- Ive looked all over the internet to find somewhere that had a version of The Wall Album using the songs from the film, with no success... So I made my own. The Wall is one of the most amazing albums, but for some reason, the re-recorded songs that were used for the film had so much more dynamic and powerful sounds that I really wanted to have in iTunes. I tried my best to transition the songs into one another smoothly. I can email the album from iTunes as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who prefers the movie's soundtrack to the album's.
Eh, im mixed, i dont prefer the WHOLE album, i do love "what shall we do now?" That should have definitely been in the album, and the screaming toward the end of Confortably Numb
jsvkia1 Thank you! everyone thinks i'm crazy for liking the film version of 'What Shall We Do Now?' better than that of the album.
Snydern96 Same, I prefer some of the album, some of the soundtrack. Really a shame there's no definitive version of The Wall.
Omg I prefer this too! I'm so glad I'm not alone on this one
Snydern96 The actual soundtrack was released as The Film; I know, I own it ;)
i saw the movie "the Wall" in the theatre in '82, when i was 14yo.... my Dad took my brother and I, who was 13... we thought it was kind of boring at the time and wondered why my Dad would take us to this.... why not ET or tootsie?
looking back, it was a pretty cool father-son experience that i didn't appreciate at the time..... so, if your Dad wants to take you somewhere that seems boring, go anyways... because it might be a life experience
My sister gave me a VHS cassette of this film when I was 7. I watched the film 4 times that night and they saw me sitting in the living room in front of the TV the next morning, still watching the film. They thought there would be something wrong with me because of that :D
Danilo Kusovac ...did the worms eat into your brain?
Now that you mentioned it...
Oh my god I just spit out my water XD
Cool story, thx,for sharing
I've listened to this the entire way through and I must say, never in my years have I ever heard a soundtrack that evoked so much emotion as this one. All other soundtracks seem stone-faced compared to this one which just bleeds emotion with a disturbingly gorgeous story oozing through the cracks in the wall. This soundtrack combined with Geldof's acting and Scarfe's glorious animation is why 'Pink Floyd - The Wall' will always be one of my greatest films of all time
Couldn't agree with you more there.
The best movie soundtrack ever created! I've seen the movie 100's of times too. I saw Roger Waters The Wall @ KFC Yum Center in Louisville, KY on June 10, 2012... best show ever. Could listen to this every day. Thanks for posting.
I walked in on someone watching this when I was about four. It was on in the rec room. I hid behind the sofa and watched the whole thing. It really disturbed me. I don't think I understood much but it was pretty distressing. I never could find it after that and whenever I asked about it, describing it poorly from broken memory, people looked at me like I was crazy. Eventually I just started thinking I had dreamed it or worse, that something unspeakable had happened to me as a child and that bizarre collection of half-lit images and sounds was how my memory dealt with it. It really bothered me. And then in, like, grade 10 or something, somebody played it at a party. You can imagine how vindicated I felt. Like "Oh cool, I don't have PTSD.. it was just a rock opera."
It's one of my favourite movies now.
+Ella S (groovylocks) Whenever people say that anything is age appropriate for kids, I tell them this story.
I figure when my daughter is 12 or so, we'll watch this together. When she's 4, we're sticking to Dark Side of the Moon.
Everything you say just resonates with me, my first musical memory is the wall and my dad playing it in the car and me just being terrified by it lol
I wasn't born in the Floyd generation, I'm only 19. I have such a deep appreciation for their music. It's so emotionally captivating. I listen to them constantly. They are definitely in my top 5.
so how's being 27?
There are so many things that happen inside of me when I hear to this track...its an amazing piece of art.
So much of what makes this greater than the album is Geldof's voice. Full film was up on you tube a couple of months ago. Thank you for doing this.
