I guessed the beginning of the movie the moment I thought "this could make a really good movie" back when I played the first game.
Its about as cliche of an opening as you can get for a spooky movie, but one that works really well for setting up the tone of the film.

Matpat recently made a video where he said that he had the script and didn’t want to make a theory because it would be spoiling it. Also, he said “I believe that this sequence is probably going to be *in* the beginning of the film”. The beginning of a book does not always mean just the first page; it can go multiple before reaching the body of it. Same with movies. This likely occurs in what the directors made the beginning of the movie, right before the main body happened (where Mike goes to the next night).
