I will never forget meeting Mark and Ronan after a concert in Detroit at a local night club after-party. I talked to Ronan for a solid hour and it wasn't the first time I had met and talked to him. As a practically lifetime fan of VNV Nation I have been going to their concerts for a long time, and many times I have managed to actually meet and shake Ronan and Mark's hands. Ronan remembered me from a few of his previous concerts, as I had seen them in Denver, Chicago, Detroit and Colorado Springs among various other places. VNV Nation got me through 2 tours overseas and some of the hardest times in my life. Ronan is an amazing singer and person and he actually cares about his fans. Thank you for all you do, all you have done, Ronan!

Ronan is amazing. I met him over a decade ago and he chatted with me like I was a friend. VNV nation has gotten me through wildly dark times and i will always love and respect them for that.

That resonates with me as well. When I lived near San Francisco every time they'd come someone (sometimes me) would yell out for them to play Freebird. One such evening was at DNA Lounge when I yell it during a silent lul, he laughs and then proceeds to tell a story about how they put together a pre-concert mix of songs from Boston, Foreigner and so forth, with the final song before they come out being Freebird, and Ronan thanked San Francisco for the idea. So one day I had a chance to see then in Denver, I go and I make the SF request, he laughs and then asks if I'm from San Francisco. Sometimes a VNV concert is reason enough to fly to another city for a mini-vacation.

Absolutely the same experience... Even back, Christ, 20 years ago. Amazing show, went to bar afterwards, and chatted with Ronan and Mark for an hour over beers. Talked to me like a friend. I treasure the memory.

Dieser Song ist irgendwie magisch. Hab ich ihn erst einmal gespielt, kann ich einfach nicht aufhören, ihn erneut zu hören. Es ist wohl wirklich die Message, die der Song in sich birgt, die Sehnsucht beider nach Frieden und Freiheit. Wohin bringt uns der Fährmann?
