Biggest mistake I made was over-buying in the beginning and then sticking to a curriculum because I wanted it to work versus what was actually working for my kiddos. I won't sacrifice our own beliefs when it comes to curriculum and to do research on the company. I won't mention names, but when I reached out to a company and asked for clarification on a few things they were very rude. The representative told me "You want to buy it or not!" with such a tone, I immediately hung up and never gave that company a second glance.

With that being said I have 3 different math curriculum that I use with them because they all learn differently and I know people thing I’m crazy but I hate dealing with tears everyday so I had to do different curriculum, which is Math-u-see, horizons math, and Masterbooks. Yes there are many stories about idols but that is something that just goes along with the time period. If you are learning about the Greeks you will learn about the greek gods. That is simply what the people from that culture believed. The author is just relaying information. If there are fables about idols that you feel uncomfortable reading to your kids it is easy to skip over. I found a company that I truly loved the aspects of it, the literature inside, and the fact that I believe it is a good foundation for learning to read. It is also affordable to me. For that curriculum, it is a Christian company and advertisers a Christian company. The writers of that company have many different world views. I have looked through many of the sample pages and do not see where it the tears off of basic Christian values such as honesty Etc. I'm wondering if because the writers are of different world beliefs than mine if I should look into switching. I do not take his opinions into consideration because if it were up to him, he would not choose any of it. He's a middle child going through his rebellious phase. Guest Hollow is one of those curriculums that I was not prepared for regarding their world view. Their online textbooks are good, and I was using that as an indicator for their curriculum plans. I was not prepared for every single book, video, website, and article to be secular. Not a single reference to a Biblical world view at all. I watched tons of Christian homeschooler videos saying how great the plans were. Same thing with Sonlight and Easy-peasy, nothing but secular resources when it comes to science.
