Just moved to Vienna. Never ever would I have thought that they have such a scene. Crazy support on both sides. Coming from Germany you think that must be in Greece or something haha

Seriously this is like one of the most perfect football-vlogs I have ever seen. Great to get all of these insights before the game, like the museum, the surrounding of the stadium and stuff. You get a great feeling for the club and for the atmosphere. Would love to see more vlogs from Austria! Maybe for example for the "Grazer Derby" in 2 weeks or for a game between Sturm Graz and Rapid wien.

Cheers mate for a great video. Me and two of my friends actually attended this match. We have bought tickets for that home ultras fans sector. It was absolutely mental. What an atmosphere. But I wouldn't recommend to buy those tickets to people, who are not from Vienna. Crazy stuff.

On Oktober 19th is the graz derby for the first time in 15 years, maybe you can go there aswell
i have been twice at this stadium before on a European awayday with Genk. Those are among the best fan experiences i had in my life. We sang our hearts out with 300-400 away fans, but the amount of noise that came from the home crowd was massive. I respect Rapid Wien fans a lot and i have a weak spot for them since my first trip there! I really hope we meet again in the future because it is the best away day i know!

I was there Sunday night Ellis. Totally agree about the fans who were awesome throughout the game. The quality of football isn't great, but still enjoyed the overall match experience.

If you want to see another austrian football experience you gotta see SK Sturm Graz! Visit a good match, then the stadium is burning, for a smaller city (around 300k) the atmosphere is crazy! :D

The player who scored at the derby, Muharem Huskovic, had a car accident yesterday. Thankfully, he did not die, however he is seriously injured.
Great video. There are some up and coming rivalries in the Irish league. I think shamrock rovers and bohemians . They wouldn't be too expensive either and you can get there cheap as its in Dublin.

Considering how peak quality in aspects of preserving tradition as well as having modern features like VIP area our stadium is, how big the atmosphere is, how much passion the Ultras show, it really hurts to see what garbage we as Rapid Wien produce on pitch atm...

27th November is the Nicosia derby between Apoel Nicosia and Omonia Nicosia would be an interesting game to come to! Also shirt shopping in Cyprus is really tough so you’d have a hard time think it would be a good time

Fun Fact:
Since the Rapid Home-Stadium was new built in 2016 Rapid couldn´t win a single game in their home stadium against Austria Vienna..that is now for 7 seasons where Rapid either played a draw or they lost at their Home Derby games...and that remarkable Derby serie continued yesterday.
The common told joke is already that the Rapid Stadium is actually Austria Vienna´s second home stadium ;-D
And according to your comment after the 2:0 lead for Austria Vienna after 16 minutes you said "That never happened"
By the way in the season 2010/11 Austria Vienna had the lead of 3:0 within the first 20 minutes and in consequence all the Rapid supporters from the sector behind the goal - all of them - stormed the pitch in total rage which has been lead to a total break off of the game. That was the shortest Vienna Derby ever already finished after 25 minutes.

@@awaydaysfootball You're Welcome! I have just one recommendation for you. If you want to try good austrian Beer there are hundreds of brewerys to choose from. My favourite one is Gösser. But don't drink Ottakringer. Except for the viennese everyone in austria will tell you it tastes like piss.

I was on vacation in vienna a phew months ago and visited a match of them and was sitting between the ultras and it was a great experience even though they didnt play that big of a team they won 1-0 and the fans were amazing

Ultras culture started in Italy and like many other ultra groups around europe, Ultras Rapid were inspired by italian ultras which might explain the use of italian slogans

@@essbee59 1984, to be exact. Rapid won the first match (at home) 3-1 against Celtic. Then, during the return match in Glasgow, a player of Rapid was hit and knocked out by a glass bottle thrown by Celtic Fans at 2-0 for Celtic. Still the game was continued and ended 3-0 for Celtic. Rapid protested and the UEFA invalidated the result of the return match and decided that it had to be played again, at a town at least 150 km from Glasgow. So the 3rd match was played in Manchester and Rapid won 1-0. Celtic was out whereas Rapid was in the next round. I still remember that very well, despite being a fan of Austria Wien💜💜💜. Anyway, since those days Celtic fans hate Rapid and call them cheaters.
