Its Grown children. Any sign of emotion or reality makes them recoil in horror. Hopefully they mature someday and learn to appreciate that this is how grown men who have been through some shit communicate with love and compassion. .
Maybe. The interview teetered very closely on being offensive but was saved by what seems to be a personal relationship between them all coupled with the masterful skill Jim Gray uses to ask these incredibly invasive questions. Another person interviewing the same questions could have easily seem to have been offensive and been rightly retributed for that. Professionals making it look easy.
It was nice to hear Mike talk about such personal things, but I feel Jim pryed too much. You gotta respect some of Mikes personal things he brought up a lot of Mikes low lights when Jim was the one who was supposed to be the guest 🤷🏽♂️

From all the interviews I have seen so far in this podcast, Jim Gray is the only guy that looks at Mike straight into the eyes without fear. That says a lot about his charachter.

Jim Gray looks visibily moved or hurt (that expression!) when he was asking Mike about his father. Jim clearly reflected within a heart-beat on what that must been like, given that his own father was the most influencial person in his life.
I'm feeling the heartache myself - I knew my father, a brilliant man, but he walked out on us when I was a kid, and I never truly resolved this pain. He died over a decade a go, but now, anything remotely related to fatherhood (film, music, real-life, animal kingdom even) still produces raw feelings that I can't explain (but that until this post, i never shared).

My neice has never met her father though we know who he is. When i ask her about it she doesnt seem to really care about it. I find it hard to grasp that shes so stoic about it. She almost acts as if its for the best since we're aware of him being a gangster and what not.
The silence at certain parts of this interview let's you know that Jim was shocked at some of Mike's story. One of the best interviews on hotboxin.

This is really a GEM of a fucking interview. I want to see more of Jim and Mike. He's the only one that really TALKS to mic. Everyone sees MIKE TYSON, but Mike is a person. Most people can't look at him like that but you can see that Jim does. Almost like a father/mentor figure. A lot of respect was just earned for this man watching this interview, never ever really got to see him speak or interview with anyone. This was really a great one.

Tyson knows the people who treated him just normal throughout the pas F the prejudice. Personally I like the (rather strange lol) one with Roseanne Barr also. Look up the old interview she did with him after he got out of prison. Great stuff.
The last 6 minutes and 53 seconds of this podcast was absolutely riveting. Takes you into the deep emotional waters of this extraordinary boxing icon and the demons he had to overcome and yet survive and is thriving today as a beautiful human being. Mike Tyson is indeed an international human treasure. We love you Mike and continue to teach us humility.

The thing that makes Mike Tyson podcast so interesting. Is the guy has lived, to the max, down dead ends, up bad alleys, but he came back stronger. Then his strength was in his body and will to succeed, now his strength is in his compassion and empathy.

Spartan life was “supposedly” minimalist living on little but your own strength So I know why you would say that but Spartans were full of shit and mike Tyson is the real deal. Spartans took credit for others’ work and we made a movie where they make fun of the ‘potters’ but the workers were the real warriors the Spartans were masters of propaganda. I got more out of this interview about Mike than the two interviews with Joe Rogan. Jim Gray is awesome, the way he asked such deep questions was amazing. He should have a podcast and get some of these fighters on it.

Ya know every time I watch Mike he becomes more n more interesting of a person. I used to idolize his fighting abilities but to hear his life's story, part of it makes you say Wow! Shouts to Jim Gray for both bn interviewed and the telling respect he had for his father but also the interviewer instincts to pull some of Mike's life out of him as well. I truly think Mike is an older character from another era, he's young but have lived a life that we can only imagine.

Mike has motivated me to change my life around and get my confidence back... I wish I could talk to him or atleast know he got this message.. seeing Mike come back in his 50s and being amazed at how he moved out there and seeing the old Mike Tyson (but tamed and matured) made me tear up... The man went through alot and is coming out of this a wiser smarter better man.. I inspire to learn as much as I can and I thank Mike for that.. didn't have a father in my life so you're left looking else where for role models.. Amen bro. Being fatherless is one of the worst conditions on a human especially a boy that's why God says we should look out for widows and orphans. But you can take what you learned to do and NOT to do from your experience and be the best dad ever someday,should you choose to. There is power in fatherhood that you recognize that the boy with a father may never understand. Mike is living proof that negative circumstances can be channeled into a positive outcome. And regarding role models, choose who you will trust very wisely and you will go far.