Huh??? Peter, that makes no sense. With the exception of just two songs, all re-recorded vocals for the film soundtrack are by Roger Waters (and Gilmour). The ONLY songs re-recorded with Bob Geldof on lead vocals are "In the Flesh", and "Stop"...both of which are, IMHO, inferior to Waters original vocals. However, with that said, Geldof's performance in the film (although largely dialogue-free), is well done.
Deuterium2H The order of the songs also changes.
True, Peter. Waters is and was great, but Geldof put so much fire into the tunes he sang in the film. Very different feel, neither better than the other, in my opinion, but his acting AND singing were phenomenal.
Jason Henderson
Again, I am perplexed with this gushing over Bob Geldof. Don't get me wrong, the man was fantastic in the film. But as I posted previously, in reply to Peter Pease, Geldof's vocals ONLY COMPRISE TWO SONGS off of the entire soundtrack ( "In the Flesh", and "Stop") . EVERYTHING ELSE IS RE-RECORDED VERSIONS BY WATERS AND GILMOUR. Again, this is not to take anything away from Geldof's performance in the film...but he just didn't have anything much to do with the music or the vocals. If you really want to hear the best Live recording of this album, check out "Is There Anybody Out There?" (The Wall Tour - Live at Earl's Court, 1980)

I understand that. I am referring to the songs he sang IN THE FILM. The rest of the music with waters singing was more JUST soundtrack, whereas Geldof's numbers were more part of the story... part of the role he acted. He brought those songs to the foreground of the film and gave Pink's descent into madness a face AND a voice. It gave us a look inside his head, rather than an audible backdrop to the events leading him there. I am in no way ignoring or dick until the fact that, yes, Waters' voice carried us through the story. Just saying that Geldof gave the story passion that wasn't already there. Dig?
Got this soundtrack on vinyl Lp!, it´s called "THE FILM", great MONO sound!
I am 38 now, when I was 14 I took my tv apart and ran a speaker wire to my stereo and used my VHS(lol) copy of the movie and a blank cassette (lol) and did the same thing. Obviously mine did not sound nearly this good but it was 1988. Great minds think alike!!
si tienes la pelicula original,en vhs ,tu sabes que ahora con la tegnologia actual, puede que te la mejoren en un estudio, pero asegurate que no te la borren, porque tienes una jolla en vhs..
I did that process more times and with more films than I care to remember.
And now my computer is on my tv and my keyboard is across the room in my lap and if I want to listen to or see anything in the universe ever made, I can merely use my voice actuator to speak out loud what I desire, and I click with my also wireless mouse, and I hear it within moments thanks to the connection to the world wide web which i am pulling down from thin air.
SERIOUSLY HOW COOL IS LIVING IN THE FUTURE
I am also 38. Lulz.
I remember recording this off of the T.V. on my "boom box" as a 12 year old kid. It was in the middle of night off of something like HBO or Showtime in like.... 82' or 83. I was mesmerized by this album/movie for the next 5 years.
Thank you for uploading this. As I was doing some work in my office, I had this in the background and could envision the movie in my head throughout. I'd seen it so many times, I only needed the soundtrack to bring it back.
I always loved some of the different versions of these songs ,, Like the Geldof versions of In The Flesh ,, and the different version of Mother with some different lyrics in different parts of the songs. The biggest treat is "What shall we do Now?" the full version.. Thank you for taking the time to do this. If anyone likes Geldof's Vocals on The Wall stuff ,, here is a treat for you .. look up on CZcams Bob Geldof and David Gilmore comfortably numb... although he doesn't do that song in the movie it really gives you "The Wall" movie vibe.
So much better than the original. And when you watch it with the movie, your mind will be blown...So great. Amazing!

pink floyd isnt even my favorite band but this movie is definitely in my top five
I love you. I have wanted this for 22 years, give or take.
(Saw the film in 1993. I was 16)
13:30 chills in the spine...... i can watch it in my mind.....
So much better than the original. And when you watch it with the movie, your mind will be blown...So great.
