- XDefiant is NOT a call of duty killer. This game is, at launch, pretty awful. XDefiant was developed by Ubisoft to compete with Call Of Duty. It's main selling point was to try and create a Call Of Duty esque game without all of the skill based match making and broken metas. But in nearly all fronts it falls very short in trying to overthrow Call of Duty for the throne of FPS king.

i actually quite enjoyed black ops 4! i think a long TTK isn't bad per se but in bo4 it didn't feel unpolished and janky like xdefiant
100% correct. All raised points are on point. I've just uninstalled. SO freaking many problems this game has. Absolutely terrible.
Respect to the devs for investing time and money but at the end of the day no one can make a better cod than cod. And I also feel like a lot of people are supporting this game because cod content creators are over saturated. A lot of people want to go pro or at least gain a following for gaming. People may subconsciously think that if they get good at the game they can gain influence in the new community leading them to participate in pro tournaments therefore not having to work a 9-5
It’s not a cod killer and it’s not bad either. It’s a free shooter game that can improve over time. It’s a good alternative to cod and cod needs competition.

The TTK is wild. I can’t tell if it’s hit reg issues/server issues or I’m just that bad. I can absolutely beam 1-2 people and then I can’t win a gunfight to save my life

I think the base game is solid and I had a lot of fun last night in the matches I played, a little more polish + balancing n we’ll be good

The gunplay/ scoping really felt awful to me. The movement was also really stiff, especially jumping in after COD. I gave it a try but it’s not for me. One thing I did like a lot was the maps.
This is a cluster fk of shoot first get hits first die. It’s a bunny hopping spam session that’s beyond obnoxious.

glad you mentioned the inconsistent feel of guns, i thought i was going crazy. apparently the devs are aware that the hit reg is messed up , or atleast thats what i seen when i google searched the issue. regardless i think this game will die very fast as the hit reg is trash, most guns are not good, No TDM, and its another NEW game trying to be a ARENA HERO SHOOTER in 2024. All a game like this has to do is simply copy kill streaks from cod, copy gamemodes from cod, have good hit reg and no sbmm and it could possibly have some staying power.

I'm more of a Halo player, but I agreed with everything that you said here. I played it today and just didn't find it appealing. The movement mechanics are trash, the guns have way too much recoil, there's not really good feedback showing that you're hitting somebody either. It's just not a good game

Actually, i almost agree to every point. Yes, its feel janky and weird. Yes, you get melted, but the enemies are tanky af. Yes, the balancing is awful. But even if you consider all of this points, i don't think its that bad as you make it, a 3 outta 10? like really ?. Its Competion for COD and that is always good for us, so i don't mind.

Its a typical free 2 play predatory shop that's it. The game play is boring once you've played a few hours every game mode is just a tdm. I used to go into a shop to find a game now i go into a game to find a shop.
@1:52 thats one of my biggest gripes. What is that small pause while mantling. Movement is just clunky. On top of everything else. Couldn't play more than 20 minutes last night and I was over it. Went right back to MW3.
Yeah there were times I was trying to climb over a small ledge while in a hurry. After three attempts I thought it was impossible to hurdle until I gave it another shot and success.

Any FPS game trying to be in the same vein as CoD has the low bar of feeling just as good or better than the og MW trilogy or BO1&2.
It's such an easy standard to hit, however the last game to meet it was Titanfall 2.
The people who are saying "oh it's only launch day give it a chance". I had a better launch day on MW2022, and that game was awful. This game's netcode and desync is some of the worst I've seen in a long time.
Go play Titanfall 2 or old CoDs through clients. Don't bother with slop made by Ubisoft.

It's not as bad as Combat Masters but it is similar in a lot of ways.
To much desync in the game. I waited 2 hours for servers to work so i could get into a game and once i did i was MEH this got old fast. Its was like id been playing for months in the first game 😅
Game is fine but not great, ttk is actually perfect imo. Its not to quick like cod where you just insta die and you have a small window to escape if you have cover nearby. Guns are meh and maps arnt great. Overall a 6.5/10

This is a fucking airsoft simulator 6 bullets it takes to kill on the norm and they come around the corner to point blank you in absolutely done with multiplayer shooters it’s a sweat fest everytime or mechanics r rigged to screw yoy unless your on a god level of aiming

So the game is still in preseason. Not sure how many hours you have invested into the game before reviewing the game but feels a bit premature to call it the "One of the worst game in the last 5 years". Free-to-play is definately good and 30 gig install size is a plus. Not everyone has 200 gig plus storage.
Maybe wait till the full season starts and see where the game goes?

