Tank controlls mean your movement is not "straight" as if ur holding right ur charakter wont move to the right he will turn right. on tank controlls u hold up to move where ur character is facing. left and right steer the character in each direction and holding down walks backwards. your welcome
in the HD remaster there is this "direct" movement they implied into the game. u can play simultaneously with tank and the "wherever u point, i go" movement. it doesnt help much though. u still wanna play with tank controlls, its more precise.
@@tommymerat6217 Playing the steam version right now with original controls. It is indeed possible to run past zombies in tight areas, but is much trickier. Reason I'm playing using tank controls? Actually works fairly well with the game. Requires some getting used to, but after playing a lot of the original Silent hill on an emulator, the controls feel quite nice. Especially with how the cameras are set up, it is overall easier moving the character when I don't have to always think about repositioning my analog stick when crossing a lot of corners, as some areas do get quite annoying to navigate using the alternate movement mode.
I tried knife only on Normal and got up to the Elder Crimson just fine but he is literally impossible on Normal unless you're extremely lucky or can bait his attacks like here. It takes 6 shotgun blasts to take him down so I don't even know how many knife attacks that'd be and 2 grabs from him and you're dead.

The only thing I do not like about this version are those quick turns that you make with the stick, that helps reduce the time of the animation, ideal for speedruns but nothing like the gamecube version. Greetings
there is still tank controls in the game. and in speedrun u need those. also the animation for ur so called "quick turns" on the stick is not faster. it will get u back grabed by a zombie a lot.
? wade ? Because for some reason when you aim down with the knife you can hit the zombie from farther away then if you were to try it normally. If you want to knife zombies instead of shooting them, aim for the ankles. You’ll be just out of range of the zombie’s grab and when the zombie finishes its grab attack animation it’s pauses for a brief moment which will allow you to back up to create more distance or quickly slip by past it.
I saved barry and i had to face the final boss twice you will need to use the rocket launcher it will not count as using a weapon for knife run thanks for this video dude

That Crimson head zombie is the one who ruins it for me. I run out of sprays & have a hard time dodging his attacks like you did. There has got to be a better way...
actually when ur going 4 the knife only run ( i mean the trophy) then there is no better way. u can do the run on very easy and go bring 3 masks down. and then run across all the rooms the mansion has so far 4 u and get every bit of medicine u can get. there should be plenty green herbs u can combine with either red one's or combine 3 green herbs. also i think there was way to "trap" him behind the coffin when he goes aggro (chasing u) u can lore him behind the coffin and get some hits on hit, before his AI decides to run in circles. either its patched or i am wrong. but if u come with only one mask and a knife. u have 6 spaces for sprays and herbs. good luck
I only managed one time to get under a certain time to the end of the game and got a pistol for that don't know the exact time amount xD although it's probably not the best weapon you can get i was still proud of me xDD
@@naash170 The easy option of first run. It asks you 3 questions in place of easy, normal and hard and it looks like he chose the easy one, but it's still a step above Very Easy.
u can get the trophy on very easy. just be carefull and dont pick up any defense items or ever equip any kind of gun. just stick 2 ur knife. Since the knife has the same speed as running without any weapons

This game is based on RNG. Meaning, no play through is exactly the same. Sad, that they made an achievement like this, seems very uncharacteristic. You can tell by the positioning of the zombies that some was meant to be avioded by taking a different approach and others were meant to be an obstacle. Play it as it was intended and you will never be sure of the outcome.
I take it this is on very easy difficulty since you survived a bunch of hit from the elder crimson head. That being said I cant get past elder boi with knife only very easy :(

I have no fuckin extra health to fight the red zombie in the basement..smh i dont know how ima beat that shit...ima probrably have to do the whole game over .try to make sure i have health ...i had to do that in resident evil 4 with the IT. i didnt have enough ammunition to kill him so i had to start all fuckin over.

Oh man! The battle with the elder crimson head was epic! A gladiator fight, very good. It is the anticipated final boss in a knife run.
I love Jill's BSAA look. Probably my favorite, although the original football shoulder pads outfit is pure nostalgia.

No save run is easy with infinite launcher even on hard, But ye anyone doing knife runs there skilled at resident evils in general.
