Someone needs to warn global automotive market (especially from 🇺🇸 and europe) before its too late. The Chinese are here with no bloody optional extras to pay for, at much cheaper prices. Soon people will stop buying an expensive empty metal box just because it has a Mercedes Benz or BMW badge on it. 🤞
Unfortunately it'll be too late when they decide to wake up. The Germans have gone insane with the pricing of their vehicles. The Chinese cars are not bad at all. People are gravitating towards brands like haval and chery cos they offer more value for money.
Honestly the Chinese are outliers and it is not easy to compare anything with them. Once you think of 150kw H6 GT at +/-R645K, as much as its a different segment you will think twice. The best way to get this is at balloon payment but going in with open eyes knowing that you only keeping it for a certain period and then you change it (That's if they guarantee future value as complicated as it is to get the value agreed on, you'd have saved serious cashflow if you keep it clean for the +/- 4 years you have it). Otherwise, paying R17,5K over 6 years is not a joke🤔🤔🤔
The Chinese have taken over in a very big way. Hence some cars are being discontinued entirely. Either in SA or internationally. As much as some are affected by SUVs and EVs taking over, some are affected by China's infiltration into the market.🤞🏾
Have you saw the Hiphi A For chinese, i like the cars i just wish they can be shipped to South Africa 2 sec from 0 to 100km and the technology on the cars.
i have this exact car same colour and spec it is also a mild hybrid which gives you lots of punch at mid range it drives lovely
The ones we have here in SA are not Mild-Hybrid, unless if I missed something. It drives well but you can feel that behind all the insulation, the engine is working hard

It is indeed a satisfying daily car. I can't fault it on that and yah the price will make you think twice. I think that's why Merc sold it with finance deals to counter that when they lauched it. +/-R900K is not a small fry yoh. Otherwise, thank you so much for the positive feedback. Expensive but beautoful. With that moneny I would by a Honda civir rs and keep the change, and I would be getting a complete car with no need for expensive optional extras. Beatiful review loved the sound system test.

Yeah, with these cars it is always better to get something that someone has already specced nicely and decided to let it go or the demo ones. Luckily the demand has stabilized now after what we sa during Covid-19 period where second hand cars were more expensive

It’s a 1.3 litre engine and it averages 9.5 litre/100km😅. That’s a lot for such a small engine. The 2021 Kia Rio with a 1.5 litre engine and turbo averages around 6.7 litre.
I heard some people praising it for fuel consumption. I just did not experience it honestly. Some said they got around 6.8L/100km. I (as I showed on the screen) always kept it above 9L, I think it's the way I was driving it maybe🤔🤔

😅😅😅. It is indeed those girls that require your pocket to run a little deeper than normal. There is a lot you have to ask yourself before picking it up. Mostly those who want a Mercedes want it, they understand the engine size and all those but they want it anyway. The POLO GTi is an amazing car, in so many ways but so many things don't give you the feeling that this has. Especially looking at the fact that people who used to buy in this segment (Golf, A3, 1 Series, etc) have now started seeing the Polo as a good compromise. I think though thay Polo feels cheap in some areas honestly and as a entry level sport car, it is fine where it is but the biggest problem for me is that this is the almost the same price as the 180kw Golf GTi, now that is where things start getting tricky because that is definitely not a cheap car and it does not feel cheap at all and can bring you the same level of satisfaction on "status" and surpass this on performance. Thanks a lot my brother, bit by bit we are adding value to people through the lens. On the car, I understand why many people are skeptical of the price and surely one of the reasons Mercedes attached a lot of "Agility Finance" marketing to it. +/-R900K is no joke yoh! Overall though, what a car that is, it has the composure and the agility to be used daily and on long distances without any stress. I loved it, fuel consumption was not that impressive though, wanna test the diesel.👌🏾

Less power and the price is high . It is not a good idea to buy it unless you don't know cars . The polo gti will give you a hard time on the road. Just imagine a polo 😅
Well Polo GTi has really grown honestly, the quality though is still a Polo quality. One who buys this may not be worried about a Polo GTi due to what they would be looking for. Yes, if it was me, I would considet the Polo Gti but I know some would rather live in opulence than fast cars.

@@Iam_chriscardoYep. I am not an advocate for those kind of deals but sometimes one has to just be smart about cash flow. If you change your mind during the ownership period you can actually refinance and plan around keeping it. If you not planning to keep it for long, might as well save some money. It is risky but with proper planning and insurance for credit shortfall, you can play it nice. Depending on what you do in life, sometimes a good car can mean closing the deal or not
