- Today I'm trying out some Lightwish Oil Pastels. For a budget priced brand I was pleasantly surprised. The sticks are creamy but firm and the colors are gorgeous! They have three different color sets and today I’m working with the Morandi set which, as you can see, is a little more muted than my regular color palette. Cant wait to try the more vibrant set next but this one was perfect for this beautiful bunch of wildflowers my girls surprised me with on Mothers Day!

I love floral fiesta! New free art supplies are and always will be very welcome! :) I've used Caran D'ache oil pastels before to paint Hibiscus and Anemones, but they have been abandoned for a while now. I may reach for them today. Love the shape and colors of those sticks. Your painting reminds me of the ancient florals by the louvre metres. Thank you for sharing, Tracy.

Thank you for this video. A couple of years ago I spent a year exploring oil pastels. While I did achieve some nice finished pieces overall I felt the set did not have a good range of mid tones I expected of them. The set did not have very nice greens either. I only pull them out for mark making now.
A whole year to explore oil pastels! That’s wonderful. I feel like I’ve just begun. I can’t wait to receive the other two sets from Light wish so I have the whole range of colours ❤️
Really fun to watch this evolve. I'm keen to give it a go. Do you need to seal this piece or do the pastels eventually dry.
I seal it with a fixative if it’s going to be sitting around for a while. If it’s being framed soon then no need xx
