a better option for a review. I'm using the Cle de Peau "Radiant Fluid Foundation" -- less creamy, more fluid, sets faster and radiant (light coverage, lighter than the La Mer)... You may also like the Radiant Fluid for an economical option. I also have dry skin, and after your review, I'm saving up for The Foundation! Thank you for your review!!

    Hi Michele! I have the exact same feelings as you do, I do like the foundation very much and its a holy grail for day skins. I'm in my early 20's and I know its probably too nourishing for a young skin like mine, but I just can't resist the packaging and the cle de peau products in general. I do have dry skin like you do, and have some acne scars along my jawlines, I found that with the foundation itself it covers 80%, I leave it like that on some good skin days, but normally I go in with my cle de peau concealer to cover them up. BTW, have you noticed the smell of the foundation changed overtime? I had mine for about half a year now, and I haven't used it during the past months, I recently discovered the scent of the fragrance seemed changed a bit as comparing it was brand new. Have you noticed any of that? I hope it still remains fresh in that glamorous jar!!

      Thank you so much! What a shame it's not available in Scotland, and I just saw in a previous comment that it's not available in Ireland either. I'm surprised! Hopefully they'll expand their market soon.

    Ty for foundation week. U answered a lot of my questions. U look stunning as opposed to "your makeup looks good." I wanna try this but the jar irks me (paperweight made me lol). I wonder how long the shelf life is? Plus difficult to travel with, but it looks so amazing on you! Ahh, decisions! lol

      Very difficult to travel with. If I needed to bring it with me, I'd probably scoop some out and put into a little plastic jar. Thanks so much for watching!

    Loved foundation week! Thank you! This sounds perfect for my aging dehydrated skin. But 250.00?? Yikes! I do have the La Mer, I think that's the most I've spent on a foundation. I forgot I do have the cream Cle de Peau in the tube...used to love it but I feel it's a bit "heavy" now

      Ah I'm glad you asked that - I'm wondering the same thing as Cle De Peau isn't available in the UK and think Sublimate would be the most similar :-) x

  • @terrance7220
    @terrance7220 Před 6 lety

    So I just start working for Cle de Peau and have tried pretty much everything. This foundation does not sit well on my oily skin as you expected, but I'm experimenting mixing it with my other go-to matte full coverage foundations. I think you would also enjoy the fluid foundation, I've tried it on several people who has dry skin and want sheer coverage and it looked really beautiful.
    Among other stuff I also really like the pressed powder (the "lx" version is the same thing in better packaing), but I use it as a matte highlighter because it has an obvious white tone. The liquid liner is very easy to use and budge-proof. The cream blushes are blendable and feel luxurious. Their lip sticks and eye shadows are all pretty meh to me though lol.
    As for skincare, I don't think they(or anybody) makes better creams than La Mer. The best buy from the line is probably the Synactif lotion,which has all the interesting exclusive ingredient in the $1000 cream at similar dosage but is much more resonably priced.

      Thank you so much for this! I just ran out of my La Mer and was tempted to try another brand, but decided to stick with La Mer. It has been so great for my skin, and I don't know why I would stray! I'll have to try the fluid foundation. And would you say the pressed powder has the same color tone as the loose powder? I think you had mentioned it was too pinky/lilac on your skin? Thanks Terrance! xoxo

    Love all your videos!! Please try La Prairie Caviar Foundation, it does not disappoint. More coverage than CDP but no need to powder, gives a gorgeous finish. I too tried The Foundation and I looked like I was sweating. I found adding powder to my already dry complexion negated the luminous finish. Fingers crossed you will do a video for LP foundation!!

    • @TheMicheleWang
      @TheMicheleWang  Před 6 lety

      I definitely want to try the LP Foundation. I've been told the coverage can feel quite thick though, so I've been hesitant. You like how it feels?

    • @joel6988
      @joel6988 Před 6 lety

      Hi Michele, thanks of the response! I don't find it thick at all. I'm like you, I can't wait to wash my face at the end of the day if the foundation is too heavy. LP is not like that on my skin. It is thick in the sense that a little goes a long way but not thick on the skin.
      At 60 plus years of age I have tried them all and I love LP. I also use their anti aging foundation for days that I want a lighter coverage. Although the anti aging doesn't have a great colour range. Get a sample of the Caviar and take it for a test drive, I would love to her your thoughts! PS, no primer necessary!

    I've tried all the CDP foundations except this one--I did not like any of the other ones, so didn't bother with the most expensive $250. My favorite right now is Chanel sublimage foundation. After that is Armani crema nuda. I wonder if this CDP $250 is similar to these two? Chantecaille future skin is also pretty good. La Prairie was the _only_ high-end foundation that settled into my smile lines--so disappointing. Other ones I've tried that work and are ok: La Mer, Tom Ford traceless, Koh Gen Do, Armani luminous, Givenchy couture blurring balm.

      Linnea Westgaard Thank you for the information on the Luxury Foundations. It sounds like you are not really into all of the different $50(ish) foundations sold at Sephora. The Hourglass Vanish stick foundation seems to have a Huge following on youtube.

    • @linneasimchah1621
      @linneasimchah1621 Před 6 lety +1

      patr70 I've tried a few of the Sephora ones incl the Hourglass vanish stick which was too thick for my liking. During the Minnesota winter (i.e. dry), it emphasized dry patches way too much. Most foundations work during summer though when the less harsh atmosphere/ambience results in my skin changing to normal combo. I've tried Nars sheer glow, mufe hd, Dior airflash, but I do genuinely find the more expensive foundations to be less high-maintenance both during application and throughout wear-time.

    Are you still using this? I have dehydrated skin, which loves moisture-As well some texture on my cheek (hallow) area...so products can accentuate this-I got a sample of this and it is nice-Is there any other foundation you've used that is even more hydrating? I have a ton, have been using Westman Atelier but since I tried this one I haven't reached for the sticks-Thanks for any suggestions!

    • @WindyCityGatorGirl
      @WindyCityGatorGirl Před 5 lety +1

      Actually Michele I decided not to buy it, after a full day wearing it I noticed my face got lighter and lighter-After doing some highly analytical swatches on my arms I realized their is a very fine powder type substance in the foundation to give the "glow" and I think as the actual tint wears off or is absorbed by foundation the highlighted particles remain- I actually went to the Chantecaille counter last night and got samples of their foundation for it's similar to Cle de Peau...I am so glad I did not pay $250!!!! I also just ordered Valmont's Prime Regenera II so I will have the needed moisture as well, so I answered my own question ;)

    hi Michele, thanks for this video, the foundation looks great on you, I'm interested, but $250.00?! I don't know, I thought $51.00 for the Givenchy photo perfexion was way too much, and maybe it is because the stuff goes on great, but breaks up around my nose around the 4-5 hour mark.

    How does this compare to La Prairie SWISS ICE CRYSTAL TRANSFORMING CREAM ?

    • @TheMicheleWang
      @TheMicheleWang  Před 6 lety

      The LP is less radiant on the skin. I don't feel like I have to powder to set the LP where I have to with the CDP. The La Prairie feels very nice and creamy on the skin and I would say it has a touch more coverage than the CDP. I also feel like you can see the SPF a little bit in the LP. Not where it's a ghostly white cast or anything that bad, but it's completely invisible in the CDP.
