Did you tone her hair after you rinsed out the root colour? Or did you tone it while the roots were processing? Also what did you use to tone the ends?
GREAT explaination. I lovw that with your video. you don't just talk, you show the whole process with the explaining in a way so a new or unconfident hairdresser can start to understand which products to use when and why use that particular colour. Well done

What toner for ends?
Gorgeous . If I don’t have a license, what toners would you recommend for highlights and root tap? In between jobs need to save money, but actually enjoy doing my hair- just need to get the root tapping toner brand
I use Shades EQ or Loreal Dialight Milkshake range demi usually; but if I am just doing my hair on a whim and need something asap, then I have found the Chi Ionic Shine Shades to be the most similar to Redken Shades EQ. You can get that line at Sally's. If they don't have the exact level/tone you need, then go down a level (get a 6 instead of 7), and get a bottle of the clear to mix in it. That will bring the 6 to a level 7. :)
What was the mixing ratio of the shadow root??
She used 3 toners but didn't specify the amounts of each. Redken shades EQ is a 1:1 ratio with their 7-volume processing solution but some stylists will do 1oz of one color, .5 of another and so on. I am in love with the root color she did and also wish to know he ratios of each 😢

That’s my only question “tone the ends like normal,” does that mean same toner combo or a 9V or 10P?
How did you get that? From doing that? I’m so confused. You basically got my dream hair style but I didn’t see you add any highlights. Because I’m so confused, I need some advice immediately. So for the shadow root, does that mean you can get the perfect shade of roots that you actually really want. My actual roots are not what I like. I love this shade of roots.
Hey girl you did such a beautiful job! Quick question babe… after you did the shadow root and then added the conditioner to her ends to act as a filler/ to protect it staying bright before you combed everything together when you were finished and it came time to tone it while her root shadow was still processing did you rinse out the conditioner before you added the toner to her blonde or did you just add the toner over that conditioner, let process, and then rinse root shadow, conditioner/ toner out?
I tone on top of the conditioner! 💜

Hey , how long is a redken eq shadow staying on hair? Is it a temporary toon?
It is a demi-permanent toner so it washes out over time. You can always buy it in permanent but if you do your hair often demi/semi is the way to go.
These remind me a lot of PM Shines which is now just PM semi. This cannot used for grey coverage correct?

What developer did you use with the toner? Would you use a 10 or a 20?
never use a 20 for toner!! I use a 7-10 volume never higher
shades eq has its own developer.

Yes that's what the company Redken recommends, rinse the conditioner and then towel dry the hair apply the gloss on the damp hair
If I want the toner not to process as quick, I do not rinse the conditioner
i see you use shades ? i bought actual color to do this will it work or are those the same i’m not licensed but can’t afford to get done professionally

I attended a redken shades eq class by redken and learned it's best to apply it after shampoo And condition the hair, apply to the damp hair after rinsing the conditioner.

🛑Gotta question please help I've got 10 p 10 t 10 gi and 9n I don't have no v 's at all I've got alot of level 9 and 10 in my hair with a dark shadow root just need brightening up my blonde what would you suggest that I use or what could I mix with those together I have processing solution and the Crystal clear I'm just new and I don't know hope you can help me decide 💜💜
hope I can help I would use the 10P with the ( and clear, put on with bottle or brush in sections from root to tip, and leave on I would say 10 to 15 min :(you could do a strand test in the back behind for a good idea how it will turn out .. HOPE THIS HELPS >>

Thank you for the information but guess what I used 9n with half clear it came out to dark in the process I've been washing my hair but it's been a month already barely fading I hate it I want my blonde back it's to dark for me but it will soon fade oh what is the little bottle of looks like a shades eq color but it has 000 on it crystal clear I'm so confused is it for higher gloss or just a very small expensive bottle of the bigger version please help me 💜it looks just like the little pink bottle but says 000 crystal clear

@@heidibachman6230 well I have all over level 8 9 and 10 type balayage but only have a select few colors from shades EQ to choose from have 7na 10 t 10 p I'm just trying to tone down some of the brassy parts but if these won't work I may have to tone all the way down and lose my blonde I was hoping to keep some I hope you can help me
@@heidibachman6230 Heidi I also have some level seven bright orange underneath too just all faded out on top of all this my hair is shoulder length and I had my hair trimmed and it is so uneven I'm terrified to go to another stylist I went in with no layers come out with layers and they're horribly and my hair just don't lay right no more sorry for all of them messages but just trying to get help
