when he said "But in October we’re selling out KOKO". KOKO is a pretty famous venue in Camden, North West London. Typically more of an indie/rock place but Akala is just a man of the people so most crowds just love him.
Holt was a Jamaican reggae singer who first found fame as a member of The Paragons, before establishing himself as a solo artist, he was also iconic and dabbled in many genre's like Ska, rocksteady, reggae.
the reason why he said "Like old school jungle selection, come through humble a veteran" is because jungle is a genre of music from the UK that was massive in the 90's & early 2000's and grime took a lot from that genre.f you need a jungle song to listen to to get a feel of the genre, listen to Shadow demon coalition , mc bassman, spyda , trigga, dj nicky.

Akala performed in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. Ethiopian culture and traditions were embraced and woven into the Rasta movement, popularised by Bob Marley. The only country Bob Marley visited in Africa was Ethiopia where he played in a village allocated for Jamaicans or African descendants to come and resettle. There is now a statue of Bob Marley in Addis Ababa erected in 2015. Akala most likely wanted to perform there because of his Rasta roots as his father is Jamaican.

Akala is one of the best M.C's in the world in my opinion.There are so many excellent British rappers you should check out Chester P, Potter Payper, Dave, Fredo, Skinnyman, Kano, Lil Simz and so many more

We miss this trick because the language for both are so different to todays set of languages. Akala is a huge Shakespeare fan and has taught it to school children in the past. Fantastic use of literature within a modern rap song. I honestly think he will win the Nobel Prize for Literature one day, like Bob Dylan.

Owning your masters (comes from the old days when the artist owned the original master recording) but when you own your masters your catalogue is all yours and you'll always get ALL of the money generated unless you've signed some sort of record deal

When he refers to owning his masters, he is referring to owning his own music. In music business, when an artist signs a contract, they are giving the label ownership of everything they release. Its bonkers but reality.