I put the full film sound track on to two CDs straight from the DVD to CD and it sounds minted just like it should. I've always preferred the film sound track, made loads of CDs for my friends, they think the same also, love it.
Finally! My father and I both have been looking everywhere for this version. Thank you!
Now I just want to cry....... .Damn copyright!
Thanks for uploading this. Hard to believe "When the Tigers Broke Free" wasn't included in The Wall album. It's a masterpiece of poignant loss and damning commentary of war - brilliant in it's understated bitterness.
The film soundtrack was made after the album tour
Pink Floyd is the only band that deserves a movie for them, not one direction, not justin beiber, not even michael jackson. Pink Floyd, That's It!
I agree, the songs from the movie add so much more to the experience, and in the past I've had to play the movie to hear them. Great job, and thank you!!
thank you...i taped this on cassette from the movie back then, it went everywhere with me, better then the album....good old days.. thanks again..
first time I saw the wall I was tripping on Acid! this movie is some next level shit!! I went through an emotional rollercoaster and now this is officially my favorite album. I can't even describe my experience, all I'm saying is if you like the movie straight up the acid will cement it in for you.
This version of 'Mother' is way better than the original one. The soft heartbeat, the loneliness feeling of the blowing wind, and that fucking riff after the solo make me cry. Also this scene on the film is totally awesome, I love this movie and this soundtrack as well.
Again, thanks to VTFootball for uploading this, you are awesome!!!
Saw Australian Pink Floyd a few years back and they nailed this album
Thanks for posting, I had trouble finding it too.
Would LOVE to download the entire movie, with Pink and his decline into madness. . .
I TOTALLY forgot how much better the version of Outside The Wall is on this version.
I like the little kids singing and all, but I prefer when Roger Waters is singing, and not speaking the lyrics. LOVE this version. I have heard it way way less than the album version.
Trogg Door Yes the last piece is really great, the short version on the "normal" album really doesn't do it justice. Also an essential closing piece to the whole story, really love it.
oh yes i only have 12 years but i now the full album and my 2 favorite albums of pink floyd are dark side of the moon and the wall
thank you thank you...this version of mother is by far the best!
I wish it had "Hey You" in it, but otherwise this is awesome!
Thank you for putting this together, VTFootball22. I've always loved the movie version's sound quality, too. You are awesome!
I listen to this in any mood. Great music :*
thank you so much for making this! I had a copy of the movie on VHS when I was a kid eons ago, and I much prefer the movie versions of these songs over the album versions. the extra small sounds, the foley bits, the different vocal tracks - it all combines to make something magical that the album version simply lacks. bravo & thankee
I really love the song "What Shall We Do Now?" which is only featured in the movie and live performances!
I bought a copy of the actual soundtrack. It was called "The Wall Spare Bricks"
No other soundtrack has ever evoked so much inner hatred for my teachers as this one.
Sounds like it worked. Maybe one day they will understand it.
Outstanding - thank you VTF always wanted this soundtract/movie cut. Nicely done.
An Excellent Download. You're a True Humanitarian ... Remain Inspired, My Friend.
This is awesome, thanks for doing this! Goodbye Blue Sky is one of my favorite Floyd songs and is so much better in the movie than the album.
Thank you for your labours in putting this together. Much appreciated
Thanks for uploading dude!
searched soo long for a "Movie-Version" of "The Wall".. finally got it :)
Cheers!
VTFootball22 Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Awesome job well done! I could see the whole movie while listening and it has so many wonderful songs that are not on the "official soundtrack" You Rock man!
Mercis pink Floyd pour toutes ses années des plus merveilleux albums de pop ! Vous êtes les rois
Best album ever!!!!!
Thank you for posting this
Thanks for uploading this
excellent sound quality....thanks!
Love it. I rather this than the album itself. ❤
this is so awesome I love it, thank you
Thanks. Good job!
Thanks!!! Great Job!!
