- This composition transports us to a gloomy stormy night, enveloping us with its hypnotic soundscape, as well as the sounds of thunder, rain, and various textures.
A few words from the author: I dedicated this channel to the dark and dystopian side of ambient music. Here you will find such moods of ambient music as cinematic ambient music, dark ambient music, meditative ambient music, cyberpunk ambient music, sci-fi ambient music, futuristic ambient music. Most often in my compositions I use rain sounds, hypontic drones, deep soundscapes, and various synthesized sound effects. Perfect for writing my book. I accomplished 4 paragraphs and named 3 new characters.
We saw a structure off in the distance, and seeing an opportunity to get out of the pouring rain we headed towards it. As we approached I marveled, having not seen anything like it. It looked similar to what I had seen earlier in our journey in the ruins of the Proscription Zone. It was massive like the others, but only a couple of stories tall and spread out.
"We'll camp here for the night, and continue onto our next checkpoint in the morning." said our team leader.
Fine by me I thought, a chance to get dry for a while. "What is this place?" I couldn't help but ask.
"This is an airport, but not like what we have now. Before the Upheavals it was common for people to travel to distant lands by coming to them, then packing themselves into massive airplanes. I used to fly on them when I was a kid. The security was annoying though." - Replied our lead.
I stood in awe, amazed at how so many of the lights were still working even after all this time with obviously no maintenance. "They sure don't build them like they used to........"

This is like the apocalypse, a plane apocalypse where you can't fly but can only stay at the hauntingly quiet and deserted airport.
It’s deserted. Just a relic of what used to be. Lost in time. Lost in Eternal Dystopia.
I love this music.
Reminds me of the scene in Manhunter (1985) when Detective Graham is at the airport cafe drinking coffee looking out onto the ramp. It's night and raining and all you can see are the drops of rain, the taxiway lights, and red beacon lights of aircraft. All of this overlaid by the wonderful score by Michel Rubini.

As an airplane mechanic I also very much appreciate this. Great music for sitting in an Airbus cockpit after all my work is done, staring outside into the darkness. (I work overnights)

I somehow resisted the urge to smile. Had this severe-looking officer known my true purpose, he would have ensured that my departure occurred in a body bag. "I anticipated this," I assured the man, nudging my suitcase with the toe of my smartly-polished shoe, doing my best to hide the true nature of what was inside.
He nodded curtly and left, ignorant of the imminent change to the world he knew. The storm raging above was no natural occurrence, and I was no mere traveler. This lonely, brutalist airport had become the nexus of a paradigm shift like no other in human history- and I would be the key that unlocked the door to a new age.
At the end of things, the gateway becomes the destination.

The Soviets did it over and over again. They used so much concrete that these structures still exist
You cannot be serious? You think this is a photo or this place actually exists??? It is computer generated. Wow, I guess if it is on the internet some people will believe ANYTHING they see or read. Scary is what that is. A TOTALLY sad commentary on the society that we live if that someone thinks this is an actual place. Music is fantastic though.

Dystopic hellscapes still have a charm to them. As the boy full of life I am, I'm inclined to always find purpose, value, reason and enjoyment in everything. But what really makes a dystopia, is the destruction, the illness, the evil ruling over every aspect of everyone's life. I wish I could appreciate similar hellscapes, first and foremostly by being able to visit them. But this asociety makes my life so impossible in every aspect, I end up living nothing at all. And to experience them here isnt any different than living in a matrix. To be fair, so would be experiencing this dystopia, but at least it feels realer.
Indeed it's vary sad. We dream the night we lay down knowing that this is what we wake up to