The game is ok, 6/10. The TTK feels kinda meh, like your choices don't have consequences. I'm sorry, the moment a triple AAA studio includes accurate modeling of body parts and the damage a 5.56 would do to them in a game like CoD or XDefiant, I'll be in love. A headshot in a game should always be a one shot kill, a plate carrier should have to be worn to not be slumped from 1-2 to any vital organs, and bleed out times for not tourniqueting a wound to a limb should be in games.
Bring back consequences for your actions in MP shooters.
What are you on about, this game is a competitor to CoD. If you want every headshot to be a one shot kill go play a mil sim game.

This game is a complete waste of space. Guns feel like ass indeed. Netcode is complete garbage, you can empty 2 mags into someone and still see health as 80-100%. Then get rekt by 1 shot kill of a pistol or same gun you use. Random deaths occur here and there. Characters indeed feel like they are floating. The game also has the worst skins I've seen in any game and they also cost 10-30e a piece. BP and WP progression takes forever even with 2XP. It feels way more grindy than BF and COD combined.
ppl complaining about ttk but hitting people in the arms and legs is crazy. the arms and legs receive the least amount of damage. chest and head is where you actually deal damage. maybe hit your shots and aim where the damage multipliers are?
Afaik there aren't any limb hitboxes in this game. I played with damage numbers on and the M4 does 17 shots per hit. Thats a 6 shot kill for characters with 100 HP, and 8 for those with 120.
Headshots are 24 damage, so it still takes 5 headshots at most to kill a character with 120 health.
The meta in this game is to just use anything that 1-2 shots, or any gun that actually has a reasonable TTK.
Is it the best fps ever? No. Is it the worst in recent years? Hell no. Ill take this game over any of the cods from the past few years, or even the rivals. And it seems odd that he goes on to talk about the guns being bad, and then proceeds to list of reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with the guns themselves. This is easily one of the worst reviews ive watched for the game, or almost any game for that matter.

The game is not a cod killer in the slightest. I’ve already uninstalled it and don’t plan on playing it again. The invisible players, invincible shields people hide behind and the stuns last forever. The health also takes 10 years to regenerate. 2/10

Misleading comment. The welcome playlist has SBMM and makes that clear in its description. The other playlists aside from ranked do not have SBMM.
The SBMM or welcome playlist is capped at level 25. I got there getting slapped around the entire time.

I disagree on all your cons. I never had an issue joining a game 3 hours after launch. Been playing all evening. I like the maps. My friends and I are having fun. If you hate the TTK and abilities I'm gonna assume you hate Apex Legends. I agree this game will never replace CoD. But this game feels more similar to Apex IMO. Your opinions are valid, I am just saying I don't understand where the overwhelming hate is coming from community wide. But I have also hated the last few installments of CoD so..I also don't think advertising as a CoD competitor was a good move. All subjective though. Some will hate it, some will enjoy it. I recommend trying it.

I uninstalled, it reminds me too much of mobile gaming. I thought this was meant to be a "boots on the ground" type of game, but it's just another hyper arena shooter with unrealistic movement and unnecessary ults/ability's. (I was racking up 60+ kills a game just flanking with an LMG and holding down left click, there's no skill involved, I'm going back to R6.)

My take as well I uninstalled it before playing when I found out it had all the bullshif abilities you get in all modern shooters now. I just want cod4 style gameplay with minimal killstreaks no abilities and a focus on gunplay with great 3 lame map design.

1. The maps are the best in terms of recent arena shooters, most people agree with this so please look around, you have your opinion though.
2. Don’t use the M4, AK is pretty much better overall. You’re doing the equivalent of complaining about the black ops 2 zombies smr, stop using bad guns.
3. Movement is great in this game, there’s this neat trick called learning.
4. Servers were only bad for about 2-3 hours before working flawlessly, name any recent competitive multiplayer that had a good launch.

The New echelon class can see through walls sorta and it’s on a pulse timer and it’s only when people are closer to you, iv played the class and the only time you get wall hacks is when you get your ultimate and then you can see through walls and pull out a one shot pistol and then it’s kinda like your Cav from rainbow 6. Rainbow has a character that has wall hacks too😂 and it’s still not a shit game and it’s not broken bc of it. I don’t main that class and I was still having games where I was dropping 56 kills and 13 deaths just using the deployable shield and it’s not hard to counter them bc you can see their plus in game if you use your eyes. You have clearly never played any class based shooter before and or don’t like them and that’s fine you can have that opinion but calling it a 3/10 is wild 😂