It's out there.....if you seach Pink Floyd "The Film" you will definately come across it.
It really is a let down that no official album has been released for the film.
I'd buy it.
Awesome.
The original album from 1979 is great but i think the music from the movie sounds more real and i also have a better connection aswell but all an all pink floyd is and always will be the best all the way around and then some this music never dies!!
the movie had songs in it that weren't featured in the album.
the songs were also recorded again and as such, sound slightly different; sound effects from the movie included in the recording etc.
they are essentially different versions of the studio recordings
thank you for this
WTH MAN ! Yesterday it was with sound and now its without ! damn it , best damn trip i ever had ... thanks youtube
wow superb really enjoyed that m8 cheers for posting
c'est magnifique!!!
Excellent
very good...
¡Excelente trabajo!, or should I say: Excelent job! (y)
I can honestly say I like this much better than the original album.
great job
Thank You.
so true, the album without the sounds from the movie just doesn't seem right
saw/heard IT all live this tuesday.. still in euphoria....
Love the first track.
According to sources, the reason this was not released as an album even though it was advertised in the credits of the film was that the plan was that Roger Waters was going to produce another Pink Floyd album after this movie, and he was going to call it Spare Bricks and while it wouldn’t contain the entire wall album from the movie given that 90% of the film soundtrack was remixed from the original The Wall album, the plan was to do an album of the re-recordings so that would be Mother, both versions of In The Flesh with Bob Geldof singing lead instead of Roger Waters When the tigers broke free, and The empty spaces with What shall we do now tagged on. Also to fill the album, Roger Waters had some new material that he had written that he was going to add for running time for the album, however after he read a news article about some political stuff in England, it made Waters very angry and he decided to express that on the next Floyd album which became The Final Cut. It is a shame, though that the re-recorded tracks have never been released on any Pink Floyd compilation.
There is it is call Pink lloyds greatest hits.
There is a bootleg I have called "Pink Floyd The Film" which is the soundtrack for the movie. I do not know if it was ever actually released, but there is some pretty cool artwork for it.
I see the movie in my head too! Thank you! (dank je wel in het nederlands...)
Awesome! It can be hard to find "When the Tiger's Broke Free!" I know it is strange but I used to sing it to my daughter when she was a baby to put her to sleep... Just a great song. Thanks for doing all this work for this!
Its on The Final Cut 1982
Thank you...
thanks!
good job
yes, it did, the songs were just re-recorded for the movie when it got made.
well done
Great music
una obra de teatro para los oidos... gracias pink floyd
I'm 14 and just listen to all the great songs from earlier times...
fuck on "charts" THATS my charts!
To put it in proper order so you can understand:
-rock album
-movie based on rock album with newly recorded music.
To understand such, listen to 'Mother'. In the rock album, that song is fast paced, in the film album, it's slower and much darker with an orchestra to back it.
So this is a soundtrack because it has the newly recorded songs from the film, for the film.
Wow!
My dad Has that Album in CD from the 1980s
god bless you man
"We're your mummy?"
"She gone to the shops"
whY DO YOU LEAVE A KID AT A PARK
HELL YEA, i was just about to search for it and/or make my own with my video editor. i agree these versions are better and more captivating
There are copies of the albums that contain the songs in the movie now. I have a copy, think it's called "The Final Cut", that has When the Tigers Broke Free on it.. I think there's a live album containing the others.
the best album :P
Now i have to hear the music in my head too :(
Great job man " what you have to remember about movie sound tracks is they are made for 8 channel surround sound playback where as your CD cuts are audio play back without video sink this is why you miss the bunch behind the music.
I wish the regular album had the song When the Tigers Broke Free.
Wow.....Wow.....Thank you for uploading this....Your The Man....although my wife appreciates none of this :-(
thanks
this is such a good movie
I love Empty Spaces version from the film.
I have this on vinyl from the late 80"s. Good Job though
