Float on Fire at Wells Carnival

Carnival float catches fire at Wells (Somerset) carnival November 12th 2010. Started out with a bit of smoke and within seconds this.
Should add that the road crew saved the day here, spotting the smoke early and tackling the fire just in time. Could have been a lot worse if the float had got further up Chamberlain Street before it was noticed.

Ive been in carnival over 20 years never seen any think like this soo sorry for you guys well done see you back on the road next year.
One good thing is that no one was hurt and you got it all undercontrol just shows that carnival clubs know what they are doing darren (Hot Rock CC)

@mightyboosh45 didn't take long for the fire fighters to arrive. The performers were cheered by the crowed where the float had stopped when they decided to walk the route. Not sure if they carried on and walked the whole route though!

solarfusionuk they would of had to pull the cart out to much of a risk to light it back up the fire could of severed electrical components

@mightyboosh45 Yes happened during the carnival. Fortunately the road crew spotted the smoke early and stopped the float before it went any further.

no, the rest of the people on cart watched the rest of the carnival, i saw my friend who was on this cart as my cart came round the centre of the town.

Very sorry to see this also - the Vagabonds cart was amazing as it rounded the turn into Portway, then it all went bad in seconds. Best of luck to the club for next year.

Suprised the road crew dident try to put it out as they have two exstiwishers invthe genarator cart in the little cuby holes

I'm a carnivalite we were 2 carts away from them all our thorought on thems and just to let I knw Chloe Jenkins is not in carnival
