- It's been a long time since I uploaded my last cover of this song, but I've been working on my thumb/finger independence and Travis picking so I thought I'd have another go.
The guitar I used is a Blueridge BG-40 and the mic is a Samson CO1U. - Hudba
Fucking awesome mate,
You had me singing along!!!
Brilliant tribute to one of music's best kept secrets AKA the two gallants.

I love that you re did this one, It's great to see how you have improved 8 years from now. Also your original song is really well composed. Nice work!
That's really good of you to say. Thanks a lot man! :)
Good work, great Fuckin tune
I never comment man. This deserves a shout out. Great Song, Well done!
Hey fantastic work on this incredible song, this is the best cover I've seen by far; what resources did use to learn to play it? Your version sounds very true to the original.
Another great job of playing and your Blueridge sounds really good but an OM feels so good in your lap. I'm sure you will love it!
Thanks so much! Yeah, I've had the same guitar for a long time and I'm becoming much more interested in fingerstyle acoustic. I think it would be cool to have a quality OM style guitar to learn fingerstyle on, and the Eastmans are so highly recommended.
The Eastmans have a wider string spacing at the nut and saddle than your Blueridge and that will help with fingerstyle playing. But even the Eastman OMs are a bit narrow compared to a lot of other fingerstyle guitars. I don't have any problem switching from the E20OM to my guitars with wider spacing, just takes a few minutes to adjust. It's good to be able to play on just about anything but you will find certain specs work best for your style and hands. Where are you from?
I'm from the UK and I've found that there aren't a huge amount of places that stock Eastmans here. The nearest place is about two hours drive away and they have Lakewoods there too. I'd like to play both and see how they actually feel so I think I'll go in the next couple of months. For a long time I thought I wanted a Taylor 314, but when I actually played it I didn't like the massive nut width or the tone which sounded to treble-y with not enough bass. I think you've got to play instruments for yourself first :D
It helps if you can play them for sure but I've bought all mine online and the ones I didn't like I sold.
Or if you buy new, make sure they have a good return policy. It definitely cost more doing it that way so if you can take a drive to play them first, it's probably worth it when buying new. Buying used, you can really save a lot of money. I don't think I would ever buy new again. Good luck and let me know what you end up with.
Cheers dude! It might not be for a while, but I will let you know :)
Great job on a great song!
Pretty good cover,keep going!
nice job man
great job! What tabs are you using?...so many out there and most of them are not correct.
You might have seen me underneath the pool-hall lights
Well baby, I go back each night
If you got a throat, I got a knife
Steady rollin' and I keep goin'
And I don't mind how quick the seasons change
You know too me there's everyone the same
The sweetest sunshine drips the drain
And it's comin' and I'm still runnin'
Well, I come from the old time, baby
Too late for you to save me
If I remain then I'm to blame
But if you should ever need me
I'll go where you lead me
It's all the same
The same old game
My love and baby, she's a ball and chain
I still can travel but my speed is changed
I bring the money, I take the blame
Steady rollin' and I keep goin'
But I shot my wife today
Dropped her body in the Frisco Bay
I had no choice, it was the only way
And it's comin' and I'm still runnin'
Well, I come from the old time, baby
Too late for you to save me
If I remain then I'm to blame
But if you should ever need me
I'll go where you lead me
It's all the same
The same old game
Out waltzing with the holy ghost
From the Bowery to the Barbary coast
The land I'm from you know I love the most
Steady rollin' and I keep goin'
And every day is just another town
The more I search and though the less I found
Me I'm a sucker just a slave to sound
And it's comin and I'm still runnin'
Well, I come from the old time, baby
Where all the kids are crazy
If I remain then I'm to blame
But if you should ever need me
I'll go where you lead me
It's all the same
The same old game
what guitar is that?
It is a Blueridge BG-40. It's basically a copy of a Gibson J-45. I've had it a long time and I love it, but I'm actually looking for a new OM style acoustic that I want to be all solid wood. Not sure what to get yet though
it sounds great , thanks , I am looking at Canadian made Seagull S 6
I've never got to play one myself but they look like lovely guitars. Canadian made, solid wood and a low price. Very nice
Seagulls are made by Godin company if it sounds the bell with you
